  1. Yup, they stopped bye the first evening we were here. Their rig is very similar to ours. They're a few miles north of us. I'm thinking this area might make a good place for am HDT/motorcycle rally some day.
  2. Do you have a Davco filter? I've had the o ring at the filler cap leak, as well as the o ring at the base.
  3. Rolled into Terlingua, TX last night. Got volunteered to judge a qualifier for the world chili cook off today. Judging included free beer and palate cleansers. Life is good. unloaded the bikes and will take a ride tomorrow. Weather is here, wish you were beautiful. The rig draws a lot of attention, especially when we unload the smart. The hours spent measuring, drawing, and thinking have paid off.
  4. Welcome, Don. Do you have plans to integrate an air ride hitch along with your commercial hitch, or will you just use the standard fifth plate?
  5. Our plans are loose. We're enjoying poking around here in the heart of Cajun country. We'll likely head over to Big Bend for a week or so, then to Rusty's RV Ranch in NM for a bit. Rumor has it that North Ranch may be crowded in February?
  6. We're just west of Lafayette, LA. 16 degrees F this a.m. Nearly all businesses closed due to ice. Hopefully, it'll warm up tomorrow.
  7. Sitting in Yuma, TN for the night, trying to decide whether to. Continue west on I-40 or drop down to I-20 tomorrow. Weather looks ugly Monday night and Tuesday if we stay on 40.
  8. I use a 90 degree "pic" to stab and lift out the old o-ring, or pieces thereof. https://www.tylertool.com/gearwrench-84000-7-piece-hook-and-pick-set/kdtn84000,default,pd.html?ref=pla&zmam=31282435&zmas=47&zmac=723&zmap=kdtn84000&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIj6Dnre6E2AIVhoKzCh3DGQUdEAQYASABEgJ-fvD_BwE
  9. What part, and how long will ya be there? We're hoping to head towards Big Bend/Alpine after Christmas. Been there a couple of time and love it, espeiailly on bikes.
  10. We're at Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky with Paul & Paula, Spindrift and his bride, and another couple, enjoying a weekend of campfires and tall tales. Might find time for an adult beverage and a cigar too.
  11. Yes, we were there in late June, along with Paul and Paula, and of course Daisy. Nice peaceful place. No kids running about and no golf carts. Did I mention it's peaceful? Try Charlie's Cafe for breakfast.
  12. Works the same way at an old bike rally. Bonus points if you kneel with a flashlight...................
  13. My wife mentioned this, after following me one day. She saw drivers suddenly slam on their brakes when I'd backed off the throttle a bit. I bet an old electron whiz could figure out how to activate the brake lights with the jake signal...................
  14. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but leaving a safe distance is just so hard to do. It seems every time I leave a gap, two others fill it. It's amazing that only one died in that mess. Hopefully. the others weren't hurt too badly.
  15. Hey, he woke up. Food brings him out of hiding........ Does it count if a member lets you park your rig at their place, then hauls you to the restaurant in question? We have a new little place bye us, worthy of a visit.
  16. We need to revive that Road Food thread.......... Charlie's in Omaha, AR has good breakfasts.
  17. Back home in south-east Indiana. Took three days out to New Mexico, via Concordia, MO, where we had a brief but enjoyable visit with the Dixons, two days from there to Red River, NM, where we spent 5 days riding the mountain roads and fly fishing, two days to Harrison, AR, where we met up with Paul and Paula for a week of riding the Ozarks, and finally two days to drive home. A total of 7 days in the truck for about 3000 miles. The days spent on the bikes were more fun. On a whim, we got our rig washed and waxed in a campground in Effingham, IL. Not cheap, ($189), and just a fair job. It was some product where the "wax" is in the soap. Blue Beacon would be a better value. But it sure looks better than before. Live and learn...............
  18. We're at Ozark View RV just north of Harrison, AR with Paul & Paula. Good roads and good friends equals good times. Will meander back home next week.
  19. River Ranch has a few sites that work, if you don't mind back in. Not fancy, but not expensive for a tourist area. pulling out tomorrow to meet up with Paul & Paula in the Ozarks.
  20. In Red River, NM, at River Ranch. Cool little town, filled with Texans. Unloaded the bikes today, going around the Enchanted Circle and strafing corners for a few days. Then it's off to the Ozarks to meet up with Paul & Paula for more motorcycle fun.
  21. If that o-ring is leaking, the fuel level in the filter will drop. I had it happen on the Mack, and it drove me nuts. I spent way too much time and energy (and $) over thinking it, before I changed that simple piece. Put a piece of tape at the fuel level on the glass bowl. Come back a while later and see if it's changed.
  22. Before you tear into the fuel pump, be sure you don't have a leak that allows it to suck air.
  23. I am looking into the future...........a Jackalopee of modular design where the case is about double the current size, and the circuit board acts as the "mother" to whatever strips are installed on either side. Multiple access ports on sides and bottom.
  24. Hmmmm.... Why not offer the Jackalopee II with terminal strips instead of the tabs? That way, folks like Phil and I, who wish to reduce the total number of connections, can have it our way, and the folks who wish the ability to add wires later can also. A slightly larger case would be required.
