  1. I wonder if there's differences in the General Delivery service at direct US Postal Service facilities and Contract Postal Units operated by private businesses. I have no idea how much autonomy the CPU's have with features like that...
  2. As I recall from previous discussions, the Escapees Florida address at Sumter Oaks used for the mail service is accepted as a residential address because a number of people have year round leased (ERPU) sites and receive mail there at the same address.
  3. We have both AT&T and Verizon hotspots on "May be temporarily slower" plans, but we have yet to experience any slowdowns that were any worse than what we've usually encountered on busy towers at peak times even while still within the no slow down limits. Even streaming at peak times hasn't been noticeably affected.
  4. The plan was offered to Chrysler product/Uconnect owners: https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/att-20-month-unlimited-mobley-plan-back-for-a-limited-time-via-uconnect-chrysler-mopar-email-campaign/
  5. I noticed early on that the attaching pins on our ReadyBrute Elite towbar and BlueOx base plate always worked themselves in the same direction while underway. Because of that, I insert the pins so the locking end works itself away from the "knuckles". Even if the locks or keeper clips were left off, the pins should still stay in place. I have no intentions of testing that though...
  6. Actually, it is still available on a limited basis to certain vehicle owners. I do agree though, the plan is not available to the general public currently.
  7. I agree with the second part of Joel's post, but the first part is certainly not true for those of us with AT&T's Connected Car Plan.
  8. I disagree with the statement, "But as we all know the unlimited is not really unlimited!" We've gone well over 100GB with both our AT&T and Verizon unlimited data plans a number of times, with no throttling and just minimal brief slowdowns on congested towers that didn't interfere with streaming.
  9. We've been very happy with the performance of our Netgear Unite Explore 815s hotspot with our AT&T unlimited plan. Our Novatel 6620L Jetpack is also performing well for us on our Verizon unlimited plan, although I expect we'll run into missing newer band issues at some point that will necessitate an upgrade.
  10. My prepaid plan rolled over on my 6620L yesterday with no glitches. I got the expected "activated" and "paid" messages, but the data usage is still showing as "10240.00/10240". Maybe VZW is getting their act together?
  11. I have a ~20' spread between the Max Amp inside and outside antennas, and don't have any "red light" issues with one exception. There's a brief section of I-88 in NY's Southern Tier where the amp goes red consistently when we pass through. In less than a mile, I can power cycle the amp and all is well again. In discussing it with Gord early on, we suspect there's interference from nearby microwave towers causing the issue, since there are a number of them in view including one tower with six MW antennas on it. I have a dash switch that controls the power to the amp, so it's a simple matter to reset it on the fly when the problem occurs. We're currently at a FL state park about half way between Palatka and Salt Springs, and just yesterday a neighbor was complaining to me about the lack of cell service here. He has a Verizon phone, and drives out to the main road to get usable service. With our Max Amp turned on, we're getting 3-5 Mbps down on our Verizon Jetpack, and 15-20 Mbps down on our AT&T hotspot. We've been streaming regularly with the AT&T hotspot with minimal buffering, and our Verizon phones have also been working ok with no dropped calls.
  12. The magnetic roof antenna for our Maximum Signal Max Amp stays in place just fine when traveling. I ran the coax down through the fridge vent and then through cabinets to the transciever location. The Max Amp has routinely brought us usable LTE cell signals in locations where other folks are getting little or no signals.
  13. Over the years with various motorhomes we've had an engine replaced, a transmission replaced, and a complete rear axle assembly replaced, and slept in the coach every night. The only time we were out of one while it was in a shop was when we had some body and paint work done and didn't want to deal with the smell. That time we stayed in a KOA "Kabin" for two nights.
  14. I'm thinking about upgrading to an 8800, but the issues I'm seeing reported here and other forums are giving me pause to pull the trigger just yet. My 6620L has been online 24/7 since it was activated at a VZW store last Friday with no drop outs of any sort even while moving from Georgia to Florida.
  15. "After debuting on iPhones last May, Verizon’s Visible prepaid service has finally made its way to Android, bringing unlimited data, messaging, and calls for just $40 a month. If you’re interested in making the switch, here’s everything you need to know:" https://www.pcworld.com/article/3336441/mobile/verizon-visible-android-faq.html
  16. A couple of days ago, I discovered that my grey market $5/mo unlimited 3G flashed Jetpack had finally been shut down by Verizon. It was nice for the several years it lasted, but not a big surprise when it ended. So anyway, after doing a factory reset of my 6620L, I trundled on over to the Verizon retail store in St Marys, GA and had it activated on the unlimited $70/$65 prepaid plan. The whole process took no more than perhaps 15 minutes and will make a good alternative to our AT&T Connected Car Plan where the VZW signals are stronger. A speed test at the store using my connected smartphone came back with ~12Mbps down, which is ok and would support streaming, but I was pleasantly surprised when I returned to the state park and tested at ~40Mbps down. I love the speed, but I really did prefer the $5/mo payments...
  17. Enter your 5510L's IMEI at the link below to see if it's compatible. https://www.verizonwireless.com/od/prepaid/bring-your-own-device/#/checkDevice
  18. eBay lists a number of both models, new, used, and refurbished. If you buy one, you can set it up under the "BYOP" option or just take it to a Verizon store and tell them you want to activate it on the 28366 $70 Jetpack prepaid unlimited plan.
  19. There are many fancy valve caps that weigh as much or more than our TST sensors. I used to use extenders, but after one too many leaks I installed Duallyvalve one piece stems. The long inner dual stems are supported at the hand hole end, so there's no stress from the lightweight TPMS sensors. I don't know what kind of failures you've been reading about, but I've never had a sensor or sensor related failure in 10 years beyond a dead sensor battery. And with our current TST 507 system, replacing a sensor battery is a simple ~5 minute process that's done about once a year. Long valves and extenders make adding air easier, but a TPMS lets you know when you need to add air. If nothing else, I consider a TPMS a safety tool just like a fire extinguisher. If I never needed one, it would still be worth the cost for the piece of mind.
  20. Our TST sensors weigh less than half an ounce, and were never a problem with the stubby rubber valve stems on our previous toad. Our current coach and toad have metal stems.
  21. Our TST 507 and the previous TST 510 TPMS have alerted us to a toad tire losing pressure after picking up a screw while under way, an inside coach dual leaking after hitting a piece of road debris, a failing toad front wheel bearing, and sticking brake calipers, once on our toad and once on our coach. In the 10 years we've been using TPMS', they have more than paid for themselves.
  22. The RSRP and SNR are reported on the second page of the "About Jetpack" section of my 6620L display. I don't know where or if the newer Jetpacks might display it.
  23. When we're in the St Marys, GA area heading south, we use that as our service address for both GA and south to central Florida, getting the Jacksonville locals. When we do eventually change our service address to Florida, we start getting charged the Florida 9.07% satellite TV tax. Our billing address remains in NY where there is no satellite tax.
  24. We occasionally receive Dish mailings at our billing address, including free movies, etc, as a reward of some sort. It's just often enough to make it worthwhile keeping our billing address correct.
