There are some useful functions that can only be accomplished from the meter so be aware of this when mounting or not.

You can mix and match components from different manufacturers. The TriMetric, the Victron BMV, or another battery monitor of your choice will all get the job done. It’s more important to have a “shunt” type battery monitor to give you correct info as to what is going into your battery as far as “charge” and what you have used or “discharged” from your battery over a period of time. Staying with one “brand” will sometimes make communication between different components easier and more user friendly and in some cases you get some added functionality.

Look at your closet space that is available to you in the bedroom. Most front living room floorplans are a bit on the small size compared to the front bedroom designs. Something to concider when spending lots of time living in your portable home.

Darryl is spot on. Did you remove any wires?Did you buy the truck with the Directlink already installed? Try disconnecting the direct link at the 9 pin connector and see if anything changes. Do you have anything else connected to the 9 pin?

Was this a fleet truck? Check the wiring to your 9 pin test connector under your dash above your left knee. There may also be a “ second” square connector with 4 wires that is capped located somewhere in the wire loom or on the fire wall that is also used for diagnostics and laptop connection for troubleshooting. Do you have a “ScanGauge D”? Is anything presently plugged into the 9 pin test connected mention above? Also check the fuses for your computers... not sure if Freightliner has them close to the batteries like some other makes or elsewhere. You may also have a “loose” or “ damaged” connector that is not weather proof and the moisture is “shorting” the data bus line. Check main power lines from the battery to the ECM. If you have “ dirty” power it can cause all kinds of problems. Most ECM’s may have up to 3 12vdc inputs, one straight from the battery that may be “split” before it reaches the ECM and “key on” 12vdc. If you loose power it may not log a fault so no trail.

Do your research on flexible panels and their "pros & cons" before you think about flexible panels. You might want to also consider before the purchase of the solar panels is the physical size vrs rated output vrs available "roof space"! Lots of roof protrusions can make it a challenge to arrange panels depending on size of the panel. Hopefully you persuaded DRV to "increase" the wire size of the "solar option" to help out in the panel placement and the total size of your solar array. I believe DRV uses Magnum products for inverters and such. Do some research on some of the other products lines that are available.
