Alie&Jim's Carrilite
Volvo Gen 1 How does the side window glass remove from the lift track? Spring clips? Rubber gasket? I need to remove my drivers' side glass to replace the lift assembly. So does anyone know it removes without breaking the glass?
Bob A
I had doors stripped of every thing but glass and tracks when painting wasn't tough to get that far, take panel off and head in isn't to difficult once all trim is removed track should unbolt and glass wiggle out,
Sculptor
This shows the door disassembly, but not which bolts for the glass. Most cars are similar in my opinion.
rickeieio
It's been a while... we had our drivers' door apart to repair the regulator/scissors mechanism. Volvo wanted lots of $$$ for it, and all it needed was the nylon blocks that run in the channels. I made some from scrap HDPE. Ain't pretty, but who will ever see it? I believe I left the window in the door during the repair.

clark261
Lower the window glass by pulling it out to the side. Gloves are a great way to increase your grip and lower your risk. Carefully lower the window glass to the ground. Edited August 9, 2022 by clark261
