    • Sign painters are not painters anymore, they are camera to computer designers.  Take them a picture of the design you want, they will put on the computer and give you the colors you want. Most sign companies can do this and a whole lot less than CDI paint in forest city ,IA
    • With all due respect, I believe that all standard Medigap supplemental plans are national.  The plans that are regionally based, are the Medicare Advantage Plans which combine your Supplemental and Part D payments into a combined plan which is managed like a PPO/HMO.  It's more difficult for full-timers to use an Advantage Plan unless they intend to stay in the plan's geographic area much of the year. It's worth noting that if you want any coverage outside of the US I believe you have to buy one of a selected set of Supplemental Plans.  They don't provide a lot of coverage, but they do offer $50k of emergency treatment coverage which probably would be enough to get you back to the US.   FWIW lots of folks on this forum subscribe to Supplemental Plans F or G.  They pay pretty much everything that Medicare A and B don't pay.  I've had a Plan F for 6 years and haven't paid a dime other than my premiums.   The only difference between the two is that Plan F includes the Medicare Part B deductible whereas Plan G doesn't.  I believe F is being phased out unless you already have it so you may have to sign up for G.
    • This is a follow-up report on my 9K btu mini-split heat pump install after our trip out west to Idaho for the WCR and several points in between. I did a lot of work on the truck's dash AC and got it working great.  About two hours out, the dash AC quit.  The truck blew the F6 fuse that feeds the fan clutch solenoid, the environmental controls, and the AC monitor.  Have not figured what is wrong with that, yet.  It is not the fan clutch solenoid.  I disconnected it and the fuse blew again immediately.  Anyway, we had to run the mini-split all the way to Idaho and back to Virginia, set to 71 degrees.  It ran off the 1000 watt inverter fine until the outdoor temperature got to 90 degrees and then it would not keep up.  It did keep up when running off the 3KW Honda generator. Obviously, we could not run the mini-split AC and the truck microwave at the same time. This 9K btu unit is much quieter than my old 12K btu.  We could sleep in the cab.  If it did cycle on/off, we did not notice.  While at a campground and not in the truck,  I forgot to turn off the inverter one night and it ran for about 10 hours and did not kill the truck batteries but it was reasonably cool out and would not have required a lot of run time. We did not get a chance to run the heat side of the heat pump.
    • Yes a hotspot or modem use a line.  But the new "unlimited" plans limit limit the data traffic thru hotspots and modems to 15 GB per the total plan.  And when they say throttle down, if it is anything like TravelPass, when they throttle, it is hard to do a ping let alone any data traffic.
    • If you have a CB radio you can usually hear polishers offering their services in the parking lot at a lot of truck stops in the south. And yes once they are properly polished they stay nice looking and are easy to clean for many years after that.
