  1. This conversation piqued my interest so I checked my phone. Below are the apps that impact the battery the most and anything not listed uses 0.1% or less. Of the listed apps Chrome, AccuWeather and Google Play Services (not to be confused with Pay Store) used location and Chrome only used location when actively using the app. Google Play Services provides location for things like 911 and Emergency notifications as well as providing support to any other app requiring location services. Overall then I would say that location services have a very low impact on my battery. I too keep WiFi and Bluetooth enabled for convenience. Bluetooth connects to both cars when I am out and WiFi lets me use my phone even when deep inside a store when normally you would lose cell signal. Now, when I am waiting in the car for my wife or waiting in a doctors office lobby I will use the Kindle app which does use a lot of battery as it is keeping the screen on constantly. Gmail 1.5% Chrome 1.0% One UI Home 0.7% Always on Display 0.7% AccuWeather 0.5% Google Play Services 0.3% Tulecreeper, you strike me as someone that would get along fine on an old non-smart flip phone. 😀
  2. That is not entirely true. The SEC forced him out of his position as Chairman of the Board because of Tweets he made on potential actions. He does remain CEO and while the Board generally backs him, he does answer to a Board that answers ultimately to the stockholders.
  3. And I did not say it exceeded Tesla sales. I just said it was not surprising it carried the sales numbers it did due to price. Not every comment made about EVs is anti-Tesla. Although, my son-in-law says that if he were to spend the money it would cost him for a Tesla S or X he would buy a BMW iX for the better fit and finish. I don't have the money to consider either so I just nod my head knowing that his research and reasoning are sound.
  4. I was talking about FB too as FB uses an algorithm that highly compresses photos posted there and the method I posted most generally works. I do admit that it will not work every time and therefore. yes, you will need an external link and your method.
  5. China likely owns a piece of every auto company, American or otherwise, by stock ownership or simple control of the raw materials and/or components that go into them.
  6. The easiest way I have found to use a picture from Facebook to this forum is to first right click the pic, then choose Save image as ... which will save it to your computer at the location and with the name you choose. To get it here, enter the text you want in a post and then use the choose files... you see below. This way the pic ends up in your post with no external links needed.
  7. I can see how the Bolt EV would carry the sales numbers as it is considerable less money than either Tesla or Ford EVs. This is the one my son-in-law has and the Bolt is surprisingly (to me) quite comfortable and definitely peppy making it a nice little car in a no-frilly kind of way.
  8. I did not find that it raised the toilet at all. Our toilet was a Dometic 320.
  9. Danco, which you can get at Lowes, has a rubber/wax combo ring which is specifically designed to keep a seal even with some floor or toilet movement. I used one in our last RV and it worked really well.
  10. If there was a card to go with it, I would agree.
  11. What article? There is no link.
  12. I have a question, who in the heck comes up with all these "days" for everything under the sun?
  13. A thought occurs to me, we have used this service in the past and it is relatively inexpensive, have you thought of the Ask a Lawyer service? It is online at https://www.askalawyeroncall.com/. Might be worth checking.
  14. It is real. I went to the US Patent office and found it there. It is a 13 page PDF file if you want to download it.
  15. Why does that matter? That seems to be injecting politics where none is needed IMO.
  16. GM files for patent is the link for the info at the GM site. I actually am very intrigued with this idea. There are 2 wheel devices that let you tow a fifth wheel as a conventional trailer but they do not offer any power assist capabilities and the ability to park a fiver by controlling a device while standing there may be the very best part of it IMO.
  17. What we have found that works well for us, aside from lots of water, is a combo. We use 1/4 cup Dawn (the cheapest), 1/4 cup Borax and 1 pod of a product called Green Gobbler. The pods are the most expensive at about $1.30 per pod and adding the cost of the rest I am going to guess about $1.60 per flush or about every 10 days.
  18. OK, but they don't have to know that. In Texas if you happen to be 70 or over you can get a permanent exemption from jury duty.
  19. This has happened a couple of times to us and friends. In all instances it was as simple as contacting the Court Clerk and explaining that we were traveling and would not be available. The response was to just let them know when were back in the area and could serve on a jury.
  20. Good point. I figured it might be improper wire routing that was causing a short and then a fuse was not blowing to protect the circuit. As far as killing batteries, I know that when a door doesn't get properly closed the dome light will kill the battery in a day or so. Now I wait until the light goes out before walking away.
  21. Thanks for that info. I had wondered if it was a case of improper fusing for the wire size involved.
  22. I had never heard of it before either. I found an article in the Austin-American Stateman paper about it though from last year. The article goes on to say: It would appear that perhaps it was the bag that triggered the incident in Ken's case. I rarely get cash for anything and when I do I rarely need very much so I generally get cash back at HEB or Walmart.
  23. That's interesting. While I generally use Chrome, I just tried logging into the Navy MyPay (I never realized there was any difference) using Brave and Edge and got no such warning.
  24. As counterpoint to this we have had T-Mobile since around 1995 or so when it was called VoiceStream. In all that time we have never had a problem that that was not resolved in a timely and professional manner, in fact, in couple of instances equipment was replaced even though it was past warranty expiry. We are on the 55+ plan and that gives us unlimited talk/text/data and mobile hotspotting. We have used it seamlessly in Scotland, Ireland, and Mexico. By all means read the fine print as that is a good policy any time you are entering an agreement, although T-Mobile has no real red tape other than that you need pay for a phone that you have on the payment scheme in full if you cancel service. As to that data breach, this is from T-Mobile:
  25. Found an interesting quote on just that topic. Everyone wants to protect their turf (and job).
