  1. For RV and on the road trips I have grandfathered true unlimited AT&T Mobley hotspot with good reception most everywhere and I do heavy movie streaming and web surfing for $22.00 per month with vet discount. Also use Mobley for internet backup at home with AC adapter. Very rare slowdowns or throttling but does happen sometimes. Can use up to 5 devices. For phone call I use grandfathered AT&T prepaid plan that only charges a dollar a day only for the actual days I use it. Charge per minute or call is almost nothing.I have Spectrum at home with no data caps and I do very heavy movie streaming, web surfing, heavy uploading and downloading of photos, emailing, etc. etc. with very rare slowdowns and no throttling. Speeds average between 116 to 134 mbs. Sometimes over 7 devices in use. Cost is $59.00 per month. Been lucky with AT&T and Spectrum
  2. Barbarok This quote from 6door74 RV "I checked our usage when this was announcedHousehold of 4(sometimes 5)Subscribe to digital TV provider (AT&T TV) and have Netflix, amazon primeMultiple cell phones, laptopsRing security and cameras connected to wifiSon is a "gamer" but works full time so doesn't live on the gameParents work FT jobs, stream TV when home. I work evenings and she works days so 1 TV does stream pretty much all day. That will have to change.Teenage daughter doesn't watch a lot of TV but is often on Facetime and streaming musicWhen this announcement was made i checked our usage and we've gone over the 1.2gb the last 3 months I looked at. Our usage is the same as it's pretty much always been. We're both essential workers so Covid hasn't changed too much" Big Cheers to youa
  3. Good for you TXiceman and ORCA this is much appreciated by me and others.
  4. I would like to see that in action in the GREAT OUTBACK. Thanks for posting.
  5. I thought my story about our two beautiful dogs with a happy ending would be inspiring to all. Instead you chose to focus only on the other tragic one. Although I have an accounting degree I did my minor in psychology and sociology that included as I remember extensive study of human behavior and their responses to two simultaneous different types of stories and an insight to the personality. My two above accounts are true and insightful. Thank you everyone for responding. I actually thin skin I thought of this as a public service announcement to save some RVers from future embarrassment, I have observed this and others on this and other RV forums agree with me. Sorry if this offends as you can skip my post or block me. ORCA " I too have seen this ignorant behavior. As a responsible dog owner i had doggie bags in every shirt, jacket, and pants pocket to offer those who claimed to not have a bag but will come back later to pick it up!" ORCA agrees with me so why don't you jump on him also but of course I know the answer to that one sport.
  6. Well just call the Vintage Apartments on South Meadows Parkway in South Reno, Nevada and ask them yourself. They are large fairly modern complex. They also do pet interviews to check for aggression. My mother lived there for years before she passed away and they instituted this requirement after she moved in. Neither she nor I ever had any pets since living in Texas many years ago. DNA test for apartment owners are now as low as 50.00 dollars and the renters pay for this. RV parks are not doing this because of transient nature of RVs. Long Term lot owner/renters in gated parks may see this in future. There are now many apartments doing this everywhere like The Vintage apartments in Reno. Cheers and Tears to you. We use to own two beautiful German Shepherd dogs who were brothers but had to give them a better home in the country with friends who owned a nice farm as we moved into apartments and they were too large. Before that I had a wonderful border collie that was killed by senile old neighbors who gave him chicken bones without our knowledge. This quote was just posted by ORCA another RVer on another RV forum."I too have seen this ignorant behavior. As a responsible dog owner i had doggie bags in every shirt, jacket, and pants pocket to offer those who claimed to not have a bag but will come back later to pick it up!"
  7. If few people exceed the 1.2 TB data cap then I wonder why Comcast is charging extra fee and selected 1.2 as the data cap. Maybe they are anticipating the future. Just curious.
  8. I have observed from inside my RV in RV parks and public campgrounds certain types of RVers deliberately allowing their pets to poop just below the steps of other RVs whose occupants were asleep or not aware or gone shopping, etc. I then inform the victim RVer of what I saw and see if they report this to campground manager. By the way I do not have a pet and have never camped or RVed with a pet. Some large apartment complexes take DNA samples of renters pets for locating offending poopers who violate poop rules. This was a surprise to me. Many campers now days have outside security cameras and scare lights so let the poopers beware. Cheers and Happy Trails
  9. As Vegas is a popular destination spot for many RVers some may find this good news. Sun Coast Casino is also popular with many senior retired folks like myself. This news just appeared on the Fox News Channel. Said the winner was a Vegas resident. Cheers and Happy Trails and Camping.
  10. Barbarok I assume nothing and just reporting the news for benefit of others who may or may not be affected. I am not even a Comcast user or consumer of large amounts of data and not adversely affected. No Zoom for me as is not needed. Re read the post and there you go again jumping on someone for whatever reason. Pity. I don't believe there is a connection between Comcast and Verizon?????. Happy Camping everyone else. Some RVers on this forum have stated they use large amount of data conducting business from the RV.
  11. Consumer Reports has online petition for people to sign urging Comcast to drop their data cap and excess usage fees. Happy Trails Really Comcast? Data caps during COVID-19? (consumerreports.org)
  12. According to many users and experts 1.2 TB of internet data is not much for Zoom conferences from home for personal and business users and also large households with many family members streaming data at same time most of the time. Comcast has over 30 million customers. I am not a Comcast customer but Spectrum may be next and we are small household More information here : Comcast adding data caps for home Internet | Fox Business . Happy Trails and camping
  13. Duplicate post deleted by author. Cheers
  14. Okay I will deeply apologize to you for a thousand times for my poorly written post. I just explained why i missed the news to another poster. I have noticed you are quick to jump on other people. What is your problem. 당신은 단지 트롤입니다 I do live in a large apartment complex with majority elderly population like me and we keep close eye on one another and so far no one has covid or died. I hope our luck continues.
  15. Thank you for the updated information and your strong reply. I just recently reduced my news watching and missed those reports. My great thanks to you. I also reduced watching Fox news with the others. Again my heartfelt grateful thanks to all of you for informing me with quick replies. I am not a non believer but simply ask a simple question that some of you have now answered without other inferences. I do spend a lot of time outdoors on public lands and away from TV.
  16. I am sure you folks are very correct in reporting all the deaths and serious illness of corona virus in people you know of but where are all the photos and videos of all the body bags being loaded into refrigerated trucks or taken to funeral homes or patients waiting in line at the ER?? Our lovely national news media loved showing us photos of all this deaths in early 2020 but now nothing at all only talking mouth ** on TV. Wearing a mask and practicing social distance fits in perfectly with my solo outdoor camping, hiking, fishing and kayaking and internet lifestyle so no problems for me. Better safe than sorry. As someone said "show me the money". Just curious and my head is not in the sand. From bitter personal experiences in Vietnam and over the years as a veteran I know the media is not always accurate or trustworthy on important issues of the day. Happy Camping to everyone
  17. Thanks greatly for this info Griffy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to youa
  18. I hear that and thanks Mr. Cobb and rickeieio for you comment.
  19. Thanks for update Mr. Cobb and glad you returned to the world (USA) in one piece I hope. Here are a few photos of my Nam medevac Dustoff duties to show I am not a faker.
  20. Dude where do you camp with your super heavy duty tow truck and TH. Does the RV campgrounds and public campgrounds have the space and road carrying weight for your rig. I have camped in many private and public campgrounds and RV parks and never seen a rig like yours in any of them. Just curious. Cheers
  21. Just released news from military times and beginning this week. Locations listed by state. Here are 128 new VA sites for veterans, staff to get coronavirus vaccine (militarytimes.com)
  22. Where did you see this info. I am a Nevadan age 74 with heart disease and SA so I am curious as to my place in line or pecking order. Thanks
  23. Very interesting insight info mptjelgin and confirms my experiences on forums. I was a lurker on this and other RV forums for many years before joining. I am active on numerous other forums including veterans and kayak fishing.
  24. Sometimes when they don't like the reply's they give us the brush off as in the new gift was not what she or he wanted for Christmas😊
