  1. Thats what I ment, on the farm we used old car tires on two wheel hay wagons. Gramps would pump them up untill his nerves failed and then us kids would load it, the old 8 N didn't have a Sherman gear so it probably didn't go 15 mph. I remember a few flats but never a blowout.
  2. I worked on it today, topped off the coolant and really cleaned the battery cables and studs and bus bars. Runs normal now, I will have to run it more to see if it lasts. ABS still out and cruise doesn't work, they may be related. Goes to the Volvo dealer Tuesday for premium shifter and hopefully drop the extra axle sensors and change other parameters. The shop manager didn't sound to confident about anything but the shifter.
  3. Keep in mind the max load for an axle is taking in account hitting potholes and bumps at speed also tires heating up over time on the road. During a hard turn one tire probably goes way over the load limit set for a stationary vehicle.
  4. My 2012 Volvo 630 NML D11, with Ishift, wont rev over 1500 rpm most of the time, the speedometer works but the cruise doesn't, it shifts up to far and then doesn't down shift when it needs too, if it would rev then I don't think that would be a problem. Then it will go back to normal running with lots of power and shifting fine. This does not last long. The only codes so far are down stream nox and egr pressure differential. The abs and traction control starts out with the lights off but turn back on within a couple of miles, the bad running is always from the start. It was asking for regeneration every 50 miles I haven't driven it that far since replacement of the nox sensor. I did a regen a few days ago and the soot leval was low afterwards. It goes to the dealer on Tuesday. Thanks Lance Replaced the egr pressure diferental sensor and I found a micro switch on the brake pedal, I believe it is to cancel the cruse, the leaver is supposed to be on top of the arm it was under, I think when I ran the wires for the Direct link it got moved. What a difference everything now works, abs, traction, cruise, shifts like it should and now has power and rpm like it should. Its been fine every time I have tsken it out so far, keeping my finger crossed.
  5. I was told not to go several months befor and I think he said last week to wate 6 more months. Then for the rest of my life I have to get a antibiotic to take the day of the appointment, even a cleaning. I understand some Drs dont put the rest of your life stuff in.
  6. Mr Cob, 3 plus months and pain has now become rare discomfort. I spent the last three days on the tractor haying, again tomorrow, probably on and off 20 times a day, less discomfort now than when I started. I can walk comfortably as far as I want now and if it hurts a little at the beginning it gets better as you go. I can even get down on my knee now, peace of cardboard if on cement helps. I have trimmed several horses feet and removed and replaced both super singles on my truck took the drums off too no problems. O and I graduated PT another 3 months of it at home though. I hope they told you not to go to the dentist.
  7. Mr Cob all I can say is stretch as much as you can now it will help you after surgery. Good luck.
  8. In Vermont if I go my I cant pull anything so I have to be private truck. At first they told be no 5th wheels or gooseneck on a converted hdt to moter homemthen theyndecided no bumper pull either, which goes against the mh rules of 65 feet total length. As a private truck I am aloud 75 feet so that's an advantage but the cost is much higher $75 for my and about $800 for private truck. As I pull a living quarters horse trailer I was able to register agriculture until I move.
  9. Depending roof material and hole size you can get several size roofing screws with a rubber washer. If the roof is aluminum you could replace the screw with stainless keeping the steel washer and rubber. You can also just by rubber washers or o rings and ss washers and sheet metal svrews. If you do remember the ss screw brake off very easy and need a pilot hole much bigger than expected. That and your choice of sealant should take care of the problem.
  10. I have seen the aaa list before there are other sites that seem to list similar dimensions. You never seem to hear about people being ticketed and I am sure they sell 30 foot trailers in AZ.
  11. Well it realy wasn't that hard to do, I was doing some work out in the field beyond the truck and it shut of after 5 minutes just like its supposed to. when I walked back by 30 minutes later, like I do several times a day, it was off and I didn't think about it at all. I have been told Volvos have a low voltage protection, it must be so as it took very little time to charge and didn't seem to harm the batterys. When I take it to be reprogrammed I will have them change the idle time. I like to start it several times over the winter and I realy want it to run more than 5 minutes.
  12. I made similar mistake I started my truck and left it idling behind the barn, two days later I remembered it. It had shut off after 5 minutes, thats almost as stuped as I am. Of course the batterys were dead and I figured I had just cost my self 4 new ones. It didn't take long on the charger before it was ready to go and I have had no problems with then for 2 years. I have not done that again.
  13. The one on my parents MH turned out to be the relay not the motor. Good luck.
  14. Shelburne Museum is nice , I was the blacksmith there one summer a lifetime ago, Shelburne farms, The Sprit of Eathan Alan cruise ship, Ben and Jerry's, Mount Mansfield, the Champlain Islands, Trapp Family Lodge(sound of music fame).

    DC issues

Rv's usaly have batterys and a converter that plugs into 110 volts both will supply 12 volts DC as you probably know. If the cables are cut of the generator were they the 110 ac or the 12 volt dc wire? Get a multi tester and check them out. Do you have a way to plug into shore power?
  16. If sound is a issue put rubber hose on both sides of the pump, make it long and coil it.
  17. Might I suggest picking up at one location and droping off in another, so that you dont back track. You could do Rushmore to the Grand Canyon in two weeks if you only travel one way. The bus company I work for does it in one week.
  18. Posting pictures on this site is easy, just look at the 4th or fith post from the top of the HDT site. By the way asking would have gotten you the same information.
  19. I have no rental advice but I suggest you reconsider the bikes, we took them many times and every one wanted to ride they never did. I understand Yosemite is beautiful but very hard to get into. May I suggest picking several places that you wont to see that are close together. If you have never been to the US it is hugs and you don't wont to spend all your time driving.
  20. What do you like? Clarks Trading Post, Lost River Gorge, the Flume, if its a wet year lol, Mt Washington(no duals alowed) they do have a van, in NH. Acadia park in Maine we have been to Maine several times but usaly go to Bar Harbor. The isle of Shouls was also nice. Kitery Trading Post, LL Bean I am from Vermont. Shelburn Museum, Vermont Country Store, Stowe. Let me know what you are looking for. Boondocking is hard in the East you might find some in the Champion Lands.
  21. I fanly remembered to talk to my dad about his Hensley and why he stopped using it. It is a 10k hitch, that may be just the arms not sure but he said it is also a pain to hitch up.
  22. Mine does this all the time, my traction control/abs is messed up and I am working on that now. Mine hates to down shift and skip shifts way too many gears. And my cruise control quit. Mines a Volvo D11. Any diagnostic ideas for the potentiometer on it?
  23. Do all the transactions at his bank only! My son was ripped off last year by cashing a check at his bank that was actually stolen.
  24. The vertical piece with the three bolts in it may have made the spring act too short so that if you unload the front axle, like on a dip, it all moved to the rear. Perhaps removing that piece and putting the triangular piece in the original u bracket hole it will work correctly.
