There were not too many people out for the campfire tonight. I guess there were too many football games or too much Desert Bar. Thats all right it gave us a lot more people to talk about. Jim and I ended up being the die hards and sat out there batting the breeze until there was nothing left but coals.

It's been a busy, busy time in Q. We've held the graduation ceremonies with the burning of the mortgages and awarding of the certificates. Our class is no longer the 2008-2009 class. We have classmates from 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and now 2012. In other words, we're an all-class class. We actually thought of a term we liked better. We're the Class-less Class. Obviously, there is a double meaning to that. Now that's not to say everyone can join. We know that's not true but we are known to invite new Escapee class members to join us and we get one or two a year. Thus, we're thinking we might just change our little forum title and start a new one for those without class. Keep posted, Mates. :D

.I think it is great that classes of 2010, 2011 ,2012 are included in the get togethers of the Class- Less Class. I just hate to see this thred dropped, as there is a 2010, 2011, and 2012 thred's on the forum. I just wanted to bump this one back up. [Certanly not wanting to exclude anyone]

I agree. I don't post often and haven't been to a reunion in several years, but I do enjoy reading posts of people I actually know. Unfortunately, I haven't met many of the new members of the Class -Less class. Gonna have to get out to AZ again soon!

We seem to be stuck in Q - and that is all Good - Well - sort of :

Mike ordered a computer and when it arrived it did not work - so now we are waiting on a replacement. Then I planned a trip to Florida using air miles - by the time I arranged the eye Dr appt for Mike === the price of tickets for flying went up $200 each plus all our miles- Good thing we plan in jello - now we will hang in Arizona til April then onto Denver- and will fly to Florida for Mike's eye surgery from there.

Pa and Di showed up after the boot camp which of course leads to more campfires, food and stories!!!

Plus we drove to Yuma and saw Freddie and Dulcie - fun time in Mexico and at the casino!!

Hello Jim and Sandie!

2008 and 2009 works for me. Saves time from reading 2 threads! But what is time anymore? lol

We are in Florida. Been here since Dec 1. Getting ready to start venturing North again. Northern GA, to look at the waterfalls and mountains, then to Easteren Ohio, then down to West Virginia... then to Indiana, then to Texas. Don't know after that. We retired so we wouldn't have to plan to far ahead.... lol.

We've held up in Florida for the last 4 winters. We may try South Texas next winter... talked about it but no plans. We are planning on spending more time out West.... NM, AZ, OR, WA, MT.. etc. But we talk and talk and talk.... then one day she makes up her mind.. lol. But life is great! It's worth the living. So much country to see and so little time.

Hey..... class of 2008 and 2009.... do you guys have a bucket list you can share? So far we have the Grand Canyon and Red Wook trees on our bucket list.... what's on your's? (we need ideas... lol )

Happy Trails to you....

Get one of those National Parks passport books and start collecting stamps. You'll never need another idea of where to go next. :)

The join geocaching.com and you'll never run out of things to do wherever you are.

So good to hear from you guys again. I could give you a whole bucklet list just of things to see and do here in AZ. I know others have lists of things to do in TX.

Canyon de Chelly

Monument Valley

Zion National Park

Bryce National Park

Route 66 stops across the country

Bisbee, AZ

The Chiricahua in southeast AZ

all kinds of ghost towns and hiking areas.

California has incredible places to see. All through the whole state. New Mexico is another state that we love to explore.

And like Linda said - all the National Parks and Monuments.

Thanks to Steve and Carol for a great time at the casino. We told them where we were parked and after watching them circle for ten minutes I finally pushed Glyn in front of their truck so they would stop and pick us up. After lunch Steve promised to show us the ice cream but after weaving around the machines and loosing sight of him I had the idea he was trying to loose us in the crowd. He could not out maneuver me and I found it at last. After all that sugar we were so wound up we drove to Jackson,TN to wait for Casey Jones to open and fix us breakfast. I think we had all that wind from out west pushing us the whole way.

I think we'll pick some extra 'Grandpa's Brew' while we are in TN to share in Q next year.....for medicinal purposes of course.....it should cut through all that green stuff IYQ has had lately.

We'll leave the lights on this summer in WY for y'all.

We expanded our class to take in newbies we met in Quartzsite which was good. Then we changed the name to make everyone we'd met feel included which intent was good. Then everyone we haven't met felt welcome to participate on-line, too, which MAY not be so good.

I feel like we've lost our identity. We're no longer a group within Escapees since we've made all Escapees feel welcome whether we've met them or not. In the process, I feel like we're losing our cohesiveness as a group. Which may be good?

Except now I feel like we're in competition with other Escapee groups including the official welcoming group who hosts the happy hours. That's probably not a good thing since we can't give the newbies the information they can get from the official group.

Plus we may be robbing newer fulltimers of the chance to make their own connections. The original idea was that people who went fulltime the same year would all be facing similar situations so could support one another through those transitions. Some of our class has been out there five years now; do we remember what it was to be new?

What say you all?

Linda

I agree with Linda. I like the idea that everyone is welcome in our group but it seems we have lost our idenity. Don't want to seem clicky but I would like to keep this thred alive too.
