  1. If you can live with a tethered tablet instead of a hotspot, AT&T has a $30/month unlimited plan. It's deprioritized after 22GB, but so far that hasn't been a problem on our similar Connected Car plan. Click on "Tablets and Other Mobile Devices". https://buyasession.att.com/sbd/Common/ShopRatePlans.action
  2. Would one of the dynamic IP services work for your application? https://dyn.com/dynamic-dns/ https://www.noip.com/remote-access
  3. I think the only penalty the USPS could impose would be to return the mail to the sender marked "Undeliverable as addressed".
  4. I should add that some of the cheap regulators do in fact restrict flow, but that's just a function of the smaller passage size through them, not a part of the pressure regulation. If the flow rate is adequate to meet the needs of the user, then it's of no consequence. A single person in an RV that never opens more than one faucet at a time for instance, might never notice any flow restriction from the smaller passage, where they might well notice an over pressure condition if it caused a plumbing failure.
  5. One test of any pressure regulator is the measured pressure on the output side when no flow is present. If the output pressure stays within specs, it's being regulated, not just restricted. A restriction only will allow the output pressure to rise to the incoming line pressure when there's no flow to restrict. I've tested low cost "barrel" regulators from Camco, Valterra, and Fairview, using gauges before and after the regulator with 100 PSI high flow input. In every case, they performed as regulators, not "restrictors", with just small output pressure jumps when the flow was cut off abruptly at the output. Even Camco's $5 plastic regulator performed adequately, although it's easily damaged, making it a poor choice in that regard. The Fairview regulator had the highest flow rate, followed closely by Valterra's high flow model.
  6. If Verizon's deprioritization works like AT&T's, you may not know whether your being deprioritized or whether it's just the normal slow downs we all see on heavy congested towers at times.
  7. I'll have to pay more attention when I see Dish service trucks in RV parks. I know they're not all there for new installations, but they may be authorized dealer trucks.
  8. When I ordered the free voice remote Dish was recently offering to some subscribers, they automatically set it to ship to my service address. I had to contact them to get it sent to my billing address instead, since we can't receive mail or packages at the service address. I'd think they would do the same with service requirements, sending the tech to your current service address.
  9. We've changed the toilet in our last three motorhomes, sometimes with a different model but the same brand, other times with a different brand. The mounting point for all brands is the same standard floor flange used for residential toilets. Sometimes it needs to be rotated to a different bolt pattern orientation, but that's all. The bigger issue is usually making any needed changes in the flush water supply location.
  10. 2 minutes to disassemble the cassette from the top of the toilet, walk it over to the nearest bathroom facility, dump it, return to your site, and reassemble the toilet, perhaps adding more water if needed? There's a number of other dump stations available in the Moab area for a one time dump and done for another week: https://www.sanidumps.com/rvdumpscity.php?citynum=982&city=Moab&cityradius=1
  11. How many times would you have to dump your cassette over the course of those ~2 weeks? We would dump our black tank just once between Canyonlands and Arches, most likely at the free dump site at the Maverick station in Moab, and once again after Arches at a location based on our next stop.
  12. A "vault toilet" is the modern high capacity equivalent to the old "outhouse" or "pit toilet" that was located over a hole dug directly in the ground. The "vault" is a large holding tank, usually concrete, that can range from several hundred to several thousand gallons capacity. They're emptied periodically using standard septic system pump out equipment instead of being moved over a fresh hole periodically as was done in the outhouse days.
  13. Actually, I do plan to use the app to change our locals to St Marys, GA, but I'll do it while we're staying there at Crooked River State Park in January. If I wanted to change my locals to St Marys without being there, then I would use chat of course. We probably won't change locals again until we get down to Alafia River State Park southeast of Tampa, FL in March, and I'll use the app there as well.
  14. Yep, and that's why when we're in central to northern Florida we use a St Marys, GA service address that gets the Jacksonville, FL locals without the FL 9.07% satellite TV services tax.
  15. The chat system has always been my go-to service address change, although I do sometimes use the app now as well. I would guess about 90% of the time, the CSR's have gotten my changes right on the first try, with just an occasional failure to update the guide when they forgot to set the correct flag. More commonly, they forget to uncheck the default screen setting, and my billing address gets changed as well, but that's simple to fix with the MyDish account. But as I said, 90% of the time they get it all right. For Scott: I have a note to myself on my pre-written script for the Roanoke DMA to remind me its western arc only. "Fool me once...
  16. The receiver doesn't know where you are, only what the updated data signal tells it. The update signal does not come from the new spot beams.
  17. I have occasionally used the chat system to change the locals to a new location before leaving the old location, but the receiver was on and receiving a signal. The guide would update, but not surprisingly if I was not within the new spot beam's footprint, attempting to tune to one of the new channels resulted in a no signal error. The reverse also occurs, if the receiver was on a previous local channel when turned on at a new location.
  18. For the Dish chat service, I have a file of pre-written scripts for most of the locations we've visited. I just pull one up that's in the DMA I want. Now it's quicker to just use the app of course, unless I want a different DMA than where I am.
  19. In an otherwise suitable coach, take a look up under the driver's seat. The swivel mounts in both our current and previous coach have multiple holes that permit locating the seat with different clearances, plus the usual slide adjustment. Also, in our coach, the slide has about a 3" lip on the inside trim and seal that would allow the seat to move further back for driving when the slide is in. You would have to make sure to move it forward again before extending the slide though.
  20. Last year I installed an AP Products Slim Shade Window in a fellow's TT door that had no window. Careful measuring and cutting made the installation pretty easy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MRRNQNP/
  21. The sock got boiled with every use, and thoroughly rinsed after use. It was basically just a cotton "bag". Noting unsanitary about that. What material was your coffee "bag" made from?
  22. In my tent camping days, my "coffeemaker" consisted of a pot for boiling water and a white sweat sock. The grounds went in the sock that was then dropped in the water. When the coffee reached the desired strength, the sock was removed, turned inside out, and rinsed for the next use. Of course it didn't stay white for very long...
  23. Lately, I'm starting to see more cashless credit/debit card only stores and restaurants. Not a lot yet to be sure, but it does seem to be a growing trend in some areas.
  24. If you're happy with only the network programming available on ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, that's fine for you. On the other hand, we enjoy programs on PBS, CW, myTV, ION, and others that aren't carried by DNS. A wider choice is nice given the dearth of good programming available these days.
