marty cassidy
Joe Peterson died yesterday (see discussion in General Rving on the forum). If the Class would like to do something, I'm here in Livingston and will do whatever the consensus seems to be. I'll head up to the AC in a bit to see about details and report back here... 2007 Arctic Fox Fifth Wheel 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Green)
Carolyn Wilkerson
What a loss for all SKPs! My guess is Joe would want us to make a contribution to the Care Center in his memory. homenomore
I agree Carolyn, Kathy & I were thinking that folks that want to can make a donation to care in Joe;s name. We believe Kay would like that. patricia90518
Not completely sure Trish... we have been toying with looking for a spot at La Posa South a bit closer to the "real road" hoping it will be less dusty. I'll post the coordinates once we get back and settled. Norah Norah - I don't use a GPS, so directions would also be helpful. patricia90518
This is a cut & paste from the SOLOS Yahoo Group for your information. From: Cathie Carr <egbok@escapees.com> Date: Thu, Dec 23, 2010 at 7:46 AM Subject: RE: Joe Peterson Dear Friends, This is the most difficult e-mail I've ever had to write—and finding the "right words" just can't be found. I know most of you have heard the sad news of my dad's passing. Just so you know his blue eyes sparked bright with his kiss goodbye, and as he was wheeled off to surgery he was telling the surgeons a joke! His poorly-functioning heart finally failed him during surgery, but without surgery he would have died quickly from the aneurism that was leaking in his stomach. Per Joe's wishes, his body has been donated to science and there will be no funeral. We will have a "celebration of life" memorial service in January. A date will be announced once it is determined with plenty of notice for those of you who would like to attend and need time to arrange travel plans. We need some time to grieve privately, but please know that my mom (Kay) and the family so appreciate all the beautiful messages we have received, and we thank you for your prayers and support during this terribly difficult time. JoeandMarcia
Thanks Trisha for posting that. It is always sad for us left behind when someone passes away. For those of us who believe we have the comfort and expectations of something better when this happens. JoeandMarcia
OK enough is enough, it was warmer in Middlesboro Kentucky at 5 AM today than it was in Zephyrhills FL. I'm having fun with all the gadgets on my new phone, and one the apps is current temps. I have Middlesboro, (our "old" home town) in it and where we are now, and today I was watching to see how cold it got because our heat pumps kicked off sometime last night. (Thank God for electric heaters) At 5:15 this AM Middlesboro showed 28 degrees, and Zephyrhills showed 27 degrees. The good part is FL (this area and deeper south anyway) will see no more below freezing temps this season. Jan and Feb will be warmer than normal and I will be a very happy camper. I get my information from many sources, I caculate them all, and then I HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!! With this new information we have (or I have) decided to quit thinking about heading west. (I know if I do it will be cold out there) Besides all the good folks here in FL couldn't raise enough $$ to out do all the donations sent from the good folks out west to keep us here. Now if you are north of us you can help by placing a fan outside blowing all the threats of cold back towards Canada, or Washington. (state) The stop signs I placed on the way down for the cold: have not been working, neither has the cold do not enter signs, so we really need the fans going. We will be back in the 70's by Thursday, I just hope I can hold out another couple of days..... norahg
Joe not sure I could follow all of that, but if you are staying east then we can be assured that the weather in Arizona will be wonderful and warm. After 4 years we all now know you only think you are chasing the 70s. The truth is that the cold weather is following you. JoeandMarcia
OH MY GOSH, I must have fooled the weatherman, I just thought about going to AZ last week, and today I see the HIGH is only going to be 44 degrees. But because my lovely wife twisted my arm and threatened some other things we are sitting in Bushnell FL with the all allusive 70's. I just might let her twist my arm more often.
