  1. I have known a couple of guys who did both and if your Dr is good with it you should be fine. I am glad that was not my case. I should have done more presurgary stretching but the knee was bent at least 10 degrees so it probably wouldn't have helped. Good luck, Lance
  2. Dave, I am only 55 and not in two bad of shape, maybe if the muscles on the back of the knee had been in better shape I would think differently, but I would only have done 2 if I was in Henrys boat. Rehab is rough and I would have been in trouble without a good knee. My other knee is fine but the one I had replaced would have supported me fine if the other had needed replacement. In my case in order to sit down I had to put the new leg out in front and lower myself on the old leg as I continued to slide the new leg forward. I suppose if I had to I would have figured out a way. I am what I consider 2 weeks behind in recovery but I could probably due a second knee soon, thank God I dont have too.
  3. I have a 40 gallon waste tank mounted beside my drive shaft under the frame, and to 30 gallon fresh tanks behind the axle be side the frame going up into the bed. I use a mascarter pump to fill the waste tank and gravity to empty.
  4. I had to quote my self to bring this back up.
  5. Serplus Center, it might be supply, has hose in lengths of up to tirty feet and lots of adapters. They should be at least 3000 psi depending on size.of course you would have to plan ahead. https://www.surpluscenter.com/Hydraulics/Hydraulic-Hose-and-Hose-Assemblies/Hydraulic-Hose-Assemblies/?page_no=4.
  6. My surgeon put something in the knee, they used ultrasound to guide the needle. There was something in the iv and I had a spinal. I think I remember them telling me to sit up for the spinal, if I do then that's the last I remember until my wife woke me up. I was breathing on my own for the operation. After they started the iv I didn't care what they did to me. Two hour latter I started this post, maybe I should go back and read it to see how out of it I was.
  7. Mr Cob I am 2 1/2 weeks post replacement and have been completely off oxy for 3 or 4 days I was off it for days then had a set back with pt and had to take one. I would not wont to drive a truck yet but could drive a car no problem. I have had trouble with the back of the knee down into the calf as my leg was so bent. I was finally put on muscle relaxers for post pt and that has helped a lot. The actual operation was a pice of cake. I should have done more stretches before surgery and I wish I hadn't broken my thumb 4 days prior. When they offer you a portable urinal to take home take it you will want it. I am still sleeping in the recliner but spend days on the bed, when I am not exercising. That will be your job by the way exercising that is. So far I would do it again except for pt there is almost no pain. Actually the pain was never very bad mostly dull aches. Good luck Lance
  8. My dad has had both knees and a hip done now the oxycodone made him see wall colors that were not there and set of his his anxiety. As I recall he couldn't sleep. And of course there's the wonderful constipation. So far so good for me but I am already taking the minimum dose they recommended. I promise not to bore all of you with my progress!
  9. Thay must have me on a low dose because I haven't noticed any thing from the oxycodone, at least stuff people would take it for "fun" are looking for. Phoenix I have got to hand it to you doing both at once, or maybe your wife, mine is running her self raggid with me the kids the wood boiler, the 93 year old mother and the two other lady's we take care of. It sound like you were much worse off than I was. Your results give me encouragement.
  10. I was told 15 years ago that it would be 5 years 10 on the outside before I would need a replacement but I was so young they wanted to go as long as possible. The last year has been the hardest by far , the pain and limping would come and go. Today makes you question why I had it done. My father has had both done in the last couple of years, by the same Dr. I am sure it take a while to do any heavy work on the truck they tell me pt,pt,pt is the secret. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
  11. Just had my right knee replaced about 2 hours ago. Now I can work on the Volvo again! Well in a month or so. We will probably have snow atleast that long anyway. I have to figure out why the abs dose not work, the left front brake grabs and I need to install the premium shifter and lots of other stuff, the longer I lay here the longer the list will get. I also want to make a binder to show law enforcement. Maybe I will even have time to post build pictures from last July. Well it's been 6 weeks and 6 days so thought I would update for any thinking of having this done. The knee has no pain and works just fine. I have had difficulty with the soft tissue behind the knee and down into the calf. This has put me 2 weeks or so behind where my father was with his replacements. After 34 years of being bent the tissue just domt wont to move but they are going if a little slow. This past week I went back to work driving school bus, got the Volvo out of storage, cut up some trees, rode a horse and trimmed a horses feet. I haven't used a cane or crutch for two weeks and have put that stuff in storage. My limp gets better every day and if I dont over do, like yesterday, I get out of bed with no limp. I can now see that I will be fine and am going to be very glad I had the operation. O ya I can now sleep through the night in bed. I did almost none of the things I wanted to do, pt takes up a lot of time and reading was of little interest, I watched a lot of tv.
  12. I had two champions hitched together they are 2 something k and sometimes they would run the ac and sometimes not. It seemed to depend on how the compressor stopped or the altitude or something. I talked to a man with a Honda 3000 and he found the same thing. My Yamaha 6500 has never had a problem and I can run ac and microwave and it still is only just off idle. When at home I move it to the garage for power outages and I can run the TV, frige and furnace as well as some lights all on the fuel saver mode. It goes out side to run. I had the Champions about 4 years before I started to have starting problems my parents had there Honda 2000 about 15 before they had any trouble.
  13. Diesel cheep inline filters are not paper so ask for diesel ones, they have a screen.
  14. Install your own belts bolted to the frame. You might have to change the seat, perhaps a bucket seat out of a van.
  15. Your truck insurance usually only covers liability for the trailer. It does not cover comprehensive nor collision in most cases. If they wont your trailer they will get it. You. Could put a chain through the trailer rim and then around the hitch, but a good cutter will get through.
  16. You can get a length of chain long enough to go around the hitch frame on your truck and padlock it to the brake away chain on the trailer. There is also a place to put a lock on every hitch. Don't forget one for the receiver if you have one.
  17. Turn the water of and disconnect the pipe, start the ice making cycle and then pressurize the waterline with air. That should push most of the water out.
  18. Is there room for a compositing toilet, i understand some who boon dock use them.
  19. You could drain the fresh water out of any camper then put seven or eight gallons back in and see how many times you can flush. But it will depends on how much water you use per flush, you can flush with the water off several times between wet flushings just use windex as a rinse. People with a composting toylet get a week or two out of a small container google them. When we have used a port o potty you can get several days out of a small one. Good luck
  20. Hi I pull a 4 horse 15' short wall living quarters Lakota with a 630 Volvo. I moved up from a 03 Duramx dully. Check my past posts and you can read some of what I have done. I just took my first trip and have a few bugs to work out. I will add more as I work on it. There realy is no comparison between the two trucks.
