  1. Depending on how your read the replies I could see some as being interpeted as somewhat hostile even they were not meant to be. Their post was only Wed. so they still might return. Unlike a lot of us some people have a busy life.😀 (that statement could be interpretated as negative instead of a friendly poke) I hope they do return. I sent them a friendly PM that I hope they get.
  2. Lets face it someone is making the decision at the end on what to promote. They may be using a basic criteria but at the end their own view will be part of the pictures. I have been less than impressed more than I would like to if following the recommendations. A couple of years ago while wintering in the Memphis, Tn area I decided to try a lot of recommend and high rated barbque places and while almost all were good they sure did not overly impress me. I tried to stick to the stuff I liked to be fair vs what is popular regionally. IE all pork ribs or all brisket. One thing though, TN don't put salad on my barbque sandwich.😀 I would still like to get around to checking out Carson City area.
  3. Ray what neck of the woods did you coon hunt in? I got in with a couple of old time hunters when I was a teen in the early 60's an we mostly hunted in some areas in the vicinity of Canton Tx , Ben Wheeler and a few others in that area. With those guys it was mostly about the race so if the dogs treed and they wanted to continue the race the youngest guys had to go up and try to poke it into moving on. Of course a lot of times the coon did not want to go easy so then the fun really began. You know about the little boy that was fighting the coon way up a tree and he hollered to a guy on the ground to shoot , shoot. The guy hollered back he couldn't get a clear shot. Then the kid hollered shoot anyway as one of us has to have some relief.
  4. I am taking this as Glen trying to be funny since his daughter experienced some of that fake freezing. Let's work on you comedic timing Glen.
  5. Someone please explain to Ray the difference in the herd immunity being referred to now vs the way they were approaching in under the last administration. As I understand it now it is based on enough people getting the vaccinations where under the last administration it was based on enough people getting the virus and developing immunity which of course turned out not to be the case. That is as I understand it and I see it as a major difference. Someone please make it clearer if you can. I think Sweden and a at least one or more it the first way and it was a failure.
  6. Amen brother but is it to be expected.
  7. Part of the recovery issues is insurance rates will surely go up. So I see that because of the flexible rates some owners/shareholders will make astronomical profits. One article state Jerry Jones is going to make a ton. I don't yet take these stories as factual but am leaning that way. Wow lots and lots of repercussions. Like fossils being wasted hauling debris to landfills that may fill up and have to be maintained. I have got to stop thinking about all this. It is hurting my head. Big Rick what legislative oversight? I see where one of our former governors said we would all be happy to put up with no water and power longer just to avoid regulations. So as not to be political I won't name him but I do wonder about the power situation at his house.
  8. Maybe to both parts of this statement.
  9. No matter what, for the current times there needs to be the ability to generate using fossils or nuclear or whatever when there is no wind or solar capacity. That is just the way it is now. There is no question that using green energies helps to conserve the fossils for when we really need them. All depends on good judgement and foresight. Financials are a factor but surely should not be the over riding factor.
  10. Due to Medicare and Insurance I have not had to pay out of pocket in longer than I can remember. Of course I had the premiums on the medicare and insurance. Maybe 10 or more years ago I think I paid out of pocket $15. as a matter of convience and did not file for reimbursement.
  11. Someone may answer here but it would be better under Technical Tips and tricks. At some point a moderator may move it there. They will ask for more information in order to help you. Have you smelled an ammonia smell near the frig or at the back. Hope not as that is likely bad news but work the steps. BTW where are you and how cold is it where you are? That can be a problem but it will at least most likely be a temporary one. Good luck.
  12. Instead of recommendations how about requirements with oversight. One former president who was given too much credit in many cases was still correct in saying, "trust but verify".
  13. I don't know if this is true but I am skeptical. Willing to listen to a reliable source.
  14. got my 2nd phizer yesterday. Biggest issue so far is fairly fatigued starting about 5-6 hours after the shot. Have taken Tylenol twice.
  15. I did understand you were not there and I know I was but beyond that I don't make any guarntee on this one. I am wondering if the parts of etex are mostly covered by SWEPCO? You are definitly better at researching stuff than I am. If I am incorrect I am happy to be corrected.
  16. I was there in that time period but I don't remember outages this bad for sure. And I am reasonably certain this was before ERCOT and the stand alone was in place.
  17. Brain is super fuzzy this AM so need Txiceman or someone else to help me. Am I correct that all "NG" is liquid until it hits the regulator? Or if the event of leak the "hole" becomes the regulator and the liquid flashes to gas due to the pressure change from compressed liquid into "gas".
  18. One more time. They are not the total answer but they allow us to save the fossils for when we need them most and in general are non-poluting . Who knows, in the future there may be a way to store it. I sure hope so. In my rinkydink way i store a little elec. from my solarl panel for night use. May be minimal but works for me. I often store sun heated water in a few gallon or so jugs covered in a black plastic bad to use for bathing before it cools down too much in the evening. Saves me a little propane and or elec. As I said, pretty rinkydink but every little bit helps. To my knowledge California is not stand alone but it is all more complicated than that.
  19. We have been told that ERCot is private not government but does that not mean that the "government" read state of TX should oversee and ERCOT. I think I will go to Cancun. Remember the Post Office is a public corportation that sure seems to be controlled by the "government" This is all just food for thought so maybe we can see more than one side.
  20. Not to stir the pot but Marines understand comedy, Navy not so much. 😄 But yes I know that and I get your point.
  21. That one blows my mind. If any peoples had a vested interest in getting it right the Japanese sure did.
  22. Well just thanks a lot for this information given that so many don't don't read load restriction signs.😂
  23. I use 2 VA systems and one has sent me a bill and the other has not. I paid the one I received thinking like travlinbob and I had to get a blood test recently so check with the lady at the pay window and she looked up my current balance with them and plan to start making payment at least after I file my taxes this year. Soon I hope.
  24. I had not thought of this. I have used reflective dash cover as I stated somewhere else but this seems reasonble too.
