  1. Haven’t seen him on since we got out truck. Thanks for all the help on it.
  2. Not going to make it this year staying in Michigan and Wisconsin. Definitely going to miss the riding the week after. Got your zingers packed Chad?
  3. We paid for our first ever in our life extended warranty on our new New Horizon. We knew it would pay for itself. Warranty was just over 3000 and the tire and wheel warranty was 750 ish both were good until the trailer is 7 years old. No deductible. Also the tire and wheel was for trailer and truck(hdt). Had a tire on trailer replaced and that more than half paid for the warranty. We had a bidfoot leveling jack that had a retainer ring break and the paid to have it replaced. It could have been fixed with a new ring but paid 1000$ to have a shop replace the whole thing. We have had good experiences with the warranty company and approved and payed the same day to the service center. The only bad thing is that they won’t pay for the part and let you fix it yourself. The jack could have been fixed with a ten dollar part. The company name is Compass. You have to figure if the warranty price seems worth it for the trailer and how you will use it. If full time then it makes more sense than if you just use on weekends.
  4. Try it without the shade for a while. We bought one and have only used it a couple times in the 2 years we’ve had it. We never leave our awning out when we leave so we’d be unzipping it off and on a lot. They do help with the sun but we are wondering if we should have bought. Good luck with the search.
  5. Great name and sense of humor
  6. I don’t know how much you have seen in the last few years but the weekend warrior comment was right on. “A lot” of the weekend people we see seem like they are racing to get the last camp site. Then gone on Sunday before 8. I know we were all there before but, todays campers (people) are not the same as when I grew up camping there, is a difference now.
  7. Sorry sky king didn’t mean to make it look like I edited your quote. My finger hit something and the last reply didn’t go where it should.
  8. Good idea get a look at plumbing and drain lines. Have your wife turn on facets and fill a sink and let to drain and check for a leak or drip that wouldn’t be seen by one person looking at it. Definitely get on the roof and check all caulking. Good luck
  9. I would stay away from camping world for an inspection
  10. We do it every time we hitch up. Look at jaws and pin behind the jaw block to make sure it’s in place. Then do the test with landing jacks about an inch off the ground. Then we check lights. Only time in 3 years we didn’t was after leaving the dealer for a computer Update. The guy left the brake controller unplugged when he plugged his computer in. We didn’t do the tug test because we had did it a few hours before and didn’t unhitch. Left the dealer and started down the highway in afternoon traffic with no brakes on the trailer. Check then EVERY time now.
  11. We are registered in South Dakota and as long as you have 5 out of the 7 things in the sleeper that is required you can convert the title to rv or motorhome. We filled out the registration paper and the convert title paper and mailed it in with the title and a picture of the truck. Found everything on the South Dakota department of revenue site. We are domiciled in South Dakota but the truck has never been there, did it all through mail and phone.
  12. We do like chad said, we turn off the water pump whenever we leave during the day. We also only turn on gas water heater in the morning before showers then turn it off to save propane.
  13. Some of us are remembering the old saying. If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything
  14. I wasn’t going to comment but I would bet somewhere in the fine print it says not for continuous living. Most trailers are not built to be used full time, even if the salesman says you can or it says 4 seasons. I know a lot of people do it but that doesn’t mean it’s built for it.
  15. First time I read it. We’re laughing by the campfire.
