  1. Thanks to everyone. Ought to be able to fill a few weeks.
  2. Everyone should have met Flapper. He made this world a better place. RIP brother. Now back to regular programming.
  3. Thanks to the help of GeorgiaHybrid I repaired. First I used a plastic razor blade and cleaned off all the flaking around the edges. Then used 1000 grit sand paper to scuff up the area and surround. (Use can use the Scotch pads as mentioned above). Use caution and not rub too hard because the base coat comes off very easily. After cleaning with mild soap and water and drying, masked off the area and sprayed with two part clear coat I purchased on Amazon. I sprayed 4 coats at 10-15 minute intervals. Allowed it to dry and cure for 48 hours and then used wet sanding with1500, light compound, followed by polishing and then waxing using a variable speed Porter Cable buffer. The trick that Georgia showed me was using some pressure on the buffer to heat up the clear coat and get it to blend. Go multiple directions. It’s an art because too much heat or pressure can damage. All said and done not a perfect restoration but very passable and should last awhile. I will try to post some pics of before and after. Note. Even though you mask off area to be sprayed (we used blue shop towels) you may want to go cover more than you think you need. Even with a light breeze, I got some overspray on other areas I’m going to have to buff off. The two part clearwith the hardener really sticks.
  4. Thanks. Liberal Air Museum for sure. My dad (Army Air Corp) was stationed there in WWII. Been to Cosmosphere and Salt Mines Will check out the other suggestions.
  5. DW and I leaving mid August for North Texas (mandatory MIL visit). then up to South Dakota and Yellowstone/ Grand Tetons until mid September. We want to hang around Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska or Eastern Colorado until we go to the National Rally in October. So any suggestions on campgrounds, places of interest for that intervening month? BTW have been to Dodge City.
  6. Phil, If I offended you, I apologize. I was just funning with you as a friend. Guess bad attempt at humor.
  7. I got it Daryl cause I have teenage grandkids. Rick just was exposed to too many chemicals during his farming lifetime, so have to keep it simple. (You know I luv ya Rick 😀).
  8. 🤣🤣🤣 Uh, Phil, you just got owned as my granddaughter would say.
  9. My pet peeve are the idiots that won’t merge when it goes to one lane for road work or otherwise. These folks are the same that probably cut in line at the buffet. I’ve actually had some that passed not on the shoulder but actually in the grass off the shoulder to cut the merge line.
  10. Singled or tandem? Google formula for fulcrum and it will give you an idea. Do you have Power Point? If so I have multiple slides that have the formulas and how to calculate. Just personal message me an email address and I will try to send to you.
  11. Same thing happened to me. Mine threw a code saying output speed sensor. Replacement should be a 15 minute job but mine turned into 8 hours when top broke off barrel.
  12. Phil, One article I read said Fitzgerald had been involved in the court and lost the repeal of the regs, but you are more correct saying it’s more to do with the manufacturers business decision.
  13. Pete, We have a 2013 Passion we bought new. Have had no issues and that’s what we carry. We likewise use it as a daily driver when not traveling.
  14. Phil, Don’t know how to download video here but title is “Glider Kits Are Dead-July 1 2019” by Smart Trucking on YouTube. When I looked on line to see if true several places mentioned that each manufacturer could make 300 kits but they were really not that interested since it was a limited market. p.s. Tell me how to include videos 😊
  15. Lots of companies and owner/operators bought to put a remanufactured pre-emissions engine in for reliability and less service cost. Fitzgeralds was a leader in manufacturing these trucks. Many of us toured their facility and it was a first class operation. No future it seems now after they deplete their current inventory. They would take old Detroit, Cummins, and some Cats and remanufacture to better than new engines.
  16. Just saw a video saying as of July 1 glider kits will no longer be manufactured by HDT manufacturers. Fitzgeralds apparently tried to fight it in court but lost. Another company down the tubes. Wonder if they’ll reinvent themselves in another way?
  17. Let’s see $50 to weigh, $5000 for leak detection. Any takers? 😂
  18. I used to spray with white lithium grease, made a white gooey mess. Now I put on a vinyl glove and have a jar of marine axle grease I smear everywhere on jaws etc. Now I have a bluish black gooey mess 😜. BTW word of caution, don’t hit your head on the trailer pin or it will make your Brylcreem days seem like child’s play. Don’t ask me how I know.
  19. Thanks for posting Randy.
  20. David Dixon was going to post the schematic on the ECR website. Let me check on that. If not I’ll see if I can find my copy and post here.
  21. Yeah, but Jim, a drop in the bucket for a top 1%er like you, lol 😂
  22. Damn Darryl, I’m becoming Phil 2 saying you’re right. At least with a truck and trailer you have a place to stay and usually transportation (smart or other) while repairs are made. Can you imagine a month in a hotel? $$$.
  23. Again, some of the newer trailers have a touch pad lock with a keyed backup. Those keys are keyed differently for each lock, but I’m betting my key would probably open another pad somewhere out there, just not everyone. My protection from intrusion when I’m occupying the trailer is not the lock, it’s inside my trailer if you catch my drift. 😉
  24. Some of the newer trailers have latch locks with a “semi unique” key. My previous DRV had barrel locks with a unique key (put on by previous owner). In reality if someone wants to steal from your basement I’d rather have them open with a 751 than pry open with a crowbar. You might have noticed those doors aren’t really much of a challenge for a thief.
