  1. Yes, that was something I really wanted to get. Oh well, sometimes you need to make concessions. Have you done any modifications that you recommend?
  2. Registered! See you there!
  3. They had it for a while down in KS. Through the tail end of much of the Covid BS that cause many delays in raw materials and such. It was there longer than I would have liked, BUT, we didn't need the truck through the winter, the delays were out of everyone's control and Jack and company did a great job in the end. I am very happy with the results.

I got a policy quote from CoachNet, not a bad number but it was an "inclusionary" policy, so I think not (thanks TwoToes). I generally believe in self insuring this type of thing, but thought I would investigate a little. I have time to research, yet. The coach has a 1-year factory warranty to start with anyway...

Tried researching them without much luck, who did you get the warranty through?
  6. Thank you all! Truck first: Wheelbase is about 205". Bed total length is 7-1/2'. The flat is 4-1/2' from the drom to the hitch. Our new trailer is a Grand Design Momentum 397TH. We really like the layout of this coach and the living space that's usable with the garage full. We are gaining quite a few things: another 18" in the garage, a dinette in the salon, King size bed, and a second bathroom we will probably never use, to name a few... We already have an appointment to take it down to MORryde for full independent suspension installation this winter (this was always part of the plan). The two items we are missing on the trailer we would have gotten if we would have ordered are: Insulated glass and a heat pump on the center AC. We can live without the insulated glass, and since we may eventually add a third AC in the rear, we will take the center one and put it in the back and add the heat pump AC to the center.

Background: We have road side policies through Coachnet for the HDT and RV. The number we were quoted by the RV dealer for extended warranty was crazy high, so we opted out. Has anyone ever done an RV extended warranty through Coachnet or Good Sam? What are your experiences with this? Another company? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  8. We just picked up our truck from Jack and Company at RVH with our new bed and goodies installed! We liked the new look of the truck so much we decided to buy a new trailer to go with it. What have I done... We went back and forth a bunch whether to order a new toy hauler or not. We finally decided that the uncertainty of lead times and even what equipment our trailer would come with (dealer wasn't sure if what we ordered would be what we got) we decided to find a dealer-stock trailer that was close to what we would order. We found one that was 90% of what we would have ordered. So, after making the round trip from Wisconsin to Kansas (in two days) for the truck, we went up to Duluth MN and looked at the trailer dealer we found on the internet. (That makes 2300 miles in 3 days...) We came to a deal and pulled the trigger. Now we have two toy haulers. (Oh boy...) Anybody looking for a nice, preowned, well cared for, affordable toy hauler?
  9. Jack moved my hitch back to install the bed on our truck, I believe having it cantilever out of the frame a small amount. Going to pick her up this week...
  10. Lawd. I sure am glad I don't live where you guys do. The only Home Owners Association I have to answer to is my wife and she's pretty reasonable. You couldn't pay me enough to life in one of these tyrannical neighborhoods...

On the recommendation of a local HDT towing operation (and friend of mine) I had Firestones installed on my truck all the way around. I went with an open sidewall tread for traction, singled and no locker. So far I have been very happy with their operation on my truck.
  12. Will do. We'll see ya around... Truck will be back on the road soon. Just need the Drom Box...
  13. Have a great rally and all have safe travels! Bummed we will miss it. See y'all in 2022...
  14. One of the line-in-the-sand things for me on my truck was I wanted the iShift. In the vintage trucks that I could afford this was the best transmission, from my research. They skip up and down, allow for feathering to hook to the trailer and had a fairly proven track record. Every "mechanic" and "professional driver" I spoke with during my research phase told me that these were junk and would be nothing but trouble as would the Volvo engine. I found a nice, clean 2012 Volvo 730 with a D13 engine mated to a non-overdrive iShift (2.47 rear). This truck was at a price point that worked for me and thus far I am very happy with the truck. It is tuned for the "Ecco-torque" package which is 435 hp and dual torque ratings. 1750(?) for 1-10 gears and 1650 (?) for 11-12. Pulling my trailer I have never been want of any more power. The transmission operation is excellent and the way it works with the engine and engine brake are very well designed and seamless, IMO. So far I had to replace the starter (cost less than my VW's starter) and a hard pipe in the DEF system. Other than that there have been no problems in the ~25k miles I have put on it. The 40-year, multi-million mile professional driver that went with me to bring the truck home was very impressed with the truck. The way it drove, rode and the way the cab/sleeper was set up he said was far better than any of the company trucks he ever drove.
  15. I follow them. Yes it’s a great channel. We are actually looking at the same model 397TH.

  20. Hey, I like cheap Canadian Whiskey. Can I come?
  21. Made our reservations with Deer Run today. Looking to arrive Saturday 17th and leave for home on Saturday the 24th. Hoping things will come together on other situations that will allow us to attend! We need the Vacation... (Side note, this would be the public debut of our new RVH bed on the truck!)

  23. Looks like Brett Wickett's old truck to me. He sold it and went back to a Class A.

I'm sorry, it looks like a Range Rover clone to me... Not impressed.
