Isn't it great living the FT life style?

Every day is a Saturday for me, and Marcia is having to look at the watch I bought her that has the days of the week on it every time she needs to know what day it is.

As much as we enjoyed the southwest, (and I want to get back there soon) we are enjoying the southeast.

I'm looking forward to finding a place I can drive the rig out on the beach on the right coast like I did on the left coast last fall.

Marcia still gets excited when she can put another state on our map, 23 since Aug of 07, and getting that many just shows how much we have missed along the way. But that gives us the excuse to visit them all again.

Everyone enjoy themselves, and be safe in your travels. we are looking forward to seeing all of you again, (or for the first time).

If I don't have my atomic clock with the day of the week showing or my computer with my little calendar in the sidebar showing what day of the week it is, I'm screwed! LOL! Every day feels like Saturday...

I'm still in Tucson but HOPE HOPE HOPE to be headed out of here on the 19th, going towards Moab for a bit before heading back to Williams, AZ for the Grand Canyon HOP.

Since we last checked in:

  • Today we head for Williams and the Grand Canyon. We'll be staying in Williams through Monday, then if we can get into any of the Forest Service campgrounds closer to the the Grand Canyon, we'll hang around a little longer.

Hope to see some of you on the road.

Yesterday we moved our home from Apache Junction to Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood,AZ. The dogs love it, now they have grass, dirt, and trees. This after 6 months of stones and pavement, not their favorite. We are looking forward to our time here, the views are beautiful, temps cooler, and so much to see in the area. Life is good.

Greetings all

First of all, we are two folks you never heard of...lol...as we have met none of you and rarely post here...I guess we are the 'shy' members of the class. Our intention was to be in Quartzsite this past January but family matters precluded our leaving in time.

With the 'late' departure we decided to take a left turn and head to the east coast instead of the west. So we have been muddling around chasing the good weather. Currently we are heading back to Lincoln Nebraska for the Spring Football game - yes we are big college football fans. So we find ourselves north of Topeka Kansas - it is COLD. We will stay in Lincoln for a month and then head to Wisconsin for the summer as we STILL have a house there to 'get rid of' - but I prattle on.

Reason we write today is - next year's (2009)reunion. Apologies to the couple that are coordinating this effort as we don't remember who they are. There was mention it would probably be in Texas in March. We are wondering if anything has been decided as we would like to plan to be there if at all possible. We will be in the Mission TX area December and January and then hope to go to the Big Bend Area and then.......

If anyone can shed some light on when? where? if at all? We would appreciate the info.

Thank you and hope to actually meet some of ya'll in the future.

Cheers

Hey Gang,

We moved, we are now at Buck Hall Rec Area just north of Charleston SC. in the National Forest.

A very nice CG, small with 14 large spots. It is screwed up by Reserve Americia but we hope we can work around them for a couple weeks here.

Hi Guys. I think Fay called most of you. She has been on the phone most of the day. As you know we have been out of the MH for two weeks and in our old house in Okla. It is good to be back. It it is funny, this house on wheels feels like home now.

The MH road out the storms in Mason Tx. with no damage and we picked it up yesterday. We are now in Killeen Tx. and will be camp host for six weeks. We are at a horse place and Fay has already met some ladies to ride with.

Anybody that gets to "this neck of the woods" stop by.

Hello classmates,

We finely found those elusive 70s. icon_cool.gif We landed at Dead Horse Ranch State Parkk in Arizona yesterday and plan to hang around for a couple of weeks. It's a great park just outside Cottonwood and not too far from Sedona, etc... Lots of hiking trails and nearby sightseeing. One of the SKP chapters is having a rally here this weekend and the park is host to a Birding and Nature Festival next week.

Let us know if you are in the area.

Hey Class............We have arriven....Back in good ole Colorado!..Hooked up again last week with the Bubars,,,,and had a grand time visiting in Utah. Saw Canyon Lands,Bryce Canyon, Arches and other great sights. We left heading for home for the summer, stopping at Mesa Verde along the way, as Bobbie had never been there. I had not been back since August of 1996, during the Chapin Five fire, when our fire dept was called for structure protection. There was a fire history in the visitors center with a pic of the fire closing in on the visitors center....the structure we were assigned to protect. Sure brought back memories. Today....weeelllllllllllll,,,,, woke up to snow! The weatherman does say back to the 60's and 70's tomorrow.....woooohooooo!

If you're in the area...we would love to see ya again. We're here through Labor Day. Safe travels to all!

We volunteered at CARE last Nov. & Dec and its been good visiting again. We'll leave here next week and head over to Natchez Ms. to follow the Natchez Trace up to Nashville. I've added a link to some pictures of the Class of 2007 name on the Plaque at the CARE center.

I am now at The Ranch in Lakewood, NM. Due to water problems in Lakewood, The Ranch is in the process of installing a reverse osmosis system, and while this is being done, water is being supplied by a truck which comes around. So for a while it is best to arrive here with a full fresh water tank. The people here are friendly, so lack of water should be no reason to stay away if any of you are in the area. I will probably pull out of here on Monday, April 28th, as there is a lot to see in this area - Carlsbad and Roswell just to name a few.

Hi Everyone!

We have been without internet/satellite connection so we will give a short update.

We were in Grand Canyon which is beautiful & well worth the trip. Norah & Howie came up so we got a short visit with them. It was so much fun to "catch" up with them. Nice weather there warmish in the 70s most days with cool nights.

From there we headed around (east) past the Painted Desert. Then west past the Vermillion Cliffs & on up to Zion NP which is also beautiful. We went the long way going on Hwy 389 to Hwy 9, going in from the south. (The east entrance to Zion has a 1.1 mi tunnel with height & width restrictions. It also has some "S" curves/switchbacks that might intimidate anyone afraid of heights & not much for guardrails. Most RVs can get a scheduled escort thru the tunnel with prior arrangements.)

Zion was beautiful & the weather very pleasant. We weren't in shorts, but there were a lot of hardier folks who were. We enjoyed the shuttle thru the park & a couple of nice walk/hikes in the canyon.

We were supposed to go to Bryce today (Fri), but they are predicting lows in the high teens with the possiblity of snow!!!! We started rethinking our route at that point.

For the same amount of driving time, we are now back in Las Vegas where it is in the 80's. We will wait a week or 2, some of you already mentioned it was a "little" early to go north.... You were right as far as we are concerned.

It is so good to have this page to "keep in touch" with everyone & to meet new classmembers.

STAY SAFE & warm or cool whatever your preference.

Heading out tomorrow for Williams, AZ and the train trip to the Canyon. Then hope to be back in Minnesota (Twin Cities) on the 29th for the birth of a Grandson!!!

Hi Charles & Nancy,

Been wondering how you guys have been.

Hope your family finds have been sucessful.

The Williams train trip is the SKP HOP we signed up for in May. They offer dog sitting icon_smile.gif! You'll have to let Woodie try them out icon_wink.gif & let Rhythm & Yoda know if they are nice & reliable

Let us know if you come through our way this summer. We should be back by end of May. Not in a hurry. Our daughter says it snowed yesterday & they had 5in of snow on the deck & It was still snowing & hail too.

We seem to have made a wrong turn somewhere:

16West_1349.JPG

A week ago it was +20C, the trees were getting ready to bud out and the grass was turning green. And now this. And the forecast is for worse starting today. There's supposed to be some great big hummer of a storm coming out of Montana and its going to drop 18" of snow on us. Wonderful - simply wonderful.

I love the snow on the windshield photo. We are in Billings Mt. and had very much the same view. We enhanced the view with a 12 degree overnight low on Sunday night. That's Farenheit. A record low for this area and for our RV lifestyle. Did you ever pull in all the slides just to reduce the volume of space to heat. We survived real well. Left the furnace up a little to heat the water bays and snuggled under the electric blanket. Don't you love it when some says "wish you were here?" Now would I do that to you? icon_wink.gif

Hey all you FTers seeing the white stuff, all I can say is your too far north. (except we saw it a few times in AZ (southern) this past winter). Maybe we all need to go to Mexico and stay until the blackberries bloom.

We mover a little futher north ourselves yesterday. 60 miles north to Myrtle Beach, yea I know 60 miles in one day was pushing it, but we got an early start.

The best part was we got to see Molly and Bob Pinner !!!! icon_biggrin.gif Molly is always the greatest hostest. It is really good to see other class mates again.

We will be hear for a couple days before heading north west back towards KY. I have to be back June 4th so we will have plenty time to work our way back.
