So if I read those numbers correctly, you have less than 2K "Cargo Carrying Capacity" (CCC)? -
Customize my Fifth Wheel Build?
DesertMiner replied to BuckeyeNTexas's topic in Graduating to Fulltime
Billy W what Model of LUXE did you get? What is the actual weight of your new LUXE upon delivery and how much CCC do you have? -
No need to Judge people by where you "think" they are from! That type of attitude is not appreciated on this forum! I bet you will get your wish and get no more answers that you don't want to hear 'cuz you already "know it all"...you need to "move along"! Oh and by the way FB might suit your questions in a more "positive" light! You should fit right in with the other folks that have accomplished your "quest" with varying degrees of success!

Sometimes it can be helpful to others when you share your “fix” to your problem.

traveling thru california with a NON-Carb Compliant HDT

Go for it and have a safe trip! If your pulling a RV most LEO’s won’t look twice. -
By not setting the “parking brake” and allowing the truck to roll you induced a “torque” load on the tranny. As you found out you can easily remedy the situation byl removing the “torque” on the drivetrain. The tranny did what it was designed to do in that situation. Not a good idea to ever leave you truck in neutral and not apply the “parking brake”. You were fortunate you had a tow close by to get you going again. The UltraShift users manual mentions this situation and the possibility of “rolling” the truck to release the torque. I have it somewhere and will try to post it.

New MorRyde independant suspension concerns
DesertMiner replied to PAylor's topic in Technical Tips and Tricks
What is your concern? -
Do you plan on running the genny while it is under the fairing? What about the exhaust? Cooling air? Noise and vibration? There are some nice generator slide trays that might work. https://www.morryde.com/products/93-utility-sliding-trays?return=%2Fproduct-category%2F2-sliding-trays%3F

Something I happened across on the Gen 2 trucks is the drivers side is the “Brains” and the passenger is the “child”! Everything goes though the drivers side switch to operate the function. Pull the switches on both sides and remove the connectors and spray some electric contact cleaner on the switch and the connectors. On Gen 2 trucks the switch panels are just snapped in. Can be removed without removing the door panel. Not sure if this pertains to Gen 1 trucks so if not just disregard!

This shop has some good reviews for rebuilding of HDT turbos of various brands. https://www.ebay.com/str/yiyitosturboservices

If you look at the cover side of the mirror do you see two little “buttons” if so you can remove them and find some screws. Remove the screws and remove the cover. If you have the “newer style” you can use the YouTube video for help.

Looking for truck repair place in or around Riverside, CA.
DesertMiner replied to HERO Maker's topic in HDT
Call http://www.coltontruckterminalgarage.com/service.html. They have a good reputation in this area. I haven’t had a need to use them yet. If they can’t help you then maybe they can refer you to someone else. Sorry it’s not in Riverside proper but close by. Lots of truck shops and dealerships in Fontana and the surrounding areas. Still close by...- 15 replies

Am I missing something here.... what about Medi-Care...? Private insurance? Are there not alternatives to the VA that you qualify for? Didn’t you mention your wife retiring from a teaching job? No insurance option there?

Did the OP explain why he was dumping his air? Is this a requirement with some DP’s? Is this necessary when using air to level the coach? What if you have hydraulic leveling? Just curious? TIA

Could you attach the antenna to a extendable pole and clip the pole to your RV ladder?

Lots of “accessories” run off of the front tanks! Seats, all of your airbags, sometimes air operated shifting, also check parking brake valve assy, engine fan, most of your solenoid operated items.
