  1. FWIW, in most US states it is legal for a lay person to give another person a shot of medication. I give my DW B12 shots every 2 weeks, our Dr and Express-scripts is fine with our arrangement. Injection syringes are sold over the counter at drug stores, but you do have to sign their accountability book and show your driers license, which they record in the book. Same should apply to pets IMO. As to a deceased pet, I'd do the same as for me when I die, direct cremation.

  3. One mfgr of these type vehicles just went out of business. I don't remember if it was Unimog, Earthroamer, Global Expedition Vehicles, or Earthcrusiers.
  4. Most scam calls have a delay between the time you say hello and they come online. When that happens, I let them begin talking then interrupt; saying "you have reached the county morgue". Some of the responses are hilarious.
  5. However trailer bearing should be inspected annually for defects. Well, unless you're the kind that waits for a bearing failure first. And todays wheel bearing grease will settle out over time. I've seen it with one of my farm wagons that sat in a shed for 3 years. I removed the dust caps to see if they had any grease showing and oil ran out of the dust cap. Regardless of advertising all #2 non synthetic grease must meet the same specs.
  6. That would be at CO 149/US 50, right? Weathershare.org only shows heavy traffic there so far.
  7. I was 81 Christmas day. The huge age gap between our generation and those <50 means differences in how we travel and camp. The instant communication on a cell phone of the facebook escapees better fits their needs and lifestyle. I predict the escapees discussion forums will mirror the decline of the FMCA discussion forums, although some years later, as they too have a facebook site.
  8. I'm sorry to hear Pam's getting worse, becoming a caregiver for your life mate is difficult, for me anyway. That IMO is what we signed up for when we married. My wife has gotten so much worse in the last 2 years we are not able to use our MH when/if we ever get it back from the body shop. It's almost too late for us to move to a smaller house. It's all I can manage to keep up the outside work and the inside work. I suspect our move will be from our house directly to assisted-living or a nursing home. Lins want's to downside, sell our 40' MH and buy a smaller RV. One of these electric units appears to meet her needs; if they become available this year. At this point, whatever she wants I plan to make happen while she remains mobile.
  9. Those are really cool! Thanks for posted them Derek.
  10. Gonna be difficult to move @ 308 lbs. https://eg4electronics.com/backend/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/EG4-14.3kWh-PowerPro-WallMount-AW-Spec-Sheet.pdf
  11. For $3,800+ installation and taxes it's a big investment.
  12. When you look at the trailer it has what was called a "suicide door", hinged on the aft side.. When it came open the wind over-powered her and pulled her out. I suspect, since they were en-route to somewhere to watch the eclipse, there were more people than seats in the tow vehicle. This is a very tragic accident the driver will never forget. In Indiana the driver is responsible for the safety of all passengers. For instance if the vehicle is pulled over and a passenger is not wearing a seat-belt, the driver is ticketed. Likewise with people riding in a truck-bed, driver is ticketed. As to Airstream design; when you look at their website, some are hinged on the forward side, some aft. It depends on floorplan and awning arm positioning. The Airstream involved has an awning arm beside the door so close if the door had hinges on the forward side the door would hit the awning arm. I do suspect a design change in the Airstream future.
  13. The Dexter Axle recommendation to repack and inspect wheel bearing annually or at 12,000 miles is a preventative measure to make sure slightly damaged bearings are caught before having an expensive failure that might also ruin the spindle, cause an accident or complete loss of a wheel. I lost a wheel from a flat-bed trailer while hauling a tractor due to neglecting that recommendation. the job is not difficult, just messy-bit that's why vinyl mechanics gloves are sold.
