  1. It is proven fact that the climate is growing very warm, very fast. It is proven that human actions are causing most of this. But don't confuse weather with climate.
  2. There are lots of them on the old tank farms. They had collapsible tops that expanded as they filled with gas. Mostly for natural gas, but I bet many were for refinery gases.
  3. I can't see any advantage to not having a toll responder. I have EzPass and SunPass. Covers me on the east coast. I'm hoping there will be a national system when I make the turn west.
  4. That document from a CPA seems to contradict docj . "......minimum identification information that an FI must collect...." key word is minimum. FI can require whatever their written procedures put in place.
  5. The real problem will come with the next new year. All the quick repairs to the computer code to survive the 2000 turnover will be confused by 2020. No one realized the two numbers were to be the same and, at this time, there is no provision for the error. The markets will crash and burn. Those with cash will grab up the refuse and prosper when the solutions are in place. Predicted to be no sooner than February 23, 2020.
  6. What? A verizon CSR did not know their job? I have experienced that as the norm.
  7. I down loaded and read the USPS publication 28, which addresses the standards for labeling US mail. It is to make it easier for the USPS to delver mail in this automated world. It doesn't say the mail will not be delivered. It does recommend using "PMB 123" or "# 123" Any other requirements are belonging to your bank or other finance company. I would think your mail-box service can advise you. My plan is to just have the number on an address line with no prefix.
  8. That is a joke reference to this thread closing itself, by Barbaraok, above.
  9. Sounds like a lottery. How long will reply to this thread continue into history? My guess is until Schwab goes bankrupt.
  10. The last time I paid a campground. 1973, KOA, no hookups, it was $20. That was the equivalent of 40 gallons of gasoline.
  11. 5 gallon bucket, plastic bag, handful of litter, and a lid. Can get fancy with better lid/seat arraignment.
  12. If algae is growing in the water, there is no chlorine residual. At distant parts of municipal systems, chlorine residual can be lost. That is why you see the crews flushing mains. Maybe the camp ground is not so diligent.
  13. In community water treatment. First choice is Chlorine Gas. Second choice is Calcium HypoChlorite. In emergency we used Sodium Hypochlorite. When I retired these were the only chemicals approved for use in potable water. Why use a very hazardous chemical when a gallon of Clorox is so inexpensive and readily available?
  14. I have a Westinghouse WH2000iLT. I do like it a lot and have had no problems for the two years I have owned it. But it did cost over $650. I don't think anyone is making Westinghouse now.
  15. Why did he change the plates? There are some photos of initials and names such as Andersen etched onto other landmarks. Maybe they were confronted before and he was prepared this time.
  16. There is a lot of information about foam here http://www.thefoamfactory.com/ if you scroll around looking.
  17. I like my Samlex Power, and can highly recomend. I have PST-2000-12.
  18. i have a "marcus samuelsson signature cookware" 10 inch skillet. good hard non-stick lining, aluminum with a magnetic base. i use it lots and lots. <$20 at an overstock place. I have two stainless pots, one unknown brand for boiling pasta, and one that has a steamer insert, like a double boiler, by Kitchenaid. That is a good one. The others are ok. All were found at Olly's. Try to match the pan size to the element size. Cast iron works, but not as well. Enameled steel works. I have a magnet on my key chain to check any bargains i find. I wish the induction could work on my house battery. So easy to cook with it.
  19. I have a Mr Coffee 4 cup. The newer ones I see now are 5 cup.? But, I run it on my inverter and transfer the coffee into a pint size Thermos. The Mr C, and the inverter are only on the few minutes for dripping. If I feel active, I boil some water on the butane, to really heat the Thermos. Also my diner cup. I tried those one cup thingies. Tooooo much time and work. I do need more than one mug full, and they only make less than a cup of proper strength.
  20. In 1973 i was traveling in a 12 year old van. my first time out. somewhere in Kansas, i was smelling gamey. i saw a koa sign and pulled in. the owners were very friendly. asked if i wanted electric. i only wanted a place to rest and sleep, and have a shower and shave. i was directed near the wood line in a grassy field less than 100 yards from the showers, pool and office area. i enjoyed being away from the children. just before dusk, the owner and his well behaved setter walked around the camp, stopping to say hello and seeing how i was doing. a very pleasant stop for a grimy hippy run away. i hope to have such a enjoyable stop someday.
  21. DaMechanic, on 18 Sept 2015 - 12:09 AM, said: I have had just the setup in a Ford something. Was easy to use. The problem was the floor drain was direct to the black tank. Nothing a basin plug didn't fix. Also I recommend looking at 12 volt compressor refrigeration, such as Dometic or others.
