No apology needed. She lived hard and fast, and it caught up wityh her. At 68, shes done. Drugs and poor life choices........... But she'd be happy to tag along on your next adventure.🤣
  2. Or that magic thing hooked to the pedal, Potentiameter? (sp?) Sounds like an electrical problem.
  3. There's just somethign wrong about a wiener dog named Willy. I like it though.👍

One, but she's in a nursing home and lonely for a man. Are you volunteering to cheer her up?

    Tinker Week?

Since I'm the only one left, I had to work on my own truck, with Mrs. EIEIO helping........ I decided it was time for a fuel filter change. Only about 20k miles, but the dome was pretty full. I carry a spare filter, so popped it in. Holy cow, there was a lot of sand and grit in the big black "nut" that secures the bowl. I scraped and blew it out with compressed air first, but still had lots. Thoroughly washed everything over at the solvent tank, dried it off and started putting it back together. But the new filter didn't seem to be too anxious about slipping into place. Hmmm........ The last time the filter was changed, at a "Genuine Cummins" shop, the "Tech" failed to remove the old sealing donut under the filter, and dropped another on top. Two ain't always better. Oddly enough, the new filter, a Luber Finer, did not come with a new donut.

    Air leak help

Since we're talking "air", today I serviced my air drier. Meritor 1200 w/ spin-on canister. Thank heavens Mrs. EIEIO was there to help. She pre-assembled the parts stack in the "spitter", and helped push the whole thing up in the base so I could install the snap ring. It would be a piece of cake on the bench, but upside down gets tiring.

Way cool. Is there a walk through from the cab to the LQ?

    Tinker Week?

I have one of those, but it won't handle the bigger sizes. Very handy when you're doing a lot of ties. This was an old, non factory tie, likely cut off with a wire cutter. Silly me for not noticing it the first time. I trimmed it with my knife, after I saw the red spots on the floor. Vern, You get it here, and we'll make it work like new.
  10. Likely not, because individually, we don't use that much fuel. Some time back, there was a survey done, and we averaged less than 10k miles/yr. To them, we're small potatoes. But, it might be worth a shot.
  11. I try to avoid truck stops near the interstate system, and look for smaller stations in industrial or agficultural areas, as they're usually a good bit cheaper. A couple weeks ago, we were west of Nashville and diesel was $0.40 cheaper 2 miles down a state highway. And that was a station with truck islands. If you're in Texas, just go to a Buccees..........🤣

Wounds were caused by a sharp end on a zip tie. I didn't notice until I had three "leakers" on one elbow. Just superficial scratches, but the older I get, the easier it is to "draw blood". Years of sun exposure has go the epidermis paper thin. Paper towels and electrical tape are the farmers first aid kit.😁

    Tinker Week?

We spent yesterday fixing two air leaks. One was a piece of cake, just a new o-ring. The other........ let's just say I left a trail of blood in the engine bay, and Steve polished a good portion of the shop floor with his tshirt. The main line going from the compresser to the air drier had no clamp at the fitting. It had rusted in two. There are 6 support straps hold it in place, three of which are very difficult to access. One you get to by going through the battery box............. No, we didn't take time to grab any pictures..........

    Tinker Week?

That would be fun. Sometimes a cheering section is all you need to get you over the hump. Today we took down the spare tire rack in Steve Dixon's cargo box, straightened it, welded the break, and re-inforced it. It's all back together now with some tweaking to make it easier to get the wheel back off. Copper tube sleeves now are wear bushings so the threads don't dig into the aluminum wheels. Tomorrow we dig into the pass through manifold and put o-rings in fittings. If we do well enough, we'll pull my truck in and do the same.

The .50 sounds fun, but playing farmer might be difficult, as I retired.......👍

    Tinker Week?

At this point, it looks like Dixons, Churches, and the Popes may be the sum of our gathering. But we never know if we might drag in some stragglers...... Steve has to leave early to play bird man, the Churches have an appointment up north in camperville, and Susan will be helping play nurse with a grandson who had minor surgery yesterday. But, the weather looks nice for Thursday evening to go to the concert/cruise in. And I have an air dryer cartridge sitting here, and a new leveling valve, fuel filter, oil filter, and some other stuff ready to go. We'll stay busy.
  17. At least you have a good attitude. When we left the ECR, we went to a rv repair facility in west TN. We were planning on a 4-5 day stay. It turned into 16 days, with the first week having to stay in the shop while theyfixed stuff (bedroom slide floor), and installed a BigFoot system. We enjoyed it, taking the motorcycles out to tour the area, finding hidden gems in the countryside. We'll go back. Oh, fuel there was $2.68 a couple miles off the freeway.

    Tinker Week?

T'is a bit moist..... Rivers are running high and muddy, what corn is planted is a bit "yaller". But the Tinker Weekend is a GO! We had supper with Steve and Gail Dixon this evening, and tossed about some ideas. First, there will be no, I repeat, NO, organized seminars, classes, or mandatory events. Just good ol' fun projects and fix it sessions. Grease under the fingernails is guaranteed. On Thursday evening, there's a free concert just up the river from Little Farm, in Lawrenceburg, IN. Music is '50s-'60s, cruise in, and a sprinkling of vendors. It might be fun to cruise in with a handfull of smarts...... Bring your own lawn chairs. https://www.thinklawrenceburg.com/news/main-street-news/2019-music-on-the-river-schedule/ Depending on how many folks show up, and how inspired we get, we may fire up a grill at the shop. Or get lazy and go grab a bilte. Shooting range will be thrown together to accomodate however many people bring iron. Small bore and handgun will be right behind the shop.
  19. I suppose it would only be fair if CA/NV/AZ/NM/TX paid Colorado for all their snow melt as well. I think I see a storm a-brew'n................

    Tinker Week?

Tick, tock, tick, tock........... Less than a week. Can I have a show of hands? We can start Thursday if anyone's ready. I can leave a couple of trucks in the shop overnight if we don't finish something. I have shade, fans, and a shop cat for entertainment.
  21. Wellllll, you didn't say 500 bu. of what? And, you didn't say it was loaded..........
  22. We can get back on topic by suggesting you must need a new turbo..............😜
  23. I just got home from going out for fried chicken with my sister and her husband, who was in the first group of GI's in VietNam. Sitting on their patio, he spoke about how thankful he is that we're able to go out to eat, and sit in peace in the yard, without fear of attack, in a pretty safe country. He paid a price so the rest of us can enjoy these things, but not nearly the price of many. He had tears in his eyes when he spoke of the thousands who weren't as lucky as he, and never came home. My hat's off to them.
  24. Due to the intermittenness (is that a word?) of the problem, I believe the problem is in the harness. Flexing wires for near 20 years might cause them to quit holding hands.
