  1. same thing at the Quartzsite RV Show in AZ. People with small dogs in baby strollers up and down the isles.
  2. It is not only my right to vote but it is my duty. I am full time with no physical address but I am a citizen. As long as a State recognizes a PMB as a valid address for a driver's license I should be allowed to use that address to register to vote. As a responsible voter I should research ALL the issues and make an intelligent decision on how to vote.

    Purchasing Fuel

I use the Pilot/Flying J Good Sam RV card at the semi lane and pay at the pump. No problem. Get my discount. a full tank and dont even have to go inside and stand in line behind people buying soda and coffee.
  4. Are you planning on going full time or just part time? This would help determine what type of RV you will need and what accessories will be required. For most applications you will need at least a water filter , water regulator , and a couple of 25 foot fresh water hoses, 15 to 20 feet of sewer line and a wash out hose separate from your fresh water hoses, an Electrical Management System, a couple of outdoor chairs, beer, sunglasses and a hat, lol lol lol.
  5. Exactly as Kirk said. You will be given a new loan on the new vehicle and the old loan will be paid off. The dealer should give you credit for the old vehicle against the purchase price of the new vehicle and your State of registration should also give you credit on the sales tax of the new vehicle. Additionally if you purchased an extended warranty you will have to cancel the old policy and get prorated credit for the price you paid and purchase a new policy for the new vehicle.
  6. A real service dog will not need to be muzzled since it has been trained not to bark bite or attack. There is no certificate issued to someone who is handicapped but it is a good idea. when I got my handicapped plates for my vehicle I had to get a Dr to sign a form. That Dr or the DMV could just as well provide me with a certificate that I am handicapped.
  7. They take your $300 and do nothing. Your rig is never sold and they never do any financing or sell an extended warranty. They make money scamming you.
  8. I am handicapped, a partial amputee. I could not afford to buy a trained service dog. I rescued a dog from the pound and trained her myself. She is a great service dog. Never barks, goes under the table at restaurants and is quiet (you wouldn’t even know she was there) etc. There is no certificate given by the government, only a certificate ie: diploma from the school, hence none is required. I could not get a service vest from my vet or even at Pet Smart or Petco and had to buy one online. I was going to fly Southwest once and was told by them that I had to purchase my ticket at least a month in advance because they only allow one dog at a time on the plane. This was a few years ago. I decided to drive instead. After several years of therapy I can now walk without assistance. I still have my dog but no longer use her as a service dog because I do not want to abuse the system.
  9. When I first started out I got Blue Ox locking pins for the receiver hitch and tow bars. They had a plastic cover over the key hole to keep dirt out. The covers all came off and the holes got so dirty it was difficult to unlock the pin. I got rid of them and have used regular cotter pins for 7 years with no problem. I always check them every morning before hitting the road and at every fuel stop.
  10. Have friends almost following this exact route right now. They are spending June in MI, July in ND, Aug in MT and ID, Sept in UT and CO, Oct in NM, Nov in AL, and the winter in FL. I’m meeting them in Aug up in ID for the second half of the trip.
  11. Jesse A, I to own a house in Calif that is rented out and have a So Dakota address thru Escapees. SD is my domicle, drivers liscense, tags, Insurance etc. I just file a CA non resident tax return for the rental income. It’s no problem.
  12. Make sure it’s not a scam. Have seen lots of posts about people getting taken for $300 and never sold their rig. Check them out very carefully. Hopefully they are legit and you are successful selling your rig.
  13. May go to Moab UT with friends in Sept 2019. I have a 43 foot Class A pulling a Jeep Rubicon. They have a 40 foot Class A pulling a PU Truck. Any suggestions on camp grounds in the area. I know Sept is popular so I hope to make a reservation soon. Thanks for your help.
  14. Well the OP never came back with more information so I guess he found someone to help him?
  15. Call your insurance and ask them what they value it at. They always know the fair market value for insurance purposes. Get the VIN number to give to the insurance to get an accurate estimate of value.
  16. It’s great that you are planning ahead for your future RV life. I would not put money in an envelope, I would set up a separate savings account with a local credit union and deposit your funds there. You mentioned that you want a Class A gas RV. Look for one that already has what you want, a good generator, washer dryer, fans etc or get the seller to add them as part of the purchase price. You can purchase a canister water filtration system for your water. Solar is great but unless you boondock a LOT it may not be worth the investment. If you have good batteries and a good inverter you will be alright without solar, especially if you have a generator to recharge your batteries while boondocking. I got a used BlueOx tow bar and it didn’t last a year. Buy a new one.
  17. Linda. I am handicapped and being in a pool surrounded by water actually helps me balance. I can no longer play beach volleyball but often play pool volleyball. The water supports me and helps me stay standing up. She may only be able to exercise in a pool.
  18. I had a neighbor who had a duck and a Vietnamise pot belly pig. He would take both for a walk every evening going down the sidewalk on our street. Neither were on a leash.
  19. First you must decide what type of entity you want to be, Sole Proprietor, Partnership, Limited Liability Corporation (LLC), C Corp, or S Corp. The way to establish each is different in every State. If you are going to use an assumed name you must also file a Doing Business As (DBA). I would contact a Business Lawyer in TX to help you.
  20. I volunteered at Cape Hatteras one summer and at Custer State Park several summers a few years ago. I am on my 8th summer as a full timer.
  21. I once took a Air France flight from LA to Paris. Many of the French had dogs with them on the plane ✈️ under their seat. They did not kennel them. When I got to Paris most of the restaurants allowed dogs to sit under the table. Now let’s not even talk about Mexico.
  22. Looks like you are at Silver Strand State Park? My ex girlfriend is a FedEx driver in San Diego. She always backs into a space in her FedEx truck and her personal truck. As far as your neighbors not backing in, most campgrounds hosts, when notified, will ask the campers to pull out and back into the space as it was designed to do, hence all the hookups on the drivers side of the space when backed in and aligned with the hookups on the RV. As far as the dogs barking, another thing to tell the host. As far as the smoker, he is on your space and not doing anything illegal but could be a good neighbor and smoke downwind if possible.
  23. You say that you have a Class A with a built in generator. Not sure about your rig but most Class As with a built in generator already have a built in auto start for the generator.
  24. Before I bought my Class A with a Travler Dish on the roof I had a 5er and used the Pathway X2 with a 211K receiver. It worked great. I had an external hard drive as a DVR There are some limitations as to what receivers can work with the Pathway, 211K or 211Z and a few others. Also these receivers are single tuners so you can not record one program while watching another.
