Dean Quirk
We have a forest River Salem 17 ft travel trailer. My wife still needs to work but can work some from the Rv. Ours is set up for king connect. Is it worth getting or is there a better option out there for internet?
TXiceman
Your internet speed on WiFi totally depends on the bandwidth of the host or provider computer. As more people get on line, you will slow to a crawl. Most parks have minimal bandwidth. You best bet will be a hot spot with unlimited data. Search and you will find many threads on WiFi. 57becky
We've had a Netgear 815S hotspot for AT&T and have had an unlimited plan for quite a few years now, and we have great service and can stream movies with no interruptions. We will probably upgrade the hotspot in the near future, and I'm sure there are other hotspot options including providers that work just as well. Considered and then decided against installing a more permanent device as technologies are quickly evolving making many of these things nothing more than boat anchors. docj
T-Mobile is offering 100GB/mo for $50 which is an excellent deal, especially now that the T-M network has improved a lot since the Sprint merger and its increased low band 5G. They are offering the plan with the new 5G Inseego (formerly Novatel) M2000 hotspot with a Cat22 modem. Bill Joyce
Mobile Internet Resource Center has a guide on working remotely, https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/working-remotely/ , and is a good start on your research. I don't know anyone with a King Connect and did not find it with a search on Mobile Internet Research Center, but I know they have talked about it. It looks to be a WiFi extender and router, but does not have a SIM slot to add a cellular plan. That means you still need to provide your own internet. The main trick with supplying your own internet is having multiple plans and boosters or external antennas. There are current deals out there, some examples are Visible (Verizon owned) phone plans ($40 or less for unlimited, but 5mb speeds on the hotspot), the Calyx Institute (I have) and FMCA Sprint (T-Mobile) unlimited hotspot plans ($500/year or $50/mo) , the T-Mobile deal docj mentioned, and AT&T resellers like Nomad Internet and FireWiFi (around $100/month).
