  1. We have Labs 4 and 2. We started out with leaving them in a crate while we left for a few hours at a time. We love our dogs but we are not those people who have to have our dogs with us 24/7. If we are going to be gone a long time then we use a local Kennel. We do all of the Kennel research in advance. They are great travelers in the the truck and camping. We do not have a way to monitor the inside while we are out and about but those monitoring devices look good. Depending on where you are going in California (I live in NORCAL) the weather isn't to bad one way or the other unless you are in the mountains or dessert. We were in 115 degrees for a week once and never left the dogs alone. I was doing some research on both of these items. The Motorola seems to be $25 a month or $180 per year and doesn't have as many 1 star reviews as the other one. The Marcell is $5 a month but has a bunch of one star reviews from September 2019 for the service being inoperable. Maybe that is fixed now. You can't put a price on pet safety but $25 a month is a little steep. Good luck. James
  2. I live in Antioch, CA (Norcal in the Eastbay) We bought a house with a lot size of 13,000 SF 3 years ago. Our 2 neighbors have even bigger lots. But that's it everyone else is 5K-7K SF lots. We have Owls that live in the trees on our lots. It's pretty amazing to see and hear them. We also have Hawks and Coyotes aplenty around us. A beautiful Hawk was perched on our patio roof recently and we had a "Birdseye" view from our bedroom window. As someone said there is so much building now on what used to be acres and acres of open land these critters have no where to go. We've seen skunks, moles and rabbits as well. I hope to see more when we hit the road.
  3. Oh sh#%^..... thanks I just went and read all of the Yelp Reviews. Lots of great reviews. Very little negativity on plane noise but some. Most negativity was on dog breed restrictions. Go figure. Thanks again for the heads up. James
  4. We will be staying at the Oasis RV Park in Las Vegas at the end of February. Can't wait.
  5. Agreed. I have 2 Honda 2000s and have never used them. I bought them on an Affirm no interest loan. 12 equal payments. but I have them if I need them.
  6. In 1991 we bought a 1978 Field and Stream Class C. That thing was awesome. It was great for the 5 of us. It even had a generator. The next one was a 27' 1984 Allegro Class A. Another GEM.
  7. I can send and receive with Paypal and no fee either way. If not enough funds in my Paypal account it will pull from my checking account which is free. Using credit cards attached to your account is different.
  8. Maybe your being funny but then again maybe not. Yes, most of these Aps have a bar code you bring up. Your friend can scan your barcode and BOOM! he has his money. Some people have no need for these Aps but it is very convenient when buying and selling as appose to cash. I use Venmo, Zelle, and Paypal for my rustic wood business. I simply tell people I'm giving them the cash price so if they use paypal then the fee gets added to the price. We can also take CC. Same scenario. If someone squacks at the fee then for $20 i will eat it.
  9. This is so true. $208 is couch change compared to what a bigger tow vehicle is going to cost.
  10. I hear ya. I'm 45 miles from an Airforce base. It might be time for me to get some of my prescriptions there. But then again $7 to $10 for a 90 day prescription that shows up in my mail box isn't a bad deal. My daughter who is 34, due to her disability she is covered, has a prescription approved for $53 every 3 months which is $1000 month if not covered. So no complaints there.
  11. If he would have done proper checks on his rig to make sure he was ready to roll then most likely he would have not been stopped in the first place..... Dam a few weeks ago I got a $237 ticket for making a left turn 23 minutes before the sign said I could (I didn't see the sign but everyone is a liar). Only $208 in Oklahoma for being overweight? It should be triple that......
  12. Good old Northern California $3.89-$4.25
  13. I love your post and this stuff is spot on. #5 other drivers suck should be #1 and #22 lol. #22 I'm glad My Avalanche doesn't have a bumper. But all of the other trailers we've owned the sewer hose always fit in the bumper. James
  14. I to am a lifelong CA resident. In less than 3 years we will be leaving. I do believe CA is money hungry but I don't think the state is broke. With the high gas tax, property taxes, high sales tax, CRV, $970 to register my truck, $560 5th wheel, $500 for my car, and now you pay a fee for lumber, stains, paints, and just about anything else at a hardware store. The bridges are $7 now, fastrak, etc..... I know CA supports a lot of different groups of folks but they have so many revenue streams I can't possibly believe they are broke. The money is going somewhere. The surplus is over $21 billion. And they are very money hungry. They are working on more taxes...... But when I moved here from WA State it didn't take long for me to get a letter in the mail to register my vehicles or be subject to fines. We camped at many campgrounds in NORCAL and I have never saw a census person. I have had them knock on my door recently getting ready for the upcoming census.
  15. Grand babies are the reason why we went from the class of 2017 to 2022. we have 4 and one on the way at 55 years old. when the oldest graduates high school in 2022 we are out. We can always come back and visit. It will be hard but I'm not postponing anymore. An Alaska trip would be awesome.
  16. I agree with you for the most part. NOT EVERYONE has or will have a negative experience with CW. But statistically negative experiences will get posted way more than positive ones.
  17. I totally agree. I pay for my insurance annually and it's due. I shopped around and no one can beat progressive with the current coverage or even less coverage than I currently have. Another year with progressive. We will try again next year. James
  18. You know the old saying you can polish a turd and it's still a turd. I've done very little business with CW other than buying a few items here and there. Like someone said its fun to window shop there to see all the cool stuff you might not have thought about. I've made one online purchase from them in the last year and I had to return it. There are many other online retailers out there to make purchases from. Also plenty of mom and pop RV repair service places that are very competitive and you get a more personal experience. As far as buying an RV from them read all of the negative comments. Even more so read the ones that read the reviews and still bought from CW and regretted it all because they thought the savings was going to out weigh the hassle and disappointment. James
  19. From my experience make sure you give them notice in writing well before your expiration date or they will charge you again. James
  20. Got mine on amazon. But since you have time do some research and follow the prices. That way you will know when to pull the trigger.
  21. Many? So more don't pick up then do pick up through your tinted glasses?
