  1. Waver - permit to use the bridges (no doubt with stipulations in the event of damage). The casino would/will bring in $$ to the surrounding area - as well as to the casino itself. *Revenue* talks - loads can.......walk ??, ROTFL .
  2. The software *may* still show (memory) it has been "tampered with" even after removal. However the most important consideration is warranty (if the vehicle is covered by same). A common problem with warranty claims with some brands - was when an owner brought in his vehicle with say a transmission breakdown - - *if* the dealer "discovered" the tuning modification , they would flat-out void the warranty, period! (with factory approval). In spite of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act (often cited by the after-market vendors), it is up to the owner to take appropriate action to "prove" the modification was covered by MM. Dealer/factory = deep pockets, attorneys on retainer., time on their side. You = Mega $$ out of YOUR pocket.......*maybe* some assistance from the vendor (doubtful). Charlie - Before you indicated what engine you had - most "suspected" it was a diesel. However, now that the "secret" is out.......There are plenty of forums which include various Ford *GAS* engines, etc. Spend some time on the Ford Enthusiasts Forums . Search the various V10 threads. .
  3. Nice numbers! Well aware of hp & tq software power upgrades for *DIESEL HDT's* !! However........ Apples to oranges! Is a Cummins dealer going to help Charlie with his...... *GAS* burner V10 ?? (IMO) - Good & accurate advice & observations by "mptjelgin" - regarding the V10. .
  4. CharlieF - the V10....... try to get used to "the vast difference". May take a while! Something under warranty? (Easy answer = DON'T modify). BTW - Kirk - have yet to hear of a *mfgr* "upgrading" the factory hp/tq with a software flash. Maybe I've missed it. Easy (safe) upgrade - - improve air "in" -and- exhaust "out". No change to factory engine specs req's.
  5. There's no "generic" answer. Go to one of the brand specific diesel forums (several for each) for your brand of truck. It will have various sub-sections by the engines and transmissions for various years of your vehicle. Find out what the owners (again - for your brand of truck) have to say - pros & cons as you add power modifications. .
  6. RV.Net Open Roads Forum - has a dedicated Toy Hauler Forum. Lots of contributors! Also has a sticky of ALL the brands of Toy Haulers, old and new. RV Net does *not* have classifieds -or- allow for sale posts on their forums. However, the "work around" to that is to post as you did here - and ask readers to offer "suggestions" (posts) or * PM* you on how /where to find what you are looking for. Some will post things like Craigslist, e-bay, etc. However - - Someone with a toy hauler *For Sale* - may take the hint and contact you via PM !! Happy hunting! .
  7. *VERY* ancient news. Various RVs since 1975. Never had anything stolen. (But, could be a 1st time..."sometime"). Theft: - Guy with a 751 may "appear" to be the owner. However, no key or crowbar necessary - slot-head screwdriver can pry open most basement storage. Results in damaged door to repair. My pref = "thumb turn" (non locking) on doors. If you really want locking, there are other locking options from various suppliers.
  8. Blend door problems are *common* with pickups. The various diesel forums have extensive documentation for replacement (on pickups). Can't vouch for the gas-burner forums, but the parts should be the same. Part of that info is the recommended supplier - their products are all metal -vs- the plastic OEM parts - with many satisfied customers on the forums. No clue if the suppler would also have MDT / HDT versions - but a visit to (ex: the Dodge Diesel forums) might yield the mfgrs contact info. .
  9. Plus - they have extensive Q and A section/s. .
  10. "Professor95" - hang in there! Hope all goes well (I expect it will). Plan out whatever form of "entertainment" that you may -and can do- to make your time pass during recovery. Stick with (minimal) "eight ounce curls" for exercise. Maybe your former employer (the community college) could find some internet chores to explain what's wrong with: "Black and White makes a light, and Green is ground the world around"! Ol Bombero-JC .
  11. You did well. Pliz post (add) your return experience also. Enjoy your trip! .
  12. Take a look at the Toy Hauler Forum on RV.Net. Good source for LOTS of info - from the folks who have one! .
  13. ".....so the genny may sit for weeks or even months between uses and I was told diesels need to be run regularly to avoid issues." (IMO) The opposite is really the issue - unless you plan to drain the gas during the "weeks or months". Otherwise plan on frequent carb cleanings. Ethanol in gasoline is not your gen's friend!..☚ī¸ .
  14. "robertalloto": You posted a similar thread (with spelling error, "goodby"): on March 21, "GOODBY direct tv satellites.." Ahhhh - OK, you've made your point! - Now it's time to say: "goodbye", "GOOD BYE", "GOODBY"..... or is it time for..... "ADIOS direct tv satellite service" ??...😀 .
  15. 😄..😁..😄 .
  16. X'lnt info.....(success story) from - CARLOS! IMO - you did well - appears you *DID* get what you paid for.......even if it "wouldn't even" cover the sales tax for RT's choice! 😉
  17. WOW.... From your replies seems you didn't need to ask - unless you're touting the "mobile electronics" you already have. No need to remove the bike - put it inside........oh forgot - - your space is at a premium. ☚ī¸ .
  18. Nothing like..... "More Roadtrek", ROTFL Some are less than $50. Google is your friend, Roadtrek! Ditto..... Amazon and E-bay. .
  19. Beware of the "well trained dog" !! Many years ago, the next door neighbor had a very large German Shepard. The dog had been obedience trained and was allowed to be off leash. He would stay in the driveway close to the young (about 20 yr old) kid while he worked on his VW van. There were two cats a few doors down who would languish in the street on the warm asphalt pavement. One day I witnessed "Randy" (the Shepard) decide it was more than he could handle and launched at the cats. The dog owner saw this, yelled the dog's name and Randy came to a screeching halt - like he had hit an invisible brick wall. Wow! Very impressive! Some time later, we had walked to the corner market (7-11, or) with our two kids who were about 6 (girl) and 10 (boy) to get an ice cream or whatever. On the way back they ran ahead of us, and around my van which was in the driveway to "hide" from us. I heard my daughter yell (scream) - as unknown to us, "Randy" had been in the driveway next door (unleashed) - saw the kid/s run around the van - and (I guess) figured it was some kind of "aggression". He chomped on my daughter's leg - but quickly released. On checking her leg, she had bite marks (thru her jeans), one of which was a slight puncture. So - we figured she probably should have a tetnus shot. The doc said he was bound by law to notify animal control of the bite (he did) - which resulted in the dog being quarantined for two weeks. That resulted in "Bad Karma" with the neighbor - the lady (owner) said she was completely comfortable with the dog being loose around her 2 yr old grandchild, etc. etc. - WE were the bad guys! Fortunately, they were renters and moved a few months later. The "moral of the story" is obvious - don't trust ANY dog that is "off leash" - no matter what the owner tells you - even if you are a "believer" from what you may have previously seen. "Things" (circumstances) may change in an instant. .
  20. I'll have to disagree with the long bed folks - on a/the rather short "preference poll". Had both. First truck was a Ford 1-T, Crew Cab. Just didn't need the 8' bed. Now have a short bed (1-T, quad cab, Ram CTD, SRW). Yes - I have an auto slider - and have had it 90 degrees or sure close to it with no problems. The truck is great as a daily driver. The (previous) Ford long bed was the last long bed for me! BTW - I tow a 34' Jayco. 5th. Best answer is - buy what *YOU* prefer - and what will work best for *YOU* ~
  21. Just an FYI and/or a South Dakota Question. At one time - probably about the time Randy A registered his in SD.......SD would *not* register an HDT as a MH. YES the procedure (for lack of a better term) was "on the books" - and at least one member of the forums was so registered. ("Dave K" [?] who is no longer on the forums due to a falling out with the powers that be). SD "pulled" his MH registration - and he (and others?) had the choice of commercial or Private Truck (non-commercial). Note that the "Private Truck" registration was NOT a MH registration. As you might expect, he was NOT a happy camper, and fought the re-title - to no avail. Others were simply ignored - and did not suffer the same fate. Unfortunately - the forum has changed formats (or forum server?) at least twice, and that info -and discussion- was lost. Sooooo has SD "modified" the wording/requirements of/for MH registration/title for HDTs - or are the MH titles "slipping through the cracks?"
  22. As I was reading thru the choices.....I was wondering *where* are the (few) HDT owners who tow horse trailers?? Even w/out hay burners, US Rider is a class act! When I had some questions about coverage, I not only received an E-mail reply - but also a USPS reply with an offer to talk to the lady in charge (not a sales person, or dispatcher)....which I did. As you (should) know many horse owners tow with MDTs and HDTs - so they are "tuned in" to what you have. They will tow *whatever* you are driving - and/or towing. YOU just have to be there.. Only ERS that will tow a trailer with live animals. NO hay burner ownership (or transporting same) req'd. And another kudos: My "backup" is American Motorcyclist Assoc (:AMA:) It's a ditto to the above - (whatever you are driving or towing) $50 a year....but limited to 35 mile tow. NO M/C ownership or MCs "on board" required. Only (AMA) requirement is have your membership auto deducted from your CC, and of course - you will receive the monthly AMA mag. When I was HDT searching, I called the AMA to ask about HDTs *inc'l* tandem. The gal I spoke to was great - but was not sure about one or the other (forget which now) - so she gave me the number for the parent company for theri ERS plan (ALL the ERS plans have one). I was pretty surprised at that - but did not follow up on her offer (NO HDT - either single or tandem)......but YES I do have AMA also. I've been around long enough to have had both GS & CN - but fortunately, never had to use *any* of my choices for ERS. Bottom line - check out US Rider & AMA. - talking is cheap (free).!!
  23. CA - (the "excide") - minimum is 1T pickup. "All pu trucks in ca are registered as commercial trucks." - 99% correct - however there are exceptions. .
  24. Kirk's mention of weight should be an alert......to do more research on exactly what generator you really want / need. (IMO) the generator you mention is "overkill' for your needs - - also, *if* you continue with that model - where will you carry it? Also consider noise levels. You may have lots of power available - but prohibited from using it during certain hours. Suggest you do LOTS more investigation of your generator "options" before you make a purchase. The *Tech Issues* forum on RV Net has "everything generator", and may be another good source of/for information.. .
  25. You be the judge: Hmmmmmm.....if he was *NOT* caught (and fined) for his actions, would he be feeling any remorse now? .
