  1. Well, since we're not supposed to get those markets at all unless we're actually there, it's hard to complain too much...
  2. Change your "Service Address", not your "Billing Address", to the market you want to receive. I use the Dish chat system with a pre-written script to save time.
  3. As long as we can stream pretty much uninterrupted, I'm satisfied with the available speeds what ever they happen to be. Since we typically move every couple of weeks or so, any speed issues we might find aren't going to last very long, and our Max Amp has kept us online a number of times where our neighbors were struggling. Bottom line, I don't bother doing much speed testing other than out of curiosity once I establish which of our two carriers has the better service in each location.
  4. Two situations where I will pull in instead of backing in: With the motorhome, when there's a fantastic view to the rear of the site and it's allowed, and with our SUV, when I need to be able to fully swing open the rear door for loading. Since for us, the fantastic rear views are typically at state or national parks, there usually isn't another site close enough to be an issue.
  5. Thanks for the verification on NY and Sacramento, Rover! That's four markets we can count on at least...
  6. This the current list I have. I've recently verified Bluefield, WV and Jacksonville, FL.
  7. Ok, here's what Speedof.me just gave me, still here in the Adirondacks: https://speedof.me/show.php?img=190521024431-6209.png Fast.com is bouncing all over the place, so I'm not sure what to make of that...
  8. My previous test was done at Jonetown KOA in Jonestown, PA. The tower there was in easy eyesight Here's what I'm seeing here in the southern Adirondacks: I'll try the other test sources for comparison soon...
  9. Dish moved many of the more popular channels from 72.7 to 61.5 a few years ago, so now there's a lot of HD national programming there as well as many eastern states locals. The problem with only getting 61.5 on the eastern arc means you still need a clear line of sight to the 110 and 119 sats for full coverage. That's when getting the full eastern arc is important on heavily treed sites. Since much of 61.5 is duplicated on 77 in SD, I've been in a few spots where I could squeeze 72.7 and 77 through a small gap in the trees, but not the wider spread 61.5 and 72.7. I still got the full national channel coverage, just not all of it in HD.
  10. The Pathway X2 is still the only dome available that can receive the full eastern and western arc satellite sets. That's the model I recommend for anyone wanting the most aiming flexibility with a portable self aiming dome. As said, like all the domes, it is restricted to certain Dish receiver models.
  11. Like Glenn, we stream extensively and have for quite some time now. I've not noticed any slow downs that affected our viewing, but with speeds like the ones shown below, even a 50% drop wouldn't be noticeable.
  12. "Network management" simply means that your tower access priority is temporarily reduced while the tower is heavily loaded with traffic. We have both Verizon and AT&T hotspots that are network managed, and have not seen a speed drop that noticeably interrupted our streaming so far, even at peak usage times.
  13. You might consider getting a card from the NY Public Library as well. We sometimes find e-books there that our local library Overdrive access doesn't list. https://www.nypl.org/library-card
  14. "Libby.com" brings up a site selling email services... "Libby" (no '.com') is an Overdrive library services app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.overdrive.mobile.android.libby
  15. My wife and I have library cards with e-book access with a regional library in upstate NY and the NY City Public Library (open to all NY state residents). We also have Amazon Prime and Amazon Kindle Unlimited subscriptions and subscribe to Book Bub and several other reading mailing lists featuring free and low cost e-books. We're both prolific readers...
  16. The "Contact Us" button at my link above opens my Thunderbird email in write mode here. The address is "support@socialknowledge.com".
  17. Which site, Ray? The Social Knowledge site is here.
  18. The external hard drive allows you to record one sat channel with the X2, and if your Dish receiver has an OTA module, you can record one or two OTA channels at the same time, depending on receiver and module model. You can also watch a recorded program while recording other programs or watch one channel while recording the others, so it isn't quite as limiting as it might seem at first.
  19. The difference though, is that Social Knowledge, LLC's primary business model is running revenue producing display advertising on the forums they host. I don't say that's a bad thing though. Selling "eyeballs" has kept Google in lunch money for quite awhile...
  20. And to answer Kirk's question, yes, Social Knowledge is advertising supported.
  21. In remote locations, I've even made arrangements with a local diner in the nearest town to receive a package for me. In one place a few years ago, when I asked a park ranger for suggestions for receiving a package, he offered to receive it at his home and drop it off to me. Other times I've arranged for packages to be received at a UPS Store, Mail Box Store, or similar mail service stores that we'll be passing by in a few days. Sometimes you just have to think outside the box a little...
  22. General Delivery, Hold for Pickup, UPS Store, a friendly local store, etc., would seem to be some of your options then.
  23. Using my UPS MyChoice account, I can elect to have individual SurePost packages delivered by UPS instead of USPS for an additional fee.
  24. I looked at an RV a few years ago that had "stacked" roller shades, an off white shade that passed a fair amount of light with a room darkener shade mounted just above it so either one or even both could be pulled down as desired. The shades appeared to be standard stock that you would find at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
