Kirk W
I have great admiration for the teachers who work hard at their profession and take pride in being good at it. Many of them truly are dedicated to the children that they teach but that is far from true for 100% of the teachers out there. For some reason, the teacher organizations protect the teaching misfits just as carefully as the talented & caring teachers. In all careers in private industry, pay and promotions are based on merit and those who get the best results in their jobs also get the most pay. That is not true for teaching and I know only a very few teachers who support merit pay. Unfortunately, in our public schools, the very best teachers tend to get promoted to administrative positions in order to make more money. Teacher merit pay has merit: new report Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... This seems to be the case in many more situations than just teachers. Police, politicians, military, all over the board.
