Mike, Sandy and others Q bound:

We are leaving Q next week for Yuma (Kathy and Dave --- we'll see you soon). Then we'll be in Ontario, CA until Jan 4th when we will arrive back in Q for the duration of the season. Looking forward to seeing all those in S. California (Sal and Bobbie) and everyone coming to Q in January.

A piece of Q news. Paul Winer (ya'll remember Paul from the bookstore); well, it turns out he has other talents and will be putting on a musical show on Jan 12th at the QIA -- rumor has it that he will be wearing pants and shirt for the performance. I know that none of you will want to miss it.

Molly, I've had my eye out for Scott -- but no sightings of him so far this year.

Bob, that's great. It looks like it's at Shilshole. You've got to tell us your plans, especially how it it gets to Q this winter.

Close Marty, its at Elliott Bay. For a while we thought Q might be on the calendar for this winter but I think its out now. I'm still finishing up a project on the Canadian prairies (read -- COLD) and we won't likely get back to Seattle much before Christmas. Once we get there we need to get busy and get out of the state before the revenuers come looking for their pound of WA state tax. Like any new RV there's a ton of things we need to do to make it "ours" which will likely occupy us well into the spring at which point we want to be out using it. You'll have to weather the Quartzsite floods without us this winter. You'll be pleased to know that one of the first major upgrades I have planned is the addition of about 400 watts of solar.

Hey Gang, I'm already feeling the cold front coming to the area, and I don't like it at all.

Tomorrow we will be getting on the boat headed S O U T H , I couldn't get pontoons attached to the rig so I guess the next best thing is to leave it and get on a boat.

Greg, sorry about the Big Red, they could have walked away with it if they had heald on to the ball, but I guess Jay is happy.

Everyone have a good week and I'll catch up next week......

Yes Marty I concur with your Holiday Bowl assessment - we can thank the Big XII office for that match up - as they coerced the Insight bowl into taking Missouri instead of Nebraska seems they didn't want the Insight bowl to turn into an info-mercial for the Big X (Nebraska v Iowa)

Anyone else think its odd that the Big XII has 10 teams and the Big Ten has 12 !?!?!?

Got my Luckenbach "fix" this afternoon !!! Further south, albeit only a few miles to Boerne tomorrow.

Cheers

File this under: Can't a brother catch a break?

Anyone who has spent more than 10 minutes hanging around the Class of 2007 knows ONE TRUTH - JOE likes it to be a tad bit warmer than 70 degrees. So he and Marcia are in Florida it gets a little cool so they book a 5 day cruise. So what is up with this mornings headline:

"Cancun temperatures plunge to 100 year record low !!!"

Cheers

Cathy and I are coming to Quartzsite after the first of the year. We will surely hunt you guys up (as opposed to hunting you down, I suppose)

Our plans are not made yet and probably won't be till the week we show up.

Make it warm for us ok. Tired of half cold days.

This next Wednesday we are storing the mh and driving to Montana for Christmas. Wish us good roads.

Newby's aren't home right now but will be Sunday or Monday. We're out catching up with the oldest grandson in WA. (It's really RAINY out here!!!) Don't need anything but thanks for asking. When will you be arriving in the RVG? Save us some sunshine - we'll be needing it! And we're looking forward to seeing you two again - travel safe (everyone who's on the move).

Greg, you moved us the wrong direction. We are in Yuma -- going to see Dave and Kathy Bennett tomorrow -- YEAH!!!

Next week we move up to Ontario, CA for 3 weeks and a couple of days. Should be back out to Q about Jan 4th, if all goes according to plan.

Hate to brag but it was 81 here in Yuma today. No, I really do like bragging about the warm weather.

Norah be very very careful about telling those east coasters about our temps here. The next thing you know we will be surrounded by classmates. See you tomorrow, will probably need some sun screen . :)

Yea they were crying in Cozumel too, but it was mid 70's so I was happy.

We left Tampa and it was 50, lows in Mexico (where we were) were around 70 so I was really happy. The sad news is when I looked at the extended forecast for Tampa when we got back. If it wasn't for our daughter coming to spend a few days and doctors appointments we would be headed to Yuma tomorrow. Doctor appointment is the 29th so the 30th we are headed somewhere.

What is up with the weather?????????

We had a gr8 time, and I think I'm ready to start looking for a condo in Costa Maya to sp-end a few months each year.

Right! we wouldn't want to have to be surrounded by our friends/classmates for the winter, would we?

I don't know...sounds like fun to me! Being surrounded by our friends/classmates for the winter, that is!

Since I'm not in southern Oregon for another winter, I'm not really complaining. Here at Laguna Seca Raceway it seems to rain for a couple of days and then we have 3-5 days of sunshine. No temps over 65, but it's still good as far as I'm concerned.

Glover and Bennetts ...you know we are there in spirit even if we can't be there in person. I actually have decided that if I can't be in the Arizona warmth then I really like it around 35. Today was 48 and raining all day. Gives me chills to the bone and I now remember why I left Virginia in the winter!!! The cloud cover is so bad that we can't even get satelittle reception.

Hey!! all you classmates were missed but were talked about frequently hope none off your ears caught on fire. <_< We had a great visit with the Glovers today we caught up on our summer travels and reminisced about the pasted. Had a good buffet in the casino and a few spins on the slots Howie won enough to pay for lunch and Norah, Kathy & I went looking for cosigners We plan on seeing them and others at "Q" in Jan. Wish you all could experience the wonderful weather that we have had for the past two weeks. I know it will change but will enjoy for now. (Marty we need a update on El nino for 2011) Wishing you all safe travels.

No El Nino this year, Dave. They only happen about every 5-7 years. Instead we get the opposite this year, La Nina.

In a La Nina the PNW is much wetter and colder (they were mild and dry last winter, remember), while the SW is drier and hotter than normal. Arizona won't see the rain like last winter, and the RGV will be particularly warmer and drier. Eastern portions of the southern US will be drier and warmer as well; the current cold dry weather is a characteristic of La Nina as it develops during the season. Folk there can expect improving conditions soon.
