  1. I see truck on the road at times. The other day I got to take a photo of it. So what year is it. Safe Travels,. Vern
  2. Low voltage can make amps go up and blow the fuse. Possibly be a problem for the relay also. I would think if you are sitting in one place that maybe the problem. Check voltage at post and at fridge back. Safe Travels,. Vern
  3. Is it shaking up and down or sideways. May be hard to tell. Switch tires to back and try. Several years ago I hit a deer with my jeep. It messed up a bunch of stuff. Even put other tires and wheels on it. Finally got it fairly good for driving, but it still shook at 59 mph. In the process I put the old tires and wheels back on. But did not put the tires on the same place as I did not mark them. Took jeep in to get tires balanced. Right front tire was out of round. It could not be balanced. So had it put on the rear axle. At 25 mph that tire shook the jeep. Next morning put another set of tires on and 69 mph it drove great. Did not even balance the new to jeep tires. Look at the tire near the rim. There may be a rib molded into the tire to see if it is on the rim evenly. Also look at tires closely to see if they look out of shape. When you have tire of the ground to change the tires see if they're is anything loose in the front end. Thoughts only,. Vern

    Bedroom tv puzzling

Possibly switched in the tv. Not cables. I think ,??? Vern
  5. I have a cdl so that would work. Now I am thinking differently about the jeep thing. thanks for the ideas guys,. Vern
  6. Now we're testing how much weight a smart could carry. That could cause a problem. You need to balance it nicely. Just could not resist,. Vern
  7. I have thought of downsizing to that model. Wife looked curious when I mentioned it. All natural Vern
  8. Just do not tell Big Fiver I have this jeep. Vern
  9. Is there a gvw for a yj? just curious,. Vern
  10. Yes I carry about 2000 lbs of tools and parts in a yj. It has been smart weighed twice just to see its total weight. The one seen on the back of our Volvo. It has a Chevy 350 in it. A sm465 granny gear transmission. Michelin Xps rib 235/85r/16 tires. Air shocks on front and rear axles. Plus a few other modifications I have done to it. I will soon have traveled 200,000 miles in this capacity. It has over 300,000 miles on it. How many Smart would equal this jeep. Safe Travels, Vern
  11. This is the other model of Rv makes one think about traveling slower? Vern
  12. I am curious as to how many smart cars it would take to carry 1 ton of tools and parts. As I use a jeep yj for service work, people keep saying I should use a smart car. I am curious as to how many it would take to do this. Safe Travels,. Vern
  13. I was driving on highway 93 in Montana the other day and past two different RV's of this style. They may be going to the same RV park. They were not together, but on the same road headed in the same way. Actually not on the road but off in the grass. Have a great day,. Vern
  14. I want to help with the understanding of a problem I have encountered with there product procedure. Twice in three weeks I was called for a repair on two different recreational vehicles. The first one I was asked about the travel time for being at the Rv. I was not aware of having to be there at a certain time. Customer sure thought I was to be there on time. Or did not understand it was important. This was not a problem on the road. I was 41 miles from the Rv. And do work as needed on my route for the day. When at the job customer stated about being an hour late. ? So looked at the problems. Not problem. Not one problem for travel. But Customer thought I should be there on time. I did not say I would be there at a certain time. Now there was a call to Coachnet and got approval for service call after at the job. Now I was not told about extended warranty before being at the job. I also did not understand that Coachnet was providing extended warranties. I use to do Coachnet roadside service but was so busy with work that emergency work was hard to do so have not done any for a number of years. So on the next job that I was called on it was three hours from the time the customer called till I was at his Rv. He was rather pissed it took so long. Now he did state it was a slide problem. So it did not come out along the road. He was sitting in a campground for several days. So once I arrived at his site and was discussing his problem he stated it was an extended warranty with Coachnet. .?? What is confusing to me is that the Coachnet extended warranty customer think that I should be at there job now, on time. I do not do emergency roadside assistance for Coachnet as I am so busy with normal work. Emergency work is very hard to do when I cover about 100 miles of territory. So what I am trying to say is if you have Coachnet extended warranty, please explain to the mobile Rv tech that you have the extended warranty and Coachnet roadside assistance. Before you go any farther on said subject. Extended warranty is one thing Roadside assistance is another. Roadside assistance does not mean you get preference for work for the day. To me the customers were thinking since they have roadside assistance that they get there work done now. Even if it has nothing' to do with travel. Both of these were instances of new RVers purchasing used units and extended warranties. So I will no longer do any Coachnet extended warranty work. Retirement is close,. Vern
  15. If you are going to make a hole in the bed, plan on making as much as possible under there accessible. And try to make it look like it belongs there. Last year I had to replace a fan motor on a Prevost air conditioning unit. It took 8 hours to cut through cabinets and other such stuff, install the blower motor, and get it back together so it looked like it was never touched. I discussed cutting through the side body and repair it. Now this was a Previst conversation? The owner owns a large body shop in Florida. But this was in Montana. He did think about it , but since he was in Montana for the summer we went through the cabinet. I do not want to do that job again. Vern
  16. Just curious if this may help.https://www.anythingtruck.com/product/060-102802N.html or help in the right direction. Vern
  17. You may be able to remove the cotter pin from the pin that attachés the power arm to the steps. With a drift pin you may be able to move that pin out so as to leave the steps out. That motor maybe available at a local auto parts store. Safe Travels,. Vern
  18. I had a bad cord reel last year. I would strongly suggest to eliminate the reel a sap. It may do more harm from disconnecting and connecting often. It just needs to the wiring connected directly. I am a mobile Rv tech hiding in Montana. Safe Travels,. Vern
  19. That could be the speed sensor on the rear of the transmission. It happened to me once. Just out of nowhere it just limited the Rpms to 1500. It drove fine up till that rpm then just did 1500 Rpms. That was probably 10 years ago. So I do not remember about any codes. I did drive from San Antonio tx to Midland tx that day. Once I figured out how to drive it, it was ok. BBBut it shut off about 3 miles from the destination. Turned key off for awhile. While we were sitting along the interstate I tried to start it and it fired up and ran the last few miles. Called Cummins on a Saturday night and they thought it was the speed sensor and the replacement fixed it. Simple remove old, clean opening for new and plug and drive. Hope you have an easy fix,. Vern
  20. I need to make a correction to my beginning post. The local RV dealer where this is at has an ad on tv that shows this unit as a toy hauler. Yep that is what it is. Sorry I cannot find the video, but I do need to correct myself. So it should fit on one site. Safe Travels,. Vern
  21. It would be interesting to see what happened to your hitch. If you can get a picture of the parts . Maybe keep the old hitch for discussion. Curious,. Vern
  22. If you have the exact model I might be able to post the service documents for your situation. I carry a spare low volume fuel pump for testing. It should be easy to install it with a separate gas supply for testing. Safe Travels,. Vern
  23. https://images.app.goo.gl/fsus4eSa6c27wSBk6 i needed to use a different computer to post this picture. So if one put grease on top of the moving parts in this position it would help lube them .Not perfect but better. Vern
  24. I was looking at your hitch photo. I wish I had a picture from a remote camera in that open hole on top of the hitch head. Mine does not have that hole but it may get one installed this week. I may take a remote picture of mine later today. Safe Travels,. Vern
  25. This what I do for greasing that unknown area. No it is not a perfect way to do the job. But any grease in that area is better than none. Some of that grease should find its way into moving parts. It can be aimed at the pivot points of the jaws, top and bottom. Also it can be pointed at the rotating pins also. Along time ago I had a good friend come buy for a month or so to visit. So we got there fifthwheel positioned in place. Went to unhook and it would not unlatch. Now this guy is very smart on mechanical things. Just never bought grease. I do not think he even had a grease gun. If he did I never seen it.. In another business I had for years I would look at used equipment for sale. So it was either new ( no grease at bearings ), or used and lots of grease at the bearings. But the worst thing was a used piece of equipment with rust at the moving parts. Jjjjust need to explain it better,. Vern
