  1. Not quite for the same reasons, but I hate campgrounds too, everywhere not just east coast. Boon-docking (not parking loting..) is for me if possible. Unfortunately, one must use a campground to be near a destination.
  2. LOL, I was agree'n with you, explaining my experience. My experience has been deleted, hornets nest watered down. 🙂
  3. Explain please? Today, it ran an hour then pop. Now it's been running ~5 hours without a problem, 85 degrees out. This is house 20amp circuit.
  4. I wondered about that. It starts just fine, it's popping the breakers while working/cooling. I'm wondering if the compressor is starting to wear out and causing it from running constantly. Up til now, it's ran off the generator with no problems for several years. I'm also thinking it's an 11k AC, it's not very big but will cool down the RV quite well, til now. The camper is 19 yrs old with all original appliances.
  5. That's kinda where I'm leaning Kurt. Much easier on fuel but when we pick-up our next RV it will more than likely be a 50 amp. 2 Honda gen sets would not be a good fit with bigger power requirements I think. It will probably be a toy hauler, if so I will make sure it has an on-board generator for sure. BUT, there's still a possibility of a Class A.... this darn RAM is a son of a gun to back with a camper... LOL I just hate hauling 2 around but on the other hand, I can handle lifting 2, one at a time. The other one is lot heavier.
  6. To upgrade my generator. I have a single Honda 2200i and it has, and does work flawless. Generator is not the problem, this unreal.. freaking high heat is. I sat my camper next to my stick n bricks/power outlet. It has hit over 100 for several days in a row. The 20 amp circuit keeps popping, can't keep the 30 amp campers AC going, no surprise there... LOL it works good on cooler days 70-80f outside but not this freaking heat! My daughter wants to stay in it and work UN-interupted during the day... 0h-well. This generator will also not work in this heat, the AC is working over-time and causing a fail/shut-down on the gen. also. Yes, I asked a certified electrician to run a 50 amp to the outside of garage for campers but he is so far a no show. I'm looking at one of several things. The honda has a companion 2200i that says linked, they supply 30 amps. I can pick one up at ~$1,200. OR, is a better choice the Predator 3500 at ~$850, single unit supplying 30 amp. Predators, I have read reviews all over the place from best ever to biggest piece of manure ever made. I know the Honda is a great gen set, has not failed us in the time we've had it. I'm also thinking if our next camper does not come with a gen set, I would like to be able to run a 50 amp camper on it with no problems. For economy, or not having to carry alot of gas cans, the honda I think is the most fuel efficient, even if I must run 2 at same time. They both are fairly quiet so no problem there. We do alot of boondocking so must be in the consideration. Ability to run the AC during the heat of the day is mandatory as my wife can no longer take high heat. For my plans stated above, what say y'all?
  7. Guess I haven't noticed the repeats on my Pandora stations but I only listen to it a couple hours a week. I had Sirius, they kept over-billing me so I dropped them. The only thing I would like to find is a service that plays the same comedy channels as Sirius, that's just about all I listened too on there anywayz, except for the holidays. I've thought about reconnecting with Sirius XM on a phone app. All my vehicles/home stereo can connect to my iphone via blu-tooth. With all the free music streaming apps out there, I'm really surprised Sirius has not folded.
  8. I like to advise folks to 80% of their vehicles factory rating. For your towing cap of 14,700 lbs, I would look at/under 11,760 lbs. Your choice as to what you would do. Can your truck pull it, probably. Can your truck handle it in an emergency situation, probably.. not. Myself, I can pull 18,400 lbs. I try to keep my camper at/under 14,720 lbs even though I can easily handle 18,400. In the end, it's up to you and your insurance when you can't stop quick enough to prevent damage to another vehicle (not to mention yourself and others in your vehicle). Can your conscience and wallet handle the consequences of an OH SHYTE moment?
  9. Feeling much better today, still a little tired but doing good. I think the side effects are all but gone.
  10. Thanks, I'm feeling a little better but still tired. Better half has been feeding me Tylenol and bottles of water. I'm getting water-log'd but I think it's helping. 🙂
  11. Wife and I, minor sore arm after first shot. Second, wife was tired for a day, son it wiped out for 3 days, he's still not up to par. I got mine yesterday, so far I am wiped out. Sore arm, headache, muscles sore all over my body and I'm so darn tired I'm going back to bed shortly.
  12. That's a fact. There's only 2 things in life 100% (and I'm sure I'm quoting it wrong but the idea is right), death and taxes.
  13. Question. Maybe I have misunderstood the whole vaccine thang. I was under the impression that the vaccine shot would not prevent anyone from getting the virus, but getting the shot lessened the damage from it? A person would get over it quicker, not get hit hard enough to need hospitalization? I could swear I was told all it does is increase your antibodies to virus'? I could be in left field again or missed it somewhere, I don't read all the reports. I have a hard time reading anything more than a paragraph or 2 before most everythang kinda gets blurry. Wife has had 2 shots, I get my second one this coming Monday. Can we still catch da virus?
  14. OHHH, now I remember! I'm watching the original (?) American version of Godzilla. Do y'all think the thousands of Japanese would have survived if they would have listened to the warnings about Godzilla attacking? Is/was Godzilla considered a virus? No, not making fun of covid, well... I know it's serious but not a dayum thing bitc..hing about it can do. Do your part, social distance, wear a mask, get the shots and give it time, it will work it's self out in time. Do your part.
  15. Wait, I'm not the only one that hears voices?? I feel so happy now! I was going to say something else but forgot with all the very loud screaming going on in me pumpkin..... Peace-out y'all!
  16. If a dealer does not want to deal on price, find another dealer. Won't give me the price I want, I keep on using what I have, shop around, someone will take your offer.
  17. You and I both. Don't forget the ammo.... lots and lots of ammo....
  18. Why the 30 foot? How many kids? I drive a won-ton pick-up with 32' RV and have a ton of room for wife and I. They make rvs with bunks, some have converted toy hauler garages into bed-rooms. I am one that see's no reason for an HDT but that's just my opinion. I can pull any RV I would ever be interested in. My wife has driven my truck with and with-out RV in tow no problem.
  19. We're still waiting, waiting, waiting... we have places we need to be but not going anywhere until we atleast get *the shot*s. We are both on lists but we can't get the shot. Wife is over 66, has heart problems, I am 63 with heart problems/diabetes and can't get shots....
  20. Never heard of them but it's sad just how many business are shutting down, killed by lack of shoppers do to the virus and/or the ease of ordering from your lounger (internet). I prefer buying, albeit a couple more pennies higher, from a mom/pop store I can examine the product in hand first.
  21. Keep it dark outside. I don't even want to see your inside lights without your blinds down. We enjoy the night sky, watching night life around us (not meaning ppl...). Even when sitting outside in our SnB, our lights, inside and out, are off. We don't even enjoy a campfire at night, it's all light pollution. This is mostly why we boon-dock, AWAY from others that are light-rude!
  22. I don't do this, but I would ask, would it be a pain in the (tax)? Depending on how often you moved for jobs/states, it might be a head-ache? And some states will declare you a resident if you meet their time limits? Just my 2 cents, good luck with it!
  23. Agree completely with the RAM's out of date GPS. I use google maps on my iphone for route directions but that one irritates me occasionally too. IF we traveled more than we do (or.. don't), I'd look at getting the truck version garmin.
