Water pressure regulator is a must - I went with the cheap ones to begin with and found they failed after a year or so, so bought an expensive one with the needle to show you the pressure. Bad thing is they can't be out in freezing weather or they break....two of those later, I saw a post from another RVer about one that is set at 55 gpm and is a reasonable price. On my 2nd one of those ONLY because I left the first one somewhere this summer. You can look at a dozen of the regulators on Amazon and then price check other places to get the best deal. Surge protectors are also important and you can go several ways ($-$$). I have a Progressive portable (not hard wired) and like it because it's easy to read and has been on the spot when low voltage or another problem shows up. Since I full time and visit lots of parks each year I like having a beefy EMS to watch over my trailer. Hey fpmtngal, we were typing at the same time!

Old thread, I know....but just now read the last few posts. Hope all is going well with Tuna. Thanks for telling the 'rest of the story'.

Here's something to throw into the mix of things. Yesterday I saw the on-line reservation/what's available map for a park. It showed I could get a month (June 5 - July 5) - I've stayed there before and it's a fine place. But I couldn't remember if they allowed mail/packages to be forwarded to them, so called before I hit the reserve button. The host who answered remembered me from a few years ago, so told her I was about to make a months reservation on-line...she said well, let me check. Evidently the way their system is set-up, you might get to stay for a month, but have to move to different sites during your stay! One camper had to move 6 times! So she called me back and I am able to spend the first 18 days in a pull thru, then move to a back in for the rest of my stay. I can handle that. It's not just RV traveling that is getting more difficult, Wanted to take my truck into an independent garage I used for 15 years when I lived here....they are out 30+ days for appts! Same with a veterinarian for my cat, just a wellness check is 30 days out. Not sure what it's called when it's paved but not a blue road, but that's where I'm going to head and hope for less difficulty.

14 years ago a stray/feral young cat turned up on my property. I'd always kept a heated water bucket in the barn for whoever needed it as winters were tough on everybody. Put food out but she never came close to me. That spring I'd been to a horse show and upon return the gal who took care of my place said 'oh, your little kittenS are so cute!' Yep, had 4 little ones. Fed them, let them play in cat carriers, took pictures, they were a joy to have around. Was able to trap the Mom, got her fixed. Never did touch her...her eyes told me that wasn't going to happen. A couple months later saw her out in a pasture watching me work in the barn. Never saw her again. I had to believe she just moved on...but at least, she wasn't having litters of kittens any more. The barn cats (also fixed) are still thriving even though I no longer own the property. We do what we can.

Before I went full time I had property, raised a few horses/cattle and had cats. 6 of them, sometimes more, sometimes less (well, not really because they just show up as mentioned above). The cats could stay in the barns or in the house, most all of them loved the wood stove after a long day of hunting. I had moved and was down to one, the youngest of the bunch that had gone on to greener pastures. She was 17, and did well in the RV for a year, then passed. I went a year without, then got the bug for a cat companion. Ended up with a 12 week old kitten who has not known anything but traveling about. Started her in a harness very young and now she's a seasoned walker. We go when she wants, where she wants and come back on her schedule...she's now 3.5 years old. All that to say, lots of people have cats in their full time life. I've seen people let their cats OUT by themselves, I've seen people tether their cat outside, but mostly they are quite happy inside. It takes patience to walk a cat, it's not like a dog at all.....but when it's blowing a gale or snowing or raining or 100 degrees, my cat is very happy to use her litter box and I don't have to take her outside As for the kitten climbing up the outside screen....read The Silent Meow.

You for sure want to be covered, so I'd call Millers and ask/tell - maybe ask for advice. They know the ins and outs and have a good reputation with the RV industry.

I bought one fall 2019 and so glad - for me it's much easier and takes away the 'what if'. I use the split roll of insulation you can get at Home Depot or elsewhere and cut it to cover the faucet and city water inlet. Used it here in Nevada at 17* last winter and in AZ in the teens last Spring. This winter has been warmer and I may not have needed it, but I'll take that chance. For me, better safe than sorry and nothing to fiddle with. I leave it hooked up until we're past the possibility of freeze and then pack it away for next time.

If you want to try a 'free' one, give the Opera browser a try. I've used it for years and have no problem with it and recently have been using their in house free VPN. Works great...just have to laugh when some of the responses to a search come back in Swedish.

Soon after I bought my toy hauler I took out one of the couches that folds down into a bed. Put an ad on Craigs List and within a few days had a fellow want it for an extra trailer on his property. It's the kind that bolts into the floor and exactly what he needed. Worth a try. Have no idea what it was worth but he gave me $100. and we were both happy!

Either I'm not searching for the correct item - or - I have the last one on earth and there are no others! Everything I find is only 3". On this one, the holes for the screws are 3-1/2" apart (3). The complete flange is 5" +/- a smidge. I checked Amazon, etrailer, and a general search, and everything is 3" total. Help, please?

This summer I stayed at an RV park in the mountains of Arizona. This particular park has 90 spaces, 30 are occupied all year, the rest are seasonal with a few saved for short time folks like me. Some are park models, some are 5th wheels, some are travel trailers. When I got there, 2 of the permanents were for sale. During my time there 2 more went up for sale...by the end of summer, all were sold. The permanents were all set up with skirting, large propane tanks, heated water hoses, air conditioners, decks, stairs, etc. That type of RV park might be worth looking into and asking about units for sale. They may not be advertised.

How about getting a trip permit? I got one for a truck with expired tags so I could move it down to the next state and the new owners could license it.
