Looking for a comfortable folding chair

You don't say if you are interested in arms or not. If arms are not needed then I would recommend these chairs. We got them at Sam's Club but they may be available in other places. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/flex-one-folding-chair-from-mity-lite-black/prod1470152.ip?navAction=

I'm a little, um, broad in the beam, and find them to be comfortable.

We got a coupe of very comfortable folding rocking chairs at Gander Mountain. They are good width too, and not hard to get out of like other folding rockers we have had. My only complaint is that they are larger than a folding chair when stowed.

I also purchased a rocking chair and I'm obese and this is comfortable for me.

My wife and I will be traveling and working this summer. We will be sitting for long periods of time in her display tent. We currently have been using some inexpensive directors chairs. They tend to get very uncomfortable after a short period of time.

We are both tall and a tad overweight. Any suggestions?

I have two with the rounded rockers on the bottom but two things are not good first they don't fold flat and take up a lot of storage and second they don't work good in dirt and especially on rocks. I them found this and love it and it supports 250 lbs.

I was going to recommend the ones we picked up but your post implies you need to stay awake :)

Big fan of the zero-g style/function but its almost guaranteed if you lay it back, you will fall asleep. Ours are similar to these but with the small side table.

I have one like this that my DW likes because it is 20.5" wide (from armrest to armrest), so she has no problem getting in and out. The "normal" sized char e had before was a problem. It also has very useful side pockets and a fold-out tray. It is rated for 300lbs too.

We like the Pico folding director's chair. It's expensive, but telescopes down and folds to the size of a lap top computer case. We have very limited outdoor storage in our RV and these chairs are among the few that we can actually store easily. They're well built, easy to open with a little practice, and hold up to 250 pounds. When I sit in one I feel supported well and can easily get out of it. The negative is cost, but if you look you can find them in the high $80's. Here's a link to them at Amazon (if I did this right!):

I agree with NadaThing on Zero Gravity... but I can sometimes stay upright and awake if I have a good book on my Kindle.

I'll add another vote for the Zero-gravity chair from Sam's Club. We carry 4 in our rear compartment. They are the most comfortable folding chair I have ever used.

Another vote for the zero gravity chairs ; the ones with the adjustable, sliding pillow can be moved into a lumbar support. I read on Amazon reviews the Picos are rendered useless if their telescoping legs get any grit in them; shame, as it's a good space-saver. Then I looked at the Strongback chairs on Amazon and apparently there are some quality issues now with the rivets rusting/breaking and need to be replaced with other hardware, which isn't the worst thing. Happy chair hunting!

For long periods of sitting in a collapsible lawn type of chair, there is nothing that has even come close for comfort to the chairs from Strongback Chairs.

I would echo Kirk's comments. I have had a strongback for going on two years - best chair I have ever bought. I have three other people buy one after trying mine.
