  1. We are full time and use Alliant, we are very happy with them. They are an internet bank but the few time we have needed cash(we try to charge everything) we just get out an amount to carry us through many months. Never had any problems at all with them and they understand RVers. My only negative is I don't like the checks they supply. The checks have a carbon copy and I find it very annoying, have no idea what to do with the carbons so I trash them, just a waste of paper for me. But then it has taken us 4 years to use up 100 checks. No problem with ATMs and if you are charged a fee they will reimburse the fee. We have never been charged a fee.
  2. Get Libre, it is a suite that is free and on your computer. I agree about the cloud and keeping my personal stuff close to home. It is similar to Office, there will be a learning curve.
  3. Guys, wasn't there once a "rule" you should be at 80% hitch weight? I have no idea why I think that. You will probably be more comfortable with a 30-32' 5th. You don't want the trailer pushing you down the road and having difficulty stopping.
  4. Once you come to terms with the 5th wheel size the next item will be selecting an RV. Unless you go custom you don't have much choice what materials are used in an RV. The more important thing is floor plan. Questions to ask yourself: can I access the bathroom and at least the refrigerator when the slides are in(ask dealer to bring in slides), how big are the tanks, what happens if it rains for 3-4 days and we are stuck inside the RV, where are you interested in camping(commercial or state and national parks, this will affect your size), solar and generator if thinking about boondocking(plus enough batteries). Answer these questions and then there will be more.
  5. Just thought of another one Harpers Ferry West Virginia.
  6. You might want to spend some time around Richmond. I haven't been there in years but recall Monument Ave as being very interesting and they now have a riverwalk.
  7. The Dining Rewards Program at Bonefish, Outback and Carrabba's is better and they won't give both. It is one or the other. We use it for Denny's.
  8. You would think the mail service would tell us about the junk mail registry each time we renew. I never hear about it before.
  9. Have you ever been to Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown, Jamestown? Not Civil War but part of the founding of our country, same for Philadelphia and Independence Hall. Washington DC is awesome for a couple of weeks.
  10. OP has never responded to this thread. We are talking to ourselves.
  11. Here is a list of the more well known agencies. Miller and FCIS are very popular. FCIS 800-331-1520 Miller Insurance 800-622-6347 AIS Insurance RV Advantage Foremost Insurance Explorer Insurance
  12. I'd go to a local post office and see if they can tell you what is going on. Hopefully all the USPS have the same computer system and can look at your information.
  13. We just bought an RV lot and had someone come out to install our extra dish(backup on a tripod) onto a column. He couldn't install it on the column(we have side covers and they were in the way) but just set up the tripod and lined it up for us. No comment about not being allowed. I have never heard that one before.
  14. I have been using Walmart Pay for years. Initially they matched prices to all the other stores in the area and gave you money back if another store had the same item at a lower price. Walmart no longer does that. The main reason I use Walmart Pay now is that all the receipts are on my phone, with pictures of each item. This is great when I am in another store and wondering if a "sale" item is really a good price. If it is an item I normally buy I can look it up easily.
  15. If your PC is still fine for you why get a new one. Have you ever needed Windows support??
  16. I do so few returns that this was all new to me and surprising.
  17. Many of us buy one of the Progressive Industries model. They are a well respected company and have both 30 amp and 50 amp. It would be best if you educated yourself first so start reading. You also will need to decide if you want a pedestal version or locate one inside the rv.
  18. I called Amazon and the generic answer was "we made a mistake". I felt they should have sent out a correction to those people affected. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr We just use a single credit card and charge most everything on it, use very little cash, no reason to. My CU sends me an email as soon as a charge is made, pretty much instantaneous. We also get 2.5% back on all charges so that adds up to a tidy sum. Only carry this card. Pay it off every month. Charge as much as we can rest is deducted from checking.
  19. And in 28 years of using auto-pay we have never had this occur. I don't consider this an issue and the amount of time auto-pay saves is huge.
  20. There is no difference between an electric awning and a manual awning, except convenience. I can tie down my electric awning in the same way I did a manual awning, no need for support poles.
  21. I can't access it through either. I am trying to access via Escapees.com, maybe that is where the problem is?
  22. Getting this message when trying to access their site via Firefox. Who do I tell???
  23. Yes, credit card. What would Amazon have to do with Consumer Cellular?
  24. We have everything on autopay. Just simplifies life. We have had autopay since the early 90's on various things and have never had any problems. Never need to worry about a late payment, remembering a payment etc. I called them and the note wasn't meant for me since it would be paid off in 6 months. Worst case is I would have just paid it off now. I do prefer autopay to a credit card vs. the checking account though.
