  1. My green Flexzilla hoses are drinking water rated.
  2. Your official state mail such as vehicle registrations and driver licenses use the Florida Escapees Bushnell address. Some investment accounts, insurance, etc, may require using that address as well. Mail to the Bushnell address is forwarded to the Escapees mail center in Livingston, TX for processing and forwarding along with your regular mail.
  3. "The US Air Force has denied that an AI-powered drone ‘attacked’ operators in a simulation" https://fullfact.org/news/AI-drone-attack-air-force/
  4. Nick also has a new volume in his "Tinder Street" series out. "A Changing World (Tinder Street Saga Book 5)" continues the story of the McNally's and their extended family, this time in the second half of the 1930's. The series is well researched historical fiction that starts with the days leading up to World War 1. The series is free for Amazon Kindle Unlimited members. https://www.amazon.com/Changing-World-Tinder-Street-Saga-ebook/dp/B0C5ZDBVJ6/
  5. At least our Samsung Galaxy phones are not made in China, nor are any other Samsung products.
  6. I know of a few RV parks in PA, NY, and NJ that are either open year round or allow seasonal renters to leave their RV's on-site unoccupied during the time they're closed for the winter. None of them are near waterways suitable for swimming though.
  7. I didn't hear it all, but my impression was that they had studied the history in school in the lead up to the holiday.
  8. I was walking around the campground yesterday and overheard a young fellow, maybe 12 or 13, correct his mother about the real meaning of Memorial Day. I didn't hear what she had said, but he seemed a little upset that she had it so wrong.
  9. If there's WiFi available where you park your car, some of the WiFi enabled dash cams can be accessed remotely or can alert you remotely to motion similar to residential or business security cameras.
  10. Lots of them to pick from: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=wifi+dash+cam&crid=2SDS0ZBPYRI2E&sprefix=wifi+dash+cam%2Caps%2C200&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
  11. WiFi equipped dash cams are little different than WiFi equipped security cameras used in/on millions of businesses and residences. Law enforcement agencies with sufficient cause for legal access to specific cameras could monitor the feeds in the right circumstances, but the shear storage capacity needed for any broad ranging monitoring of the millions of cameras in use, whether for security or accident/driving monitoring is mind boggling.
  12. Keep in mind you're not paying Dish, DTV, Spectrum, Comcast, etc. to show you ads, you're paying them to deliver content to your TV. The content providers are the source of the ads. I see nothing saying these "free" TV's include any programming other than the ads running constantly on bottom screen whether the TV is on or not. You'll still have to pay Dish, etc., or streamers to deliver the content of your choosing to the screen.
  13. Thanks, Derek and Joel! I'm making progress, but not as quickly as I'd like of course. The manual dexterity is the most vexing, but I am seeing small improvements as each day passes. My stutter is pretty much gone unless I get frustrated or aggravated. My overall mobility is better, but my balance is still off. I've "graduated" from a walker to a cane though, so that's good. I'll keep after it, and my doctors say I should expect near normal to normal functionality eventually. My physical therapist is quite pretty though, so maybe I don't want to rush things too much.
  14. As some of you may know, I suffered a fortunately fairly mild stroke about 6 weeks ago that affected my speech, manual dexterity, and walking. After weeks of speech therapy, my speech is mostly back to normal. However, despite extensive physical therapy, my manual dexterity has not recovered nearly as fully yet, making typing quite difficult. While I was investigating a number of different voice to text tools, I ran across this free tool on the web that has proven to be quite helpful. Using the SpeechNotes dictation tool directly from the website has been quite good at managing my now mild stutter, needing few corrections. The Chromium add-on that allows direct voice to text entry into text boxes like we have in this forum has been a mixed bag though, with some sites working well and others showing a lot of missed words that require too many corrections to be helpful. The website does have provisions for copying text directly into the clipboard for pasting elsewhere though, that does work well. A post this long would probably take me close to an hour without the voice to text tool, and at this point it's only taken me about 10 minutes with just a few corrections. If any of you have have difficulty typing due to stroke, arthritis, or other health issues, take a look to see if this free speech to text tool would be useful to you. I have no vested interest in the site or the product beyond being a satisfied user. https://speechnotes.co/ On edit: I forgot to mention they also have a free Android app that also seems to work quite well in the short time I've tried it.
  15. Yes, just take careful note of the connections. The picture will help with that.
  16. The silver solenoid on the right is the one that connects the two battery systems together for charging. If it needs replacing, it looks like a common Ford starting relay, but it is NOT the same. The starting solenoid is rated for intermittent duty, while the battery isolation solenoid is rated for continuous duty. Make sure you get the right one. https://www.amazon.com/Stylemafia-Continuous-Solenoid-Nickel-Plating-Marine/dp/B09P71SLJ3/
  17. Thank you, Derek. We have a Memorial Day week stay at a NY state park coming up about 2 hours from our current site. Our daughter and her boyfriend will drive the motorhome there and help us get set up. Looking forward to it.
  18. Starlink is now serving Antarctica, making it even more of the planet that's covered. I'm really hoping that AI research will eventually lead to some amazing advances in medical science. I've been interacting a lot closer with the medical community lately than I like due to a thankfully fairly mild stroke that's affected my speech, dexterity, and mobility. Speech and physical therapy have been very helpful, and I'm hoping for a full recovery eventually. I've seen other stroke victims that are much worse off than me, but an example of my issues; typing this post has taken most of an hour so far. I don't know what more science can do for those with much more severe problems in various areas of medicine, but I hope significant progress can be made soon.
  19. My understanding is that Tracfone was quite healthy financially, but Mexican parent América Móvil wanted to expand their Mexico, Central, and South American operations using the funding from the Tracfone sale to Verizon. I won't be surprised to see some consolidation of the brands eventually though.
  20. It's interesting that out of the twelve brands listed above, six are either directly or indirectly owned by Verizon. Visible and Total are direct Verizon subsidiaries, as is Tracfone Wireless that owns the PagePlus, Net10, Tracfone, and Straight Talk brands.
  21. A good informative post, Derek. Thank you. Just a note on your mention of Straight Talk for those that don't know: Straight Talk is a Tracfone Wireless, Inc. brand, and Tracfone is a wholly owned subsidiary of Verizon, not a third-party MVNO.
  22. I agree 3rd party vendors can be problematic. As long as they'll have me, I'll stick with our grandfathered AT&T unlimited data service and our Visible/Verizon unlimited data service. All for a bit less than $50/month total.
  23. What clicks are you referencing? I found no connection between New Braunfels, Texas based Nomad Internet and fulltime RV'er Kyle Hensen's Nomad Insurance agency that uses an Escapees Livingston, TX mail service address.
