norahg
Sandy and Steve Allgire pulled in and plugged into the next bush (we're calling them current bushes now) at La Posa South. It's great to see them again; it's been awhile. Norah & Howie Christmas Monkey's Excellent Adventure Blog
marty cassidy
I finally made it to New Orleans, and the thunderstorms and tornadoes are behind me now. I had to pull off the interstate, with about a hundred truckers, in Biloxi when the look of the sky became way too intimidating. I presumed they knew what was ahead of them. We filled up the Love's parking lot. Now it will be cool for a few days. I'll go to Betty's next week for several days, then to Livingston. I think I'm following Bob and Molly... 2007 Arctic Fox Fifth Wheel 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Green)

Carolyn Wilkerson
Maybe some of us need to remember what this life is about and what those wheels under us are for: the LOW temps in the RGV for the next ten days will be in the high 50s. I generally eat breakfast betwen 5 and 7 AM when I take my meds, you can bet that I won't be doing a morning walk this week. I'll just take my meds, eat my breakfast, check my favorite sites, and go back to bed. GREG, it's about TIME. GL to the BIG RED. norahg
Sounds like all you folks in the chilly southern state have found the perfect way to keep warm. ;-) Joe what are you doing outside in the cold. patricia90518
Cold weather settled in for my last few days at the SKP park in Casa Grande. It was due to be only in the upper 50's when I left on Tuesday. I spent that night at the Spotlight 29 Casino just off I-10 in Indio (CA) and had to run my generator all night when I found out my batteries weren't holding the charge. Fortunately there wasn't anyone nearby, and the one who was next to me when I woke up came in when the generator was running and could have moved if it had bothered them. Now I'm parked at a RV Resort in Indio (with warmer weather) until 1/8/11 when I head back to the casino to meet up with members of the FMCA SI (Singles International) Chapter before going in to the FMCA rally in Indio. After the rally, the SI's are headed down to the Slabs, a place I have never been but have heard a lot about, so I'll stop there for a few days before heading to Quartzsite. JoeandMarcia
Joe what are you doing outside in the cold. Stay in doors and turn up the heat until the cold snap passes. And miss out on my 5am morning walks? OK since you told me to I will be good and obey!!!!! Except to walk across the street to the clubhouse or hot tub. We will get out tomorrow to do the luncheon in Clermont, if I don't freeze getting into the jeep. Marcia will have it all warm and toasty before I attempt to get in. I really hope this cold snap isn't a sign of the way the winter is going to be, if it is Mexico or Australia will be in our future for next winter. lelandschliep
WOW! I just had the greatest drive ever! After a great visit with Carolyn in Monterey (at the Laguna Seca Recreation Area) and a great dinner and wonderful conversations we headed south on California 1. We must have averaged all of 25 mph due to the curves and dips and curves and curves. We hit a neat little Forest Service Campground at Kirk Creek just in time to park and watch one of the best sunsets I've ever seen. We're now in Morro Strand State park just north of Morro Bay. The sunset tonight wasn't quite as good as last night, a silly cloud got in the way. Don't know where to go tomorrow but it needs to be cheaper that this area! Thanks Carolyn for the great great time. Leland & Cathy
lelandschliep
Boy things sure change for us. We were seriously thinking of San Diego and then Yuma. Now we are in Bakersfield on our way to Pahrump. My sometimes employer called and I have a weeks work to do on the computer/internet. Whoo hooo, Christmas bonus money. I'm going to Pahrump to the SKP park to do this work and then probably home to Montana for Christmas. We'll let you know how it's going. Trish, we could have collided in CA! I feel like a pinball this winter. Bouncing around everywhere. later later. Leland Leland & Cathy

bobofthenorth
We closed on a slightly different shaped RV at the end of November. We're still living in the bus but I expect it's days are numbered. Anyone looking for a good used Prevost? The progression is supposed to be sailboat - motorboat - motorhome - rest home but we seem to have the order screwed up.
