slackercruster
Is it easy to park near the Gateway Arch in St. Louis? I was passing near there on a trip and wanted some photos. I wasn't budgeting much time for it, so wondered if there is aproblem parking RV's? I got a large truck camper. Thanks
Kirk W
We visited the arch several years ago and found it to be well worth our time. As far as getting pictures of the arch, you really don't get much from up close, as the arch is far too large for close in pictures, but if you have the time you should stop and visit as well as going to the top. As to parking, the best answer is to quote from the Gateway Arch webpages. Travel to the Gateway Arch easily through a variety of transportation and parking options. As part of the City Arch River project celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Arch, the Arch grounds and Jefferson National Expansion Memorial are currently under construction. Drive | Determine which exit to take from each interstate, and where to park in downtown St. Louis. Please note that there is no dedicated parking for the Gateway Arch. You may also want to look at the satellite pictures from Google Maps. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... TXiceman
We were through there 1.5 years ago and with all of the construction near the Arch, we had a difficult time finding a place to park the one ton dually. Hopefully they have improved things in this time. No problem getting a place to park a smaller vehicle. OU812
We visited the Gateway Arch last month( Sept.) Well worth it The first time was in 1967, for me. A example of what we (Americans) can do before all the regulations. Parking.....work is still going on,,,,,, I would check for bus parking on the internet or call the Arch and ask. Agene look on the internet under the parks department.. OU812
Ramblin Reck
We were just there in September on a Thursday about 2pm and had a great time. We parked at the Church which is located at the entrance of the Arch for $15 with no problems (with our DRW). There is alot of parking around the ballpark which is about 5 blocks or so away. Street parking was tight, and I did not try any of the parking garages. There is alot of construction at the base of the Arch as they are creating a green space (park) on both sides of the Arch and from the Arch to the Old Capital Building, which is a great place to a photo of the Arch. We will visit again in a couple of years once the park construction is finished, but DW said "once is enough" in going up into the Arch ! dblr
We were there this past June, lots of construction and nowhere really close to park a rv. We stayed at the casino Queens campground you could probably park in their truck parking near the campground and take the Metro over I think it cost around $5 or so for the round trip. 2017 River Stone Legacy 38MB 2001 T2000 Kenworth 2009 Smart Passion ET Junior hitch

whatsnext
We also visited the Arch in July and stayed at the Casino Queen campground. There was also room to park at the casino and you could take the train to the Arch. It was a great visit. The view from the top is unreal. See the NPS documentary before you go to the top. rynosback
Off topic, I just went up into the Arch yesterday. They are getting ready to close the rides up until late March as they are replacing the motors for the elevators. 2015 Ram 3500 RC DRW CTD AISIN 410 rear 2016 Mobile Suites 38RSB3
