  1. I had Dish for 5 years and never had a problem changing locals. Last year I purchased a used Class A in Phoenix. and it had a Travler sat dish on the roof but it was for DirecTv and would not work with Dish unless I purchased a $300 conversion kit and paid another $200 for the install. I switched to DirecTv. After a few months I went to the east coast (NC) for the summer and had no problem changing my locals. When I got back to AZ for the winter I again had no problem. I am anxious to see what is in store for me this summer when I go north to Idaho. I would love to change back to Dish but my Dish is only set up for DirecTv.
  2. I have roadside assistance with my insurance and with my extended warranty but both denied to pay for a winch out when my rear passenger wheel slipped into a ditch on the side of the road ($300). They said roadside service is for mechanical breakdowns only. Does the Escapees plan cover winch outs. Does the FMCA plan, Good Sam or Coach Net cover winch out.
  3. I remember when my grandmother had a party line for a telephone and if you picked up the phone someone else may have been talking and you had to wait for them to hang up so you could make a call.
  4. What will you do with th RV at the end of the year. Have you considered renting one. If you rent you can buy insurance thru the rental company.
  5. I use the Escapees mail forwarding address in TX for all my mail except my drivers liscense, registration and insurance which have the Escapees SD address for my SD domicile. I have had no problems using the TX address for my financial institutions. As far as taxes. You will only pay income tax on the amount of income earned in that particular state no matter what state you domicile in. If you domicile in SD and earn income in another state you will own tax in that other state. If you earn income in WI then WI will tax you no matter what your address is.
  6. I have roadside assistance with my vehicle insurance and with my extended warranty. I just joined FMCA while at Quartzsite last weekend. I believe that their roadside assistance is with the same company Escapees is now offering. Haven’t compared them since I am already covered but I did notice that the Escapees coverage costs $99 and FMCA is only $69. It may be good to review each to see if the Escapees plan covers more than the FMCA plan. Glad to see that Escapees is giving us more benefits for our membership.
  7. Guess he won't be at Quartzsite this year. Sorry to hear that he is six.
  8. Wanted. A woman that can cook, clean, sew, do laundry, fish, dig for worms and has a boat and motor. Please send photo . . . of boat and motor.
  9. The Patriot Act expired several years ago. Some financial institution still have an internal policy that mirrors the act. It seems like your institutions internal policy is one of them. They are very difficult to make changes. You may have to look for a new broker or bank. If you do decide to close your present accounts just have the funds wired to the new institution to avoid any delays in sending funds to a PMB.
  10. I was a investment advisor in 1989. Many clients called me that day and I told them "When do you buy a suit at Nordstrom? When they are on sale. Today is the time to buy Stocks are on sale"
  11. I have a Harley Street Glide and for 5 years traveled in a toy hauler. I found it was easy to load, just ride up the ramp at a reasonable speed. Not too fast or too slow. I had a Condor wheel chock bolted to the floor inside and would just ride the bikes front wheel into the chock. Unloading was more of a problem. The best way is to leave the motor off, put the bike in gear and use the clutch not the break to back down the ramp. I am now handicapped from a motorcycle accident but still ride. I now travel in a Class A Motorhome with a hydrolift on the back. Much easier than trying to load a bike into a toy hauler.
  12. I am single and have volunteered in State and National Parkes. The State Park required 24 hours a week for my RV site. The National Park I am going to this summer will require 32 hours.
  13. I use the Escapees mail service and their South Dakota address and it really is no problem. You use the SD address for your drivers liscense, registration, auto and health insurance. Everything else goes to TX. Everything that goes to SD is forwarded to TX in a day or two. There are many SD mail forwarding services to use if you don't like this 2 address system. I used Americas Mail Box (AMB) for one year before I joined Escapees. I have heard of others like Dakota Post but know nothing about them. I met a gentalman at Quartzsite that was promoting a mail forwarding service out ofHill City SD but I can't remember the name of the company. You can change your address now via telephone, they will take your credit card and set up a box # for you. When you get to SD you go to DMV, any DMV doesn't have to be in the same city as your address, and show proof of at least one overnight stay at a hotel or RV park, AMB has their own campground. You don't need any mail to get a drivers liscense just proof of one night stay.
  14. Escapees has a coop park just south of Tucson in Benson. You can stay there.
  15. I'm not sure, I could be wrong, I am many times lol lol lol but I believe that the Patriot Act expired last year and was not renewed. Many financial institutions have internal policies that mirror the old Act and are not aware that the Act is no longer law, yet continue to enforce their company policy as if it were the law.
