Veteran's Day, 2020

Thanks for the list Kirk.  It is great what all these businesses are doing to honor veterans.  I have only taken advantage of a Veteran's Day discount once, and I didnt feel all that comfortable doing it.  I did what my country asked when they asked and dont feel the need to be thanked for doing my duty to my country.

Personally, I think all those who served deserve to be thanked for doing what they did for the rest of us. I certainly am glad I didn't have to serve so I appreciate those who did--including you.

I noticed  a few that have been on in the past are not there this year and I suspect the Covid situation may be the reason. I have only taken advantge of a few of these and in most cases it felt fin but one or two I felt a little awkward for some reason.  I applaud all that are making the effort to show appreciation and it does make me feel goodwill toward them and am more likely to patronize them and make a point of verbalizing my appreciation.

Very well said and I agree.

I didn't say this before but as much as I appreciate it, I didn't do  a few of the eateries because I can't bring myself to stand in line to eat that long anymore.  😀(my choice not disrepect for the business') One I have done a few times I happened to think they  had a bar and asked if I could order and eat at the bar expecially since I was there alone.  Once at the location I was eating at the bar on a busy regular night and mentioned the bartender how I apprecianted the business doing that.  When I asked for the ticket the couple that had been sitting next to me had overheard me and paid for my meal before they left.   This particular  restruant in not normally open until 5pm weekdays but open just for Vets on veterans day.
