I'll post pictures when I pick it up. It is a 2000 Kenworth T2000 with a 550 horse cat motor. We have 3 little girls and really wanted sleeper windows. We contemplated adding to the Volvo but decided against it. Motor has 300k on full rebuild with less than 100k on new tranny. Truck has a million miles on chassis but has been very well maintained. This belongs to an owner operator who got hurt and is not healing well. He tried hiring drivers to work for him and that did not work well either. He is dumping his equipment to survive unfortunately. I was almost sad for him paying what I did for the truck. Let's just say I could not have bought a 15 years old diesel pickup for what I paid for the Kenworth.

Be aware the walls of the sleeper are curved in every plane. Sealing windows can be "interesting", due to the flatness of the window frames. I've pulled ours twice to reapply the mastic. It still weeps in the car wash, if I'm not careful, but road spray seems to be kept at bay.

I have been wrong before, I'll probably be wrong again.

  • 2 weeks later...

Brought the new truck home tonight. Had it serviced and new tires put on before I picked it up. I forget how expensive those tires are. Ouch. Oh well I'll be good to for a few years now. Going from the 425 Volvo motor to the 550 cat is a noticeable difference to say the least. With that said I never pulled an hill I struggled with my Volvo so I wasn't overly worries about a truck with more hp. I'll post some pictures soon.
