  2. In 2012 I stayed in a nice private RV park in Salem Oregon I believe was owned by an Indian Tribe that required raised sewer hoses. Good idea and I was prepared. The same tribe also owned a casino and RV park on the highway to the coast. Cheers
  3. Roku and HBO MAX just reached a deal and Max will now be available on Roku Devices soon or immediately. Cheers HBO Max, Roku strike deal at last (yes, you'll be able to stream Wonder Woman 1984) - CNET
  4. Latest veterans coronavirus vaccination news from Stars & Stripes news outlet. https://www.stripes.com/news/veterans/va-releases-order-of-veterans-staff-to-be-vaccinated-1.655414 I am also posting this in my FB Veterans Information Journal. From Dustoff One One
  5. In case you missed it the RED BOX is now offering a free streaming service and with ADs, ads of course. You can also see a lot of free movies on Peacock, Crackle, Hulu (1.99 per month for one year on Black Friday special), Tubi, Pluto, FilmRise, Xumo and many more etc. etc. Many free watching aps on Fire Stick, Roku Stick, and Vizio TV with apps including TV shows, news, sports, kids TV and movies, movies galore, western, nature, history, cooking, local news stations, etc. Unlike my old pricey cable subscription I can pick and choose what to watch on the cheap. For a few live TV shows I like to watch I do have a discounted AT&T TV streaming plan that I soon may dump after January 3rd. Cheers
  6. The 2020 National Defense Authorization Act bill just passed both houses of Congress and is awaiting POTUS signature who may or may not veto the bill due to issues he disagrees with. The bill is veto proof so it will eventually become law. This bill authorizes VA Secretary to add 3 new presumptive diseases to long list of AO illnesses already approved for Vietnam veterans service connection disability due to exposure the DOD defoliant Agent Orange that was aerial sprayed throughout Vietnam in the 60s and 70s. These new added diseases are 1. Bladder Cancer, 2. Parkinsonism and 3. Hypothyroidism More info is found on my website on link to Veterans Information Journal post number 2 https://www.facebook.com/VetJournal On another note families of Vietnam veterans may be interested in the book "Dustoff And Medevac" by former pilot Phil Marshall containing 26 true stories of the very dangerous missions flown by the Army's unarmed UH-1H medevac helicopter crews in Nam. These units were assigned to the Army Medical service Corp Command and although their numbers were small their loss rate of crews and aircraft were the highest of all Army aviation units. I have no financial interest in the book but at least 6 of my combat missions are told in the book including a tragic shoot down of our aircraft in June of 70. The book is sold on Amazon along with many other books on the Nam War.
  7. I just noticed it a few hours ago and website said update was in progress as Kirk just reported. Do not know when it "went down" as not posted anything since wednesday or thereabouts. All is good now.
  8. For those few RVers they may be interested the financial and investment news website SEEKING ALPHA publishes daily and weekly in depth analysis on most major stocks listed on the US exchanges including AT&T that they cover daily with interesting easy to read but long stories. Big Blue just received two very low bids for their proposed sale of Direct TV from other investment outfits. They also of course follow Verizon. I am not an investor in any stocks or funds but do have a couple of old grandfathered At&T plans and follow Big Blue out of curiosity for this reason. https://seekingalpha.com/
  9. Roku just added 5 more free channels and premium series. Also Roku App is now on my Amazon Fire Stick. Cheers. The Roku Channel Adds Five Channels and Full Seasons of Premium Series for Free | Cord Cutters News
  10. This may be of interest to some RVers. I find the ADs to be of minor annoyance. Even some paid for movies I watch on other services occasionally have ADs . Cheers Redbox Launches Free On Demand Streaming Service | Cord Cutters News
  11. Like you a good friend of mine left San Diego and returned to northern Michigan for same reasons. He had lived in SD since 1970 for many years. Sport Camper
  12. Dish Now Missing 236 Channels Due to Fee Fights. The long full story at below link. Cheers https://tvanswerman.com/2020/12/05/dish-now-missing-236-channels-due-to-fee-fights/
  13. A few years ago I was in the pilot lounge at the South Lake Tahoe Airport and one of the private pilots was flying a small drone around inside the lounge. This was the first drone I ever saw and now I assume he was breaking the law?????. It was very annoying and I left immediately. Sounded like a swarm of angry bees.
  14. No panic here as I learned 50 years ago to be very flexible about almost everything. Cheers
  15. Good news for me as i still have my FCC license issued to me in the early 60s along with a Coast guard ID issued at same time with no expiration date along with a military Disabled Vet ID with no expiration date. My FAA Advanced Airline Transport Pilots and flight Instructors licenses do not expire as long as I have a current FAA medical certificate showing me fit for flying. I realize of course I may need a special Drone pilot license to fly these little devils but I will look into that when convenient. Now all I need is a nifty little drone. As wide open BLM lands are not Federal Parks I assume legal to fly a drone in these remote areas no one visits but me. I know this as I have been there many times and spent days and nights without seeing a soul and surveying the desert with my binoculars. These are vast flat non scenic areas and not even off roaders or RVers visit often. Time to visit Amazon. Be happy everyone from Captain Happy.
  16. Here is link to Brannan Island State Park and information in pink says what is open and closed. I assume this may be current info but not sure. Brannan Island SRA (ca.gov)
  17. Before I served as an Army medevac pilot in Nam and USA I help start the first emergency ambulance service in hometown of Temple, Texas in mid 60s and again we and ER hospital personnel wore mask when we were around suspected infectious patients and I never did get sick from the patients. Mask worked for me and fellow EMS attendants. Peace to all
  18. Thanks for the heads up alert D&J. Brannon Island SP is one of my favorites due to fishing the Sacramento River there and Rio Vista. Everything there is outdoors and campsites are mostly spaced at least fifty feet apart with no indoor facilities except the nice toilets and a large spacious five lane boat launch area. Unfortunately toilets are not self cleaning and it is necessary to protect the staff and others. Safety first for all. I will continue to use remote BLM lands in Nevada. Happy Camping
  19. I towed a 4000lb 27foot TT with a Dodge Ram 1500 in the flats of Texas and used an equalizer WDH with sway bars and glad I did. However I also pulled the very same TT with a heavy Dodge Ram 2500 V-10 in the steep mountains of the west coast WITHOUT a WDH or bars and experienced no serious sway or problems at all. Passing big trucks caused a very brief small slight sway feeling at 65MPH. Did this for two years without incident and I avoided pulling TT in forecast gusty windy conditions especially in the mountains. Cheers
  20. Great post RV and as a former Army medevac helicopter pilot in Vietnam and USA plus civilian SAR pilot I and others have witnessed a hundred times military and civilian medical personnel wearing Mask around many types of patients for a darn good reason. They are more effective at protection than no mask at all and should be considered same as using a mandated seat belt during said pandemic. On the other coin side those that impose harsh lock down measures should follow their own restrictions but often do not and they sadly get a free pass. Peace
  21. Agree RV and I have been to SF a thousand times since 1970 and sometimes with extended stays for fishing, VA medical and sightseeing. Know my way around but would never want to live there. New stricter lockdown rules soon to apply in SF. Sierra Nevada mountains and Lake Tahoe area are now my interest. Captain Happy
