  1. Ed, Email address and/or phone number? Suggestion: List the specifics of what you're offering. For example: Canon EF 100-400mm f 4.5-5.6 L IS II
  2. IMO, Wikipedia provides a good description of "social media". "Social media are interactive media technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, interests, and other forms of expression through virtual communities and networks.[1][2] While challenges to the definition of social media arise[3][4] due to the variety of stand-alone and built-in social media services currently available, there are some common features:[2] Social media are interactive Web 2.0 Internet-based applications.[2][5] User-generated content—such as text posts or comments, digital photos or videos, and data generated through all online interactions—is the lifeblood of social media.[2][5] Users create service-specific profiles for the website or app that are designed and maintained by the social media organization.[2][6] Social media helps the development of online social networks by connecting a user's profile with those of other individuals or groups.[2][6] The term social in regard to media suggests that platforms are user-centric and enable communal activity. As such, social media can be viewed as online facilitators or enhancers of human networks—webs of individuals who enhance social connectivity.[7]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_media

  4. Randy, Well said. Although I have some N95's, I haven't used them. I've chosen to use KN-95s from a reputable source.
  5. I'm a big believer in cost-benefit analysis, as part of decision making. For me, the cost of the new vaccine was trivial. The odds rated potential of catching Covid was not. I chose to get my free shot on a trip to my local Costco a couple of weeks ago. It took me awhile to fill out the form, check into the pharmacy, and get my physical shot. Total amount of my time: a little under 1 hour. I then picked up the stuff on my shopping list and drove home. I don't care what percentage of others have chosen to get, or not get, the new vaccine. I happen to believe, that all of us would be better off, if more people did. And I honestly don't understand the reluctance of folks to get vaccines. But I've decided to be pragmatic, and accept where we are. Everyone gets to decide, for themselves, on whether to get a shot, or not. And everyone is free to protect themselves, in any way they want.
  6. Randy, I don't know what report you read, but their conclusion seems plausible. But to me, that's far removed from a single state's claim, that mRNA vaccines are killing 18-39 year old males.
  7. I've been an Ars Technica paid subscriber, for many years. Beth Mole doesn't do politics. "Beth is Ars Technica’s health reporter. She’s interested in biomedical research, infectious disease, health policy and law, and has a Ph.D. in microbiology." Earlier in this thread, the assertion was made, that those of us who disagree with the claims are doing it for political reasons. B. S. "The source of this guidance is facing objections from folks who disagree with his stance and the political views of his boss (the FL Governor), not because they can articulate cogent responses to his decisions and the cited studies upon which his policies are based." Beth's article is cogent response to the "study". To me, trying to label all of the negative feedback, from Health experts as political, is a just lame form of misdirection. The study does not support the claim, and politics has nothing to do with it.
  8. You don't have to do it now. I googled: windows 11 22H2 size and the first hit said: "around 5 GB". https://pureinfotech.com/windows-11-22h2-available-eligible-pcs-download/ Eventually MS will stop providing security updates for your current version of Windows. But they will warn you before this happens. You still won't "have to" do it at that time, but you should.

    We made it!

Genuine best wishes and congratulations, to both of you. 👍
  10. My first oil test also said I had an abnormally high level of fuel in my oil. But in my case, the cause was excessive idling. Diesel fuel evaporates much quicker from hot oil than it does from warm oil. If most of your time is idling (even high idling), fuel will gradually build up in your oil.
  11. "Don't forget the leaders control the parkin' meters." Vladimir, I honestly do not understand what you are intending to convey with the above quote. My impression of Dylan's warning, is to beware of those who are currently in power and control the status quo. To me, a key automotive example of this is feature bundling. Why do I need to pay for a sun roof, to get the latest version of Blue-tooth? If you think Tesla's marketing approach is disruptive - I agree. If you think that it is customer hostile, I'm skeptical and genuinely interested in better understanding your perspective.
  12. RV, That's the first I've heard of Starlink 2.0. Hopefully our Government will let Elon Musk run. He gets things done. Tesla is transforming the automobile industry. Yes, they are the clear market leader in the US for battery operated vehicles. They are also leading the transformation from car sales by local dealers to car purchasing via the web. Elon brought the U.S. the first economically reusable rockets. They are in the early stage of transforming our access to space. And it looks like they, and their derivatives, are becoming the new standard for the entire world. And he's making low-altitude satellites relevant for almost everyone, not just edge cases. The old Hughes Net type satellite networks are in the process of becoming irrelevant. Elon personally responded, within a few days, to a request from the Ukraine on twitter for communications help. And I trust that Starlink 2.0. will be even better. So I am an Elon booster, but not an acolyte. I don't own any Tesla stock, any Tesla products, nor do I expect to in the next few years. Thank you RV, for the new information.
  13. Sometimes life sucks. Good you were able to roll with this punch. Hopefully a glorious time awaits for you, a few weeks from now.
  14. Here's a TED talk video conversation with Elon Musk from two weeks ago. The first 10 minutes and 15 seconds are about Tesla. The remaining 45 minutes of the conversation is about Musk the person, including his thoughts about Twitter. Elon Musk talks Twitter, Tesla and how his brain works — live at TED2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdZZpaB2kDM
  15. Ken, Thanks. I setup my mailing address in Sioux Falls, SD quite a while ago, but am not really using it yet. South Dakota does not require a special drivers license for non-commercial use of a Class 8 truck, with or without a heavy trailer. So I'm good to go.
  16. Although you have asked your question several times, no one has directly answered it. Presumably because they find the answer to be inconvenient. It's pretty clear to me that the answer to your question is likely: No. Some see arguing while others see a useful discussion. 😉 BTW, the closest DMV to me is in Danbury, CT. I leave with a new drivers license and/or vehicle license plates in hand.
  17. "Actually, that's not an issue at all. Twitter gets to decide." ------------------------- "Or management, or some regulatory agency, or …………………" ======================================================== Nope, Twitter decides on the specific issue Glenn brought up. And "management" is part of Twitter.
  18. Yes. The prime difference is the number/type of obstacles and the window of time available to change course. Far fewer obstacles and other vehicles at 35,000 feet.
  19. "But hate speech today is sometimes just common sense." "Example?" "Saying homosexual is sin and against God. You asked." ---------------------------------- Courageous answer. Honest question: Does Twitter prohibit people from saying homosexual is sin and against God? p.s. Didn't see pjstough's post before I posted
  20. Many websites provide free access to a few articles, and then switch to some form of blocking. I suspect 2gypsies has accessed more WSJ free articles than you have. And has crossed a pay wall threshold of the number of free views allowed.
  21. Here's an article that points out that a big part of the problem with Twitter, is the news feed algorithms.: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2022/04/opinion-elon-musk-should-get-rid-of-twitters-algorithmic-feed/
  22. " if ever/whenever you switch it is really an easy transition. " Good to know - thank you!
