  1. The chat system has always been my go-to service address change, although I do sometimes use the app now as well. I would guess about 90% of the time, the CSR's have gotten my changes right on the first try, with just an occasional failure to update the guide when they forgot to set the correct flag. More commonly, they forget to uncheck the default screen setting, and my billing address gets changed as well, but that's simple to fix with the MyDish account. But as I said, 90% of the time they get it all right. For Scott: I have a note to myself on my pre-written script for the Roanoke DMA to remind me its western arc only. "Fool me once...
  2. The receiver doesn't know where you are, only what the updated data signal tells it. The update signal does not come from the new spot beams.
  3. I have occasionally used the chat system to change the locals to a new location before leaving the old location, but the receiver was on and receiving a signal. The guide would update, but not surprisingly if I was not within the new spot beam's footprint, attempting to tune to one of the new channels resulted in a no signal error. The reverse also occurs, if the receiver was on a previous local channel when turned on at a new location.
  4. For the Dish chat service, I have a file of pre-written scripts for most of the locations we've visited. I just pull one up that's in the DMA I want. Now it's quicker to just use the app of course, unless I want a different DMA than where I am.
  5. In an otherwise suitable coach, take a look up under the driver's seat. The swivel mounts in both our current and previous coach have multiple holes that permit locating the seat with different clearances, plus the usual slide adjustment. Also, in our coach, the slide has about a 3" lip on the inside trim and seal that would allow the seat to move further back for driving when the slide is in. You would have to make sure to move it forward again before extending the slide though.
  6. Last year I installed an AP Products Slim Shade Window in a fellow's TT door that had no window. Careful measuring and cutting made the installation pretty easy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MRRNQNP/
  7. The sock got boiled with every use, and thoroughly rinsed after use. It was basically just a cotton "bag". Noting unsanitary about that. What material was your coffee "bag" made from?
  8. In my tent camping days, my "coffeemaker" consisted of a pot for boiling water and a white sweat sock. The grounds went in the sock that was then dropped in the water. When the coffee reached the desired strength, the sock was removed, turned inside out, and rinsed for the next use. Of course it didn't stay white for very long...
  9. Lately, I'm starting to see more cashless credit/debit card only stores and restaurants. Not a lot yet to be sure, but it does seem to be a growing trend in some areas.
  10. If you're happy with only the network programming available on ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, that's fine for you. On the other hand, we enjoy programs on PBS, CW, myTV, ION, and others that aren't carried by DNS. A wider choice is nice given the dearth of good programming available these days.
  11. We like getting the locals where we are for more than just the news and weather. There's also the lesser network and independent stations that aren't available with DNS. Where we currently are in northeastern NY for instance, we're getting 13 primary local channels on Dish, but only 3 channels OTA. That gives us a much larger selection of programming than we would get with DNS. And it doesn't cost an extra fee...
  12. I would as well... I originally posted the website info before Terri passed that info along.
  13. And of course the "Forgot password?" link was broken I suppose... ☺️
  14. A lot of things are "possible", but it's not like she didn't know where to find the previous owner.
  15. " From http://mydakotaaddress.com/About Us.htm "MyDakotaAddress.com, a division of Dakota International Services, LLC, is locally owned and operated by Mr. Jon Knuths and managed by Ms. Terri Lund." Apparently no one had time to update the MDA site in the 4-5 years since the ownership changed hands...
  16. Someone mentioned the high cost of RV'ing in Florida earlier, so I thought I'd mention that for the 64 nights we stayed there last winter in 7 different state and national parks, and 1 private park, we averaged just about $20/night. Florida can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be expensive.
  17. According to a previous post, Terri has said the closure is for "financial reasons". If another post was correct, the state tax folks shut them down, which would certainly be a "financial reason". How much information are the customers entitled to for other than curiosity? Knowing the gory details won't change anything...
  18. Of course she should be held responsible... Not being an MDA customer, I have no particular loyalty to Terri, but I do believe we shouldn't be too judgmental without knowing all the pertinent facts.
  19. Since Terri has reportedly been the owner for 4/5 years, I'm surprised she's never updated her website to reflect that change. http://mydakotaaddress.com/About Us.htm
  20. Did you read Terri's message, Joel? She said the USPS forwarding would not be in place until next week.
  21. Yes... https://www.bankeasy.com/locations-atms/madison-sd/
  22. Whether it's bankruptcy or the SD tax folks shutting it down, it seems a bit odd that a bank president would let his side business get in this situation.
