I really want to get out there with the kids before they grow up. But it's going to be a few years. I could take my work truck. But 36-inch sleeper with 2 teenagers in it don't sound like much fun.

Put lockers in one of our farm trucks pre covid. It cost 10 grand.

I have a comfort ride. It was really nice and shiny. This coating was never supposed to come off, but it faded a little. It's better than paint or Powdercoat that will chip off and rust. First picture was brand new out of the box 5 years ago. Second was taken a couple months ago. It's not the best picture of the hitch but you can see there is not much difference. It's never covered and always outside.

I like that. It is how mine is wired up. Plug and play.

We were denied one time. Some little podunk campground in the middle of Illinois. I didn't really want to stay there anyway it was just going to be convenient.

Hit it with a wire brush and rattle can it. I drive gravel roads. It's a never-ending process. I had to do it every couple years on my old trailer.

You should have a mechanic pull the oil pan and check the main bearings.

So, they are not building "new" engines. They are building more of the old ones?

Fords are doing too. This truck was clearly over loaded.

We don't typically use Netflix on the road but when we do I have the app on my tablet and cast it to the TV.

I was wrong in my previous comment. It went up $15 a month.

My Freightliner, Tahoe and Suburban all went up just a little bit. Camper and minivan stayed the same. It went up $15 every 6 months.

The dealer set all our trucks to 99. But they are all Cummins. They top out on RPMs before that anyway. My new 880 KW stops at 86. My freightliner has no limit as far as I have been able to reach. I chickened out around 95. It was kind of like when you were a teenager, and you got a $200 car and you wanted to see how fast it would go. Then it started making noises you never heard before. Yea it was like that.

It doesn't go as far as it used to, but cash is still king.

As owner operators we take care of ourselves. If I can't fix it on the road with the tools I have I call a mobile mechanic or a hook. I keep a few hundred bucks in my permit book for emergencies such as that.

There are a few farmers that would disagree with you. I know more than a few that work themselves to death. I've been told that camping and fishing is waste of time when you could be working. I talked to one older farmer one day. He said his whole family was on vacation. His wife, all the kids and grandkids all went somewhere. He would rather say home and work. He hasn't seen his kids in years. They live all over the country. They all get together once a year for a couple weeks and go do something. He stays home. He will probably never meet his grandkids. The day my bossed dad died we kept working. The day of is his funeral we got back to the farm changed clothes and went straight to work. It was just another day. Sad way to live, I think. All these guys have more money than they know what to do with. They will still work until the day they die. Telling people like us we are wasting time and need to be more productive.

I got my batteries at Freightliner. Alliance brand. I think they were $80.

I have a second fridge that runs off an inverter hooked to 2 250-amp hour AGM batteries. That is where the beer goes.

It's a curt hitch rated for 20,000 lbs. I got it from eTrailer.

I-40 to I-30 to I-20 to I-10 That is the quickest way to I-10 when you are headed to the southwest from the northeast.

We switched over to Schaeffer grease for a while but then changed to Cenex synthetic. I do like the Schaeffer 80 90 weight gear oil. It's really tacky.

I do mine myself. Get a Fomoto valve. Makes things much easier. Turn the valve on to drain, spin the filter off, close the valve, spin new filter on, put in oil. Takes 15 minutes. Actually, with the fumoto valve you could lay under the truck and fill old oil jugs to make disposal easier.

You have to have the right shop to do the work. We had a farm truck burn the back half in the field fire. The shop that got the work couldn't find the right size frame, so they patched back together with 2 different sizes. Then welded the axles solid to the frame. After fighting with them and insurance we had to get it fixed right and paid every penny out of pocket. The right shop had to cut the frame behind the cab and go back with all new. I can't find pictures right now but the garbage work this shop did will blow your mind.

Get in the car and make a 3-day weekend road trip somewhere. That helps me.
