First word from the shop is encouraging. They have it running! They needed to arc the starter, because the key switch doesn't work, but it ran on it's own. Obviously the ECM is partially toasted, but it does run. An ECM is on order now and we'll see what happens from here...

It left Airventure on the hook Tuesday to a Volvo dealer in FonDuLac. They are hoping to get it in the shop next week to evaluate it. Until then, we’re not sure if it will live another day or…

Trucks totaled. Just got hit by lightning. The entire electrical is fried.

Wow. I have never had an issue with releasing my ET. I don't dump the truck suspension, we just put the landing gear down and take some weight, release the clamping block, and take more weight on the gear until there is a small gap between the plate and lube plate, then pull away. I do lube the clamping block and jaws on the ET. Henry said this wasn't necessary, but I do it anyway.

This is an interesting topic to me. I just had MORryde suspension and Kodiac brakes installed on our coach. My understanding is that these calipers are basically standard GM front calipers from 80s vintage vehicles (the same also as my 94 Ram truck). They would have two lubricated shoulder-bolts going through the caliper into the bracket holding them in place. I have put 100s of thousands of miles on these types of brakes and never once in many years of abuse have I had a caliper bolt come loose or need to have any sort of Loctite (much less permanent red) on the threads. What is the dynamic that is causing this?

This is kind of done to the truck... With a little (a lot) of advise from wlp, here is the combination BluDot/Electric brake system now in our trailer.

I have my truck DOT inspected every spring when I have it serviced at my buddy's shop. It's not needed, but it's good peace of mind.

I have driven my Chevy Spark into ours. No issues. We have D-rings in the floor that I tie through the shell to the floor at the 4 corners. This is also the method that I use to secure the UTV (our normal cargo).

Glad you're okay, Chad. Bummer about the total loss of the trailer, but as you say, it could have been much, much worse. We are glad that you are okay and no one else got hurt. Has there been any idea where the tire came from? it obviously didn't just fall out of a tree...

Going to work on them this weekend for the trip down to the ECR. Mama said the OG seats needed to go for this trip. I can't get a bracket for the iShift handle for like 6-8 weeks, so I will need to fabricate my own. The ECR project may be to add another camera to the top of the Drom Box.

Sneak peek of an upcoming project...

I had mine singled at a local chassis shop. They also installed my ET hitch at the same time. It cost me about $5k. That included a new driveshaft, u-joints, brake cans and alignment.

I had to stop through the Volvo dealer today and they had a pair of Seats Inc. Pinnacles on display, leather and fabric. So far that looks like the right mix of price versus quality versus features.
