  1. Some say all malls have run their course and we will buy on line?
  2. We don't drink water from our fresh water tank. I don't trust what they are made of. Someone once told me that some of them are made in China? As for approved water supply, my three wells are not approved water supplies. I do have it tested every few years but I get that for free. Seems that you are on the right track but do you really put money in envelopes? That I find odd. What is wrong with banks?
  3. Is there any reason that you couldn't get paid just like your consulting business? What vendor accounts do you require for a tax business?
  4. Regarding a printer, we were in the UP of MI two summers ago and my better half said that she wanted a printer. It is very rural where we summer in the UP and the Walmart is about 33 miles away so about a week later we went to Sault St. Marie to the Walmart and my better half asked the young man in the computer, cellphone, TVs part of the store that she wanted a small printer and he led us to the printers and there it was printed on the box "the worlds smallest printer". It was small and cheap so we bought it. As usual the ink is not cheap. Another unrelated story, that Walmart had just opened and we were there on a Sunday morning looking around and I see a liquor store in the Walmart not far from the cashiers and it was slow that time of day, about 9:30am, so I asked one of the cashiers about the liquor store, she was as old or older them me, 69, and she stated that the liquor store was owned by Walmart. I noticed a closed sign at the liquor store but the cashier told me to get what I wanted and pay for it at her register. I stated but it is Sunday and she replied "who are they to tell us when we can buy liquor". I explained that being from the Bible belt in SE Texas all liquor stores were closed on Sunday.
  5. Additionally, is it mandatory that you register you business?
  6. Do people pay sales tax on income tax services in Texas?
  7. We don't travel with dogs or cats because we don't want to pick up after them. I live on a small ranch in SE Texas and I just let my dogs run free. It has never been a problem and that is what we are used to. I sometimes think that I would like a dog with us but then I remember about picking up their mess. I am lucky that I have two of my children and their children living on my ranch and thay take care of my dogs and barn cats when we are gone.
  8. As noted above why not use eternabond?
  9. We use a set of Correlle dishes that we have had for over thirty years and they will probably out live us!
  10. We are still using Correlle dishes that we have had for thirty years and I would bet that they will out live us Blog: http://sandcastle.sandsys.org/ Former Rigs: Liesure Travel van, Winnebago View 24H, Winnebago Journey 34Y, Sportsmobile Sprinter conversion van Size We are still using Correlle dishes that we have had for thirty years and I would bet that they will out live us!
  11. We use a Nook with e-books from Barnes & Nobel.
  12. Thanks, I have a fiver with three hydraulic slides and two electric with a hydraulic leveling system.
  13. Before I bought an RV I attended the Escapees Boot Camp. I went to Livingston, TX, about 40 miles from my small ranch in SE Texas, but they do them in other locations as well. They stated that they wanted to help you but your third RV first. Good Luck
  14. Sorry for the lack of information, I had to buy those two RV lots in the UP of MI, $13,000 for one and $5,000 for the other, and now it is about $60 per month for real estate taxes and POA fees combined. You also have to know that you would like it there and also it would help if you liked the other lot owners. Maybe we were lucky. I bought the first RV lot about four years before I retired, they financed it and I paid it off in two years. I had not been to the UP in over 40 years but you can see it on Google Earth. The population in Cedarville, MI had on changed much in those 40 years and I remembered how nice it was. After two summers we were able to buy the lot next to us. Escapees RV parks are also an alternative. Some have lease lots and some you can buy from owners. You can also try to get a part time job at an RV park that included lot rental. Good Luck
  15. What we did is to buy an RV lot, two lots side by side, in the UP of MI were we spend the summer, May thru September, then back to SE Texas for a month or so and then on to FL. It is very much like going for 70 degrees. As for cost for the two lots, property taxes and POA fees come to about $60 per month and because it is a co-op we are board members and have activities and people to do things with. It is a small RV park, 55 lots, on lake Huron. Maybe we lucked out but we have some very nice people who are lot owners mostly they are from MI, OH, IN and WI. We are from SE Texas. If we can't find a reasonable RV spot near Ft. Myers, FL, during the Winter, we park it at my sisters house in Ft. Myers.
  16. If I follow the thread correctly? You must go to SD, stay the night, get proof that you stayed for the night, both names on the receipt and then get insurance and register your vehicles?
  17. Death and taxes none of us can get away from. While I don't pay the IRS quarterly I keep well ahead of what I owe at any point during the year. I remember when my father paid $1,500 quarterly and he forgot to send one or it was lost in the mail and before the IRS notified him it effective two tax years and he was fined and had to pay interest for both years. He never could understand why two years when he only missed one payment. The IRS took the first payment for the next year and applied it to the prior year so he was behind for the next year. He was 89 at the time and from then on I knew that I had to help him.
  18. If you own a home in ME it can be a little more complicated if you sell it and it is not your primary residence. Additionally, I also moved my 403b to an IRA because with the 403b they would take 10% of what I takeout and send it to the IRS and I didn't need them to send 10%. With the IRA they will not take funds from your disbursements and send then to the IRS if you don't want them to. The minimum disbursement from an IRA starts in the year that you become 70 and one half. The no state income tax in TX, FL and a few more states is a big reason people domicile there. Good Luck
  19. The $400,000 needs to be invested in 100% no load stock mutual funds for growth of capital. If you can leave it there for a long time, 20 years. That will most likely grow to a nice retirement fund over that time frame. That with SS for each of you should provide a nice retirement income. Please be careful who you chose to invest the money with. Get a financial planner who you pay a one time fee to or better yet get the books and videos from Susie Orman and be you own financial planned. Good Luck and be where of medical insurance cost over time. Good Luck
  20. It did away with the tailgate camera. I have the same Reese hitch and my fiver a 2018 Cardinal 3825 FL came with 16 inch G rated LT tires which probably helped with the height of the trailer.
  21. I have a 2019 F350 XLT, diesel, crew cab, long bed, 4X4, with puck system and I was surprised that with the hitch in the middle of three settings it is 6 inches above truck rail. I did buy one of those tail gates, the plastic one which has metal under the plastic, which I don't have to put it up or down.
  22. Any time that you say ask for a restaurant near you or something like that they must know where you are and they almost always place tracking cookies.
