  1. Salty?????? Gee whiz! - I guess "F that Company" (you posted) should mean you gave it - a GRADE of F ?? Moderators must have thought the same. 😉
  2. As opposed to the hundreds with the opposite opinion, huh? With those resources - YOU - need to author a "LIST", ROTFLMAO ~
  3. So I'll add .02 to disagree with your "F" ratings (due to your stupid A reply!) I have a #3. No problems in the 10 years I've had it. Stuff must change after #2, ROTFL ! Agree with "attention getter" posters - not any better that commercials on TV. Some you *might* pay attention to, others = change the channel. Now....... - where's the Bogus Button on the keyboard for: The List (& thread starter), and Carlos. ☚ī¸
  4. X-2 Good advice! Some folks (w/out a MH) already have a very suitable "4-down" toad - and don't need/want a second one (or vice-versa). ~
  5. Repeat at least 5 times: Xlnt plan!! *If* you're worried about freezing temps - wrap with some elect heat tape, or some other plan B. ~
  6. I did that job - under a fiver - and it's way worse than being under your car or truck. Raising the 5er doesn't help a whole lot. It was on concrete with lots of space. (Didn't matter). Sooooo - I added another (secondary & accessible) pull valve in the 3" line, closer to the termination point and easily replaced should the need arise. *If* the "main" valve leaks - it can just leak - or stay open! A "twist on" valve is in the storage bay - as back-up to the back-up. Moral of the story (stories): Take excellent care of your plumbing. BTW - never had any parts/repair insurance on any of the RVs I've had- since 1975! Never needed any. My 5th had 2 years (factory), but the valve problem was long past 2yrs. Guess I'm money ahead on that one......but (one time?) "PITA Repair" ins would have been nice! ~
  7. Bingo !! - ( I) Should have linked this one..... GREAT (Youtube) VIDEO - - "All you need to know" - "RV Waste Valve Repair & Maintenance by RV Education" - Valterra (10minutes!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toD1epBKjnc ...don't forget, click where indicated to- "skip ads" ! ~
  8. Kirk supplied good links in his second post. However - - "..........you can replace them fairly easily, as long as you have reasonably good access to them". The "good access" may be *VERY* difficult access! In the good old days, the valves *were* easily accessible - usually *externally* on the 3" drain pipe....reach down, pull the valve = EASY access! Depending on what type of RV you have, the valve may be *WAY* underneath the RV, and may have a cable (or electric) actuated valve - rather than the "pull handle". Replacement requires you (or the installer) to be underneath the RV. You didn't say what type you have - Often the problem is the cable connection FROM the pull handle TO the valve. - or the valve is not actuating (electric) for whatever reason. It is definitely *NOT* easy access!! - Nor is it an easy job to replace it! - Been there, done that! As others have suggested - try a thorough flush - or multiple flushes. Some folks suggest adding some veg oil in the water (do not use drain cleaners). If it's a cable type - don't try to force the cable! Hard "pulls" (or "pushes") on the cable -to try to make the valve operate- may have initiated "play" in the connection - or a kink in the cable. Mfgrs can be sloppy about the mounting - which allows kinks to be "forced" after years of use. If you don't have any success with that......replacing the valve is necessary. Yes, you could replace *just* the seals - but that requires removing the valve anyway. Google "Valterra Waste Valve" - on the mfgr's site go to "Waste Valves and Accessories". A quick and easy solution - is a Valterra "twist on" valve - which you add to the end of the 3" drain pipe. You then attach a cap or the drain hose (when it's time to drain) as you do now. (Every RV'er should have one - cheap insurance!). Lastly - there are YouTube videos which should help understanding the valves & the process of replacing them. (Google should give you "hits" to those). Ask one of your neighbors! - If they have waste and gray water tanks - they gotta know, LOL. ~
  9. ROTFL !! The last post before jumping to November (2019) - was in.... 2015 !! Wonder if the OP is still trying to decide on the need for a slider ??..😀 ~
  10. Apparently - Thread starter (The OP) "Agesilaus" is on a Crusade of his own !!!...😕 He has posted the same info on RV Net !!! Hmmmmm.....Wonder if HE is the OWNER of the website doing the "driving" ?? ~
  11. "Fast food joints should make their drive through bigger to accommodate:" - Drunks !! 😁
  12. Agree with the above.......if you are in a campground, RV park - ask one of your "neighbors" to take a look. Usually RV owners can be very helpful - and like a "how to" challenge! Two heads are (may) be better than one. ~
  13. Sirius XM: Seriously, (pun) *If* you enjoy Sirius, and prefer *not* to "play THEIR game"........ One year of Sirius - ON or BEFORE the expiration date of your existing service - call the number (you must *CALL*), and cancel. They will try to sell you a new service. Insist on a one year special rate. They have it, they will (eventually) offer it. For me (music only) it's $60. for one year of service. Mark the new expiration "call before" date on your calendar to repeat the process. Another alternate: Simply cancel. Sirius will send you a renewal offer in the mail a month or two after you cancel. Haven't done that one in a while - but it was about $25 for a year's service. The "catch" is always the same......If you fail to cancel before the expiration of your service, it automatically renews at an increased fee of what you were paying previously. Of course - there are other choices / alternatives. BTW - Sirius has been financially in "the red" for lots of years! No clue why it's still "alive". ~
  14. Must wonder *why* this article was posted - as it was on local and national news for several days? RIP to/for the deceased. Now, (past) time to close! ~
  15. "Acelead" - LOTS of replies and suggestions! How about this: Cut to the chase!.. Call "Americas Mailbox" in Box Elder, South Dakota - used to have a Rapid City address, which was an office - in business for a long time - then they purchased land (their campground, which is open) - and necessitated the change to the Box Elder address. VERY well informed, helpful folks! No doubt this has "come up" before! IMO - whatever they would tell you regarding this issue - would be the correct answer ("gospel").....along with any solutions. ~
  16. Some of the "info" is misleading, incorrect - - or simply put: Bad Info. BTW -"Possibly?? - SD Insurance is amazingly inexpensive! Check the population for SD. Real eye-opener when you "return" to a DL from somewhere *other than* SD - and start checking rates! Started checking with the same insurance company - (Millers) - but for a different state. Yikes! Search inc'l all the "hot" referral/suggestions - like USAA. Still a negative "surprise"! Call 'em - and ask 'em!! ~
  17. "Nosepicker" - guess you would already know........ You can pick your friends - and you can pick your nose. But you can't pick your friend's nose......ahhhh....without permission. However you *CAN* pick an insurance company that *WILL* insure your rolling stock with PMB on your South Dakota D.L. Did that for six years from Millers (offices in Oregon, xln't staff). Never a "where garaged?"......... car port, or driveway question! ~
  18. Well Scott - you got *ONE* of your questions answered......The tower won't be on Escapees property. NEXT question: *IF* the tower is built (or construction started) ...... How far away does one need to be - to *safely* vape, smoke a cigarette or cigar ?? Would the combined effects (of two or three) be greater than a single exposure? Could the RF (or?) emitted from the tower cause a vape "cigarette" to explode? Only scientifically documented replies please. ~
  19. "Majestic" brand (Thor) is the normal "re-badge" when it's time to end the RV's rental life by Cruise America. (Cr Am removes the rental graphics, it then "becomes" a "Majestic") Nothing wrong with that - usually Cruise America goes completely thru the RV. The OP didn't say how (private party, dealer?) he acquired the RV. Google: "Majestic RV". On edit: Current re-sales are 2015 and 2016 models. So unfortunately, any Cruise America warranty is long gone. BTW - you can find happy owners of the re-sale units on various forums. ~
  20. YouTube has numerous videos - most(?) after it was "abandoned" in 2012 due to the Fire Marshal closing it down to visitors (and maybe the owner also). Although interesting - it was an accident waiting to happen to/for those who entered- - obviously - at "their own risk"!! Good still photos - http://unusualplaces.org/the-ministers-tree-house-the-largest-tree-house-in-the-world/ ~
  21. Can KETCHUP be substituted for CATSUP ?? 😁
  22. ".......as it would be best to go (to) the trust land website for the latest and greatest". How about a link to - - the trust land website. 😎
  23. Hi Joyce - check the date of the thread starter - looking for a spot on Memorial Day - as well as the date of the last post - which was April 14th........*maybe* you figured that out and simply stopped entering your message...."Try to find a p" .....you can delete. Oh well - yes they can be "(Holidays are) very hard". 😁
