  1. When my cable went out I received the exact message Linda is geting and my dish would not lock onto any of the satelites. The instructiosn I gave Linda are the specific instructions given to me by Winegard.
  2. Dumb question: Why don't you just mount your charger and hardwire it to the battery posts, just like the starter should be, positive on one battery and negative at the other end? That is a much better connection than those clamps to a battery post. As far as a charger/maintainer I use a Noco Genius G26000
  3. Find a way to get on the roof and swap the connections on the turret marked A with the one marked B. If that doesn't work, swap the original A with C. And then call winegard and order a replacement turret cable. https://winegard.com/products/satellite-tv/roof-mounted-antennas/travler/dish-bell-hd-travler-replacement-lnb-to-turret-cable Thats a lot cheaper than paying someone else to do it.
  4. Works for me :) I have been on satelite for so long I have no 1st hand knowledge. I just remember all the yelling and screaming when the change was made. I guess I would have drank the kool-aid if I was still watching OTA.
  5. Is it possible that his 12 year old antenna (probably a 12 year old coach, who knows how old the antenna really is) predates digital TV signal and is still an analog antenna??

  7. When you sign up it asks for your "home" location, if your device does not have GPS capability. If you continually use a device that it can not locate, then every so often it forces you to log in from the home area. Simple solution, log in with your phone, let it see where you are and then go back to the TV if you can't get back to the "home" location. EDIT: (from youtube) You can only change your home area twice per year. You have to be physically in your new home area to update your home area in YouTube TV. If you're a frequent traveler, make sure to use YouTube TV at least once every 3 months in your home area. This check in makes sure YouTube TV can continue to offer you the correct local networks. Not all devices support the ability to change your home area. If these steps do not work in the YouTube app on your mobile device, use a computer to change your home area.
  8. Dan, my opinion would be to use your states actual web sight to obtain and print the documents, not a 3rd party site. The states sight will have the latest available, newest udpates. You and the cop roadside can't swear to the reliability of 3rd party sights.
  9. I saw them on the road in Schulenburg, Tx on New Years day...and then parked in a fuel station in Halletsville.
  10. You will spend more time polishing all that chrome than driving it.
  11. Lazy, spoiled and cute as hell....in otherwords, the same as when you saw them
  12. Dan, from the resource guide in the HDT forum......read this

    Brakes Frozen

Oh well just make me feel bad, why don't ya? I wish I had a truck new enough to have disc brakes.
  14. Jack, the strange thing was that I needed wifi internet access to connect the ToGo to, so I could go through it to access AT&T to activate the sim card....and it won't connect through my Verizon jetpack. Luckily there was an unlocked wifi in the area so I connected my tablet (using the Winegard Connect app) to the Togo (tunred off it's own internet access and logged into the ToGo network), selected "wifi" and logged into the unknown and unlocked wifi and went through the app to "purchase data" to get to AT&T. Once I purchased the plan, I had to go back into the app and change the ToGo from wifi to 4g. I contacted the Winegard support desk and they were very helpful....or you can call me.
  15. This is what I am getting on This is what I am getting on my ToGo right now.
  16. But it is my understanding that the AT&T data plan offered with the ToGo is not offered for the Connect2. So, if you are going with AT&T then buy the ToGo and get the better plan. I"ve been real pleased with my ToGo so far.
  17. Dan, for what they are paying me I should be able to bank $55-60k in one year..after taxes. The pension is great but I'd like to build up that cash reserve a bit. This seems like the fastest and easiest way to do it. Oh, and for as long as I am employed I get a $200 a month raise on the pension.....I go back 100% on their dime for insurance
  18. No...not gonna make it. Looks like I'm flunking retirement.
  19. Rick, they have stacks of them at the store here. I coulda brought you a couple to Kansas if I had known
  20. You mean this "LINK" EDIT: oops, looks like DM was typing at the same time I was
  21. cactus, I looked up the area on the and I think 2gypsies was right. It wasn't "that" far from a lot of things...even a large subdivision. Like chiefneon said..awareness. This coulda happened anywhere.
  22. You may be over thinking this situation. Many people are murdered for simple reasons, car jacking, theft of small amounts of money, etc. The fact that their RV and truck were seen being taken across the Mexican border may be more than enough of a motive.
  23. Not looking good...The locals are quoted talking about how isolated the area is. That's kind of what boondockers look for. Unfortunately in this day and age you need to be a lot more aware of your surroundings, all the time, even when you think you're alone.
