  1. In my case it was a combination of lack of skill/practice driving an HDT with an automatic at slow speed, combined with a set of worn out cab shocks. The Donvels keep the air rushing in an out of the bags unrestricted. If I understand the theory this starts the air rocking/traveling from one bag to the other, causing a need for sea sick bags in the seat pockets🤢
  2. My cab rocked like a drunken Karen at 3:00am after she piled in to 3 parked cars and a bus stop pavilion. The Donvel's stopped the excessive rocking side to side for sure. We rarely put much air in the seats, so I look forward to hearing if you see a great improvement in the seats with the Donvel's.
  3. I put a set on the sleeper, stopped the cab from rocking back and forth when maneuvering the camper into a site.
  4. I do have access to the top of the drive axles from above, but have used it once n the four years I have owned the truck. I will however say, that the natural light the access from the top provides whilst working under the truck, provides for much easier maintenance and repair.
  5. For some reason the (IMG) has to be removed from each end.
  6. I did not know such a thing existed, but looks to be a good option. We occasionally CrackerBarrelDock, and I have started the little generator to run the small electric heater to take the chill off the DW. This looks like an easy solution. With less noise. Thank you for sharing Mr. Dennis
  7. Just type in 12v diesel heater in Amazon search bar. I found a ton of options.

    ECM changes

Once the fleet limiter is off, passing with our light loads can be done safely, even going up Monarch Pass💪👍
  9. I was impressed with their service, good outfit in my book.

    ECM changes

Randy was referring to the MAX-speed limiter. The speed limiter set by many carriers can be removed. I know the Volvo will just keep pulling, I have not found the Max-speed yet, doubt I ever will. My good sense to slow down sensor goes off before the truck runs out of the power to go faster.

  12. SUCCESS, the struts I ordered part#PM3807M13-W from Lift Supports Depot, work well. I chose the light pressure of 56lbs as I knew it did not take much force to open the hood, and I did not want to overcame the strength of the struts to shut the hood. A light touch starts the hood to open, and a nudge will get it to close. The hood opens smooth and steady. the Ball Stud ends on the new struts have a more secure clip that is removable. Removing the clip and setting aside is part of the very well written install instructions. Install is straight forward, I did use a large pair of channel lock style pliers to seat The sockets on the original Volvo balls. The clips can then be slid in place and securely fastened at the neck of the ball socket. The price of each was $16.00 plus tax. The sight offers free express shipping over $29.00. For my order that turned out to be FedEx 2nd day. I had the struts at my house 48 hours after placing the order, excellent service in my book. Total was just over $34 after taxes.

    Onboard air

I believe in this instance the larger air hose would act like an extra air tank, would it not?
  14. Ordered a pair of replacement gas struts for the Volvo hood this morning. I ordered a relatively light force set,(56lbs) as I don't want to climb on the cowl to shut the hood. The force needed to open and close the hood is relatively light, because both of my original struts have failed completely. I found a site that offers a search using dimensions of the strut, and free express shipping over $29. I will share the part number if the struts work to my satisfaction. https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/?cmp_id=1630518389&adg_id=61725191963&kwd=lift supports depot&device=c&gclid=Cj0KCQiApY6BBhCsARIsAOI_GjYf169pAlApvns141Eg0In-BxLVWTT8mCJ2PKmSBmfm9iAVp9mpfb0aAo2VEALw_wcB
  15. Hope it kicks down when the batteries get full.
  16. Could the wrench short out caused the ECM to require full amps whenever the truck is running? Shortening the life because it is essentially running wide open? Just a wild a$$ guess, based on no knowledge of the circuit.

    2030

One thing you are all missing, Fossil Fuel is a myth, this planet produces, and will continue to produce oil, as long as the sun continues to shine. Perhaps you have noticed that in any grocery store you can purchase vegetable oil by the gallons. Imagine how much plant life that we are not processing into usable vegetable oil this planet produces in a day.
  18. I have used BOTH of my quick disconnects to air up tires, the one plumbed into the tank and the one where the trailer line was. They work great, I am always willing to mess with stuff on my truck AFTER I do what you did and ask the folks on here who have been there done that before me.
  19. I have adapted the Trailer air line too an air tool line. I took the two fittings to a Hydraulic hose shop, and asked for the adaptor to mate them together. Took him all of two minutes to get it, less than $10 dollars with a quality QD included.
  20. I plumbed a PTC fitting into my tank fitting and ran some 1/2 inch airline, I think. I added another PTC fitting, and a QD in a more desirable easier to reach location. I also added a QD at the trailer air brake fitting, and a 25 foot hose reel. After all of this, I only use the air lines for airing up tires and blowing stuff off. I use Milwaukee Fuel 18v and 12v for any power tools.
