  1. One post wonder.......makes you wonder ?? I'll have to pass on your petition...😕
  2. "Ship Them" - Buyer Beware !! Be sure to check the date codes on any tires "shipped" to you.....or shipped to a *dealer*, from GY. .
  3. (IMO) There is *NO* positive thing from running GY tires !! The "experiences" of hundreds of (mfg in the USA) Marathon tire failures (multiply "hundreds" by the number of tires on the vehicles) over the years - as well as at least one lawsuit GY lost which was not sealed ("GY Kept Tire Problems Quiet", SP Times) - should make the brand choice by a prospective buyer an easy one! Well - actually there is a "positive thing" - if you can call it that - in most instances, GY would replace the defective tires with free replacement/s (if the owner saved the carcass) - and *maybe* pay for repairs the failure caused to owner's RV. Unfortunately, no compensation for "down time". The GY Marathon Failure thread ran for *years* on the Airstream forum (and can still be found there). If you are a GY "fan", GY Endurance tires are receiving good reviews. Roll them bones!..😉 .
  4. Gypsies - SEE EDIT to my post. Currently using the HF ramps (singled) for a very gentle slope to one step below the "home made" entry deck (and door height) for my 5th wheel which is forty inches (40"). Works OK, but - with exception of the ramps - not portable. You are correct in re the The TT. However -All- the *options* are preferable (in cost) to selling/trading what one has & purchasing a replacement RV..😕
  5. Here's two more - including one for Linda's ramp suggestion...(but for humans - dog ramps are usually too steep for human mobility & weight issues): Google: "RV deck with ramp" That will take you to 2 excellent possibilities... "EZ-ACCESS FORTRESS" - guess fortress is the key word - sure looks that way. However the deck does have stairs....but since they are to the side (rather than front) "modified" stairs w/ shorter rise might be possible. "Roll-A-Ramp" (from - Mobility Products and Electric Bike) - the deck has a ramp - also to the side rather than in front. Both of those have railings which appear *very* substantial. *** ON EDIT (researching lots of same for wife - with bad knee).... Checking on the "EZ-ACCESS FORTRESS" - impressive! Price is $800. vs $2300. for "Roll-A-Ramp". Click the four step model - if deck is adjusted higher it would = a 5th step. Meets OSHA stds. - Can be used as left or right side, etc. The site has a video. See link below. Want a ramp for it? - HF has an aluminum, 2 section (6' each) ramp which can be joined together -or- separately with a support (you make) in the middle for a 12' ramp - (30" wide (doubled) or 15" wide (singled). Cost = $100. http://www.discountramps.com/loading-dock/stair-system/p/FOR2742/ .
  6. "I don't need a lift"........(but) - "It must be easy to set up and move around". ?? The stairs Kirk indicated are good options - for *stairs*. Maybe a lift is out of the question - not sure what your statement (quoted above) means?? There are permanent lifts - Ex: Google - "Burr Lift" - also a new on the market intended for RVs - *movable* "stand-up" lift which can be seen on the Virginia Stairlift Co. - http://www.VA-StairLift-company.com - go to the "New Product" - "Motor Step" - pic shown on the web site. The cost for either of these items is in the ballpark cost of whatever the solution is ($) you researched. Caveat: "Motor Step" is Mfg in the UK - sold in the US & other countries. Unfortunately, Covid has slowed production - the only US seller (the link) has waiting lists...😕 Google is your friend - good luck with the dilemma! .
  7. The precautions you *don't* want: The Good, Bad, and UGLY !! Good = a few years ago, I placed a credit freeze with the 3 credit reporting bureaus. Easy to do, you have a password to remove (or pause) the freeze. Actually did a pause a couple of times. Worked well. Call the bureau/s, choose the length of the pause you want. "Done" either immediately or by the following day. Bad = Placing the freezes was ultimately a bad mistake - with ugly consequences! Ugly = (Why?) Along comes Covid. I needed to remove the credit freeze for a credit check. All going smoothly with Equifax & TransUnion.....until Experian. The phone numbers I had used previously were of no help. However - Wow! - There's a major Experian office a few miles away. I'll just go there in person (with pw & lots of ID) to solve the problem. Bad omen! Giant park lot - *very* empty! Hmmm....?? - go in the multi story bldg. Security guard & an employee inform me it's closed, but I can try a different office in a nearby city - although there might not be anybody there either! Fortunately, they did give me a phone number which would eventually work (Allen, TX). Note: *Eventually* !! (LOTS of "on hold" time!) After about two weeks, I received a confirmation the freeze had been permanently removed. Glad I didn't need immediate help to remove or pause the freeze. No more "freezes" for me. Lesson learned = pay the fee for Lifelock -and/or- regularly check your credit report! ~
  8. What Kirk said. Go on RV.Net Open Roads Forums - the Class C forum. Ask owners how (or "if") anyone modified their "C" to the configuration you want - how difficult, and at what expense (if any). You might be pleasantly surprised. 😉
  9. Would guess your trailer has tandem wheels. The "good' spring packs may now have been overloaded! (No way to know). Suggest you replace the remaining spring packs - or (because the 3 remaining may have different "rates"), replace them all from the same supplier. Save one of the old spring packs in a compt as a backup if you ever need it. BTW - You're far better off *not* going to an *RV* dealer ! "Spring & Forge" shops are available in most cities, also trailer supply stores (springs -and equipment- for utility trailers, horse trailers, etc.) are very common. Both of these are usually more reliable than RV dealers. One last.....make sure the center positioning "pin" is in the center of the spring - or *not*! Sometimes they are offset an inch or so from being "on center". Measure the distance/s on your old spring. .
  10. "Maybe" on your HS French - but negative on your HS English usage..😕 Morale -vs- moral: Ex: The *morale* of the reviewers is outstanding!...... The *moral* is, posting reviews can be lucrative. .
  11. Be sure to check the owner's manual !! IIRC - When the transmissions were upgraded (date? - 2018? - or -2019?) the answer changed to "NO". > > (Gas engines) My 2016 was/is a "YES" - and my owner's manual indicates it's "OK". BTW: I wanted a six cyl rather than a 4 cyl, with Front Wheel Drive. That combo not available with Equinox. Went with GMC Terrain (same as Equinox - except for FWD w/ 6 cyl, gas) Soooooo ...... *verify* and double check the yes/no by model year/s 😉
  12. "NamMedevac 70" could have lifted it out with a Skycrane and the TX Gov as a spotter! Coach Net, Good Sam, Allstate, AAA -or- were they ALL......ROTFL ??? 🤑
  13. CA freeways are "free" to everyone - yet CA residents pay for the roads & maint. In many other states the "Through Ways / Express Ways" or whatever are toll roads. Make all CA freeways toll roads - with fees adjusted for residents and non-residents. Might even improve traffic congestion! (Yeah - mission impossible.)
  14. Good times ???, - - ROTFL !! ...😕 What brand of Motor Home (or RV) was it ?? Remember some MHs (?) that had a "clothes chute" to deposit your dirty laundry from the living area into the storage area. Had a small TT many years ago - storage under one of the dinette seats could be accessed from the inside -or- via an outside compt.......but no way even a kid could accomplish the gopher caper.
  15. Agree with "sandsys"! Started to read it......but tooo loooong ... Sorry - I didn't know about "having to read" a long post...☚ī¸ However, NamMedic would prob like to initiate debate...😉
  16. High end - Low life.........but - Apparently the thief didn't have to get it out of a storage compartment !! 😉
  17. Since I cannot buy it - no need to even think - or read - about it. 🙃
  18. IMO - Got to the *Bus Conversions* forum (here) for help & suggestions. Contact the folks that have one, and - "been there, done that". Also similar info on other forums -and- YouTube.
  19. The thumb turn is handier for you......and a thief. Also......some? thieves aren't smart enough to have a 751. First RV (after tents) 1975. So far nobody has stolen anything in compartments -or- outside. "Outside" means "unsecured" things like lawn chairs. Bikes etc. get secured. BTW "podwerkz": Check the pouch. Switched the 100's to 1's a month ago!...😉
  20. True! "Back When" a hide-out (spare) key was about one dollar - and easy to hide! Now a spare "chipped" key will run you about $80. from the dealer. No - "On Star"....so - yes on the $80 spare. Finding a good hiding place is more difficult than in the good 'ol days (especially if it's a "fob" type). BTW - Auto theft deterrent. Ya gotta love the honking horns.......that everyone ignores while muttering %*&^# about the owner. 😁
  21. Which "new generation"?, LOL Shouldn't take long for a new RVer: It's a "PITA" and a waste of time. Thieves already have it figured out & have a.... "basic - fits everything - key" !! It's called a slot head screwdriver !! BTW: I change out all those locks to thumb turn style. No key required. Been doing that since my first TT in the 70's - Also MH's & 5th wheel . Nothing stolen yet. If there's a first time, guess that's amortization..... and time to upgrade unnecessary stuff in there...😉 .
  22. Good thing age silly as us is on vacation! Expect him to get rolling on the advantages of nuke energy (again) soon! 🙃
  23. FYI - "Driver's License Number" - it's in a National Data Base - no matter what state you live in - or where you may apply for a new license. South Dakota had my CA info in seconds - even asked if I still wanted to renew my previous CDL - (CDL - which I had *not* renewed many years previously in CA). Ten minutes later - out the door with current -laminated- DL inc'l motorcycle endorsement. (All of which took place in 2006) BTW: When you're thinking of THE IRS - remind yourself to combine the title of that Fed agency...... it's just a partial acronym of/for how it sees your $$....= "theirs" !! 😉 .
  24. You can not upset age.silly.as.us ! He is in training for the summer Olympics Debating Team. Thom said be nice! (us.silly.too.thom) 🙃
  25. Does that mean.......the sky didn't fall ?? .......at least for now -or- until the next Chinese rocket re-entry, LOL. BTW - On TV news. Did you see the woman at a gas station filling a *plastic bag* with gasoline? Not pipeline related (old video from 2019?) - so guess it's like drinking Bleach.......nobody does that anymore! 😄 .
