  1. Ours did that same thing for a few months and then stopped working at all. I ordered the new motor and new material and had Shade Pro put in on for me. Big $$$ but now it's more or less a new awning.
  2. Since we are no longer fulltiming we plan to sell our TT Platinum Plus membership. Lifetime membership. 21 days park to park, no time out. 120 advance reservation. Dues are $50 a month. We bought this used in 2006 but no longer will be using it the way it should be used. We paid $2900 plus $750 transfer fee back then. Total was $3650 and in the first year we had it we were in the system 210 days. I figured we paid for the membership the first year at $17 a night and have used it every year since then until this year. How much should I expect to get when we put it up for sale ?
  3. We FT'ed from 2006 to 2009 and thought we wanted another house, so we bought and were snowbirds until 2013 went we sold that home and hit the road again until the fall of 2019 ( 9 months ago). I have 30% lung function due to COPD and getting worse as time goes on. It was getting more difficult to do the tasks of daily life in an RV. Up until last winter we would spend our winters near Palm Springs and have plans to spend 3 months there starting in December. We do miss the freedom of fulltiming but at least now my wife has a home when she needs it.
  4. As stated above, it all depends on the length of the trailer you want. Also the weight of your trailer going down the road will be at least 10,000#, this may cause your tranny to heat up but if you stay in the flatland you may be OK.
  5. I only buy tires made in USA. I have Continental on my truck, Cooper on my Jeep, and Goodyear H tires on my 5er. First thing I ask when looking to buy tires is "What do you have that's Made in the USA ?"
  6. You definitely want a walk around bed. Period, no exceptions. On a corner bed the person on the outside will have the other crawl over you in the middle of the night to go pee....no fun...been there....done that...never again.
  7. We had our heart set on Jojoba Hills until they said they have a two dog limit. We ended up buying a house in a gated 55+ community that has a clubhouse, pool, activities, billiard room and a $25 month secure RV storage. They also had a two dog limit but was willing to make an exception.
  8. This is exactly why I switched from Direct to Dish. It just got to be too much of a hassle every time I called Direct. I think the last two or three times it took over an hour on the phone. I really don't think they know what they are doing. After the fact I find that Dish is far superior to navigate and record among many other features.
  9. You did not say how long the Keystone is. That will be a big factor when its windy or when a 18 wheeler passes you. I towed with mine and it was not pleasant when windy, etc. and mine was a 25 footer. I wish I would have put more air in the tires and tried that. I had the recommended pressure according to the tag on the door jam. I understand that if you put near the max air according to what's listed on the sidewall it will help. I think maybe my wiggle was from the sidewall on the tires and more air pressure maybe would have helped. I'll never know but it's FYI.
  10. New Mexico closed all the State Parks and The Corp of Engineers closed their two campgrounds in March. This week our governor limited the private campgrounds to 25% of their capacity.
  11. New Mexico can get to 105 during the summer but usually its in the 90's. Lower elevations are hotter than higher elevations. For the past several years we spent our winters in Palm Springs area which gets up to 120 degrees in the summer so we always spent our summers in New Mexico. Back in 1995 we went to NM for a 2 week vacation and before Christmas moved there. During the vacation we fell in love with the Land of Enchantment. We started full timing in 2005 and just left the road and bought a home just half hour south of Albuquerque. Most of the summer days will be 95 but with the low humidity its nice. A story that I always tell is that I was working in the back yard and worked up a sweat and went and sat under a shade tree and I started shivering, the sweat was evaporating so fast because of the 6% humidity that I was actually cold and it was 95 outside. There are many RV parks in the state that will charge $600 or less. You may or may not get a swimming pool but if you do it's heaven when you can go get cooled off, if and when the temps reach 105 for a few days or up to a week. We consider 95 degrees here a nice day. One thing that is definite is that we are missing the Palm Springs weather this winter. We wanted to stay in our 55+ Gated community this winter and see how it is. It's gets cold and some nights it gets down the teens but when the sun comes up it gets nice out. Right now in January most days are in the low to mid 50's. Next Dec-Jan- Feb we plan to get the RV out of our storage yard here in the community and enjoy Southern California. Long post and keep checking the New Mexico RV parks and you'll find one that fits your budget. Maybe you'll fall in love with the Land of Enchantment like we did.
  12. I got tired of all the BS from Direct and cancelled and went with Dish. It's all a new learning curve but at least wont have to be on the phone with them for an hour or two every time I call them.
  13. Will you be stationary or driving during the described cold ?
  14. Yes indeed, 450's and my 550 are insured as commercial. You might try Miller Insurance and National General.
  15. I think I would call a different Freightliner dealer.
  16. I had a real short 1976 Dodge Gypsy Class C. I wonder if it was the same company.?
  17. I think if it were me, I would put the garden hose on a light mist and run the wipers for an hour or so. Better than pulling over in a rain storm.
  18. I have the Simply Go and like it. It's light enough that it's not a PITA to carry around. Been using it when I walk our dogs.
  19. My wife uses colored pencils and draws flowers. Sometimes when I go to bed she stays up and colors away.
  20. What I experienced from my older Tahoe was "wiggle". I would suggest putting near the max pressure that the tires allow. After travel let the air out back to the vehicle recommendations or you will get a stiff ride on your daily drives. Also if your Tahoe does't have a Tranny Temp Gauge I would get one, so you know right where the temp is. It may surprise you.
  21. We travel with 4 dogs and it's a problem some of the time. 3 are small and 1 large old one, 15 years old now. We are Thousand Trails members and the parks are pet friendly and that helps a lot. We always ask about pets at other parks just to be sure. Most will say "no way". I sure don't want to pay for a month and then be told "sorry, you have to leave and we don't give refunds".
  22. Word of caution, when replacing your sofa you will have a hard time finding a sofa that will fit in the back due to the slide outs coming in. We searched Albuquerque and only found one. We have a 36TK3.
  23. It is indeed a flat screen TV. If you google Sony Wega it says it's a flat screen TV.

BUT it is a analog TV and you will need a "black box" if you are using a antenna. Works great with sat TV and cable. It is not a thin TV that can be wall mounted.
